I love how Karina specifically labeled her hamster so she wouldn’t think it was a baked potato when she rendered it but then she turned the spit into butter
I didn't even register that. I saw the butter in the render and said yeah this makes sense actually
He buttered Paunchy
Idk why but there’s something objectively funny about the phrase “he buttered Paunchy” that just made me split my side from laughing too hard. There are so many layers of comedy to it. Why would anyone even butter a hamster?
@@equivalentconcept1403 it gives me the same comedic energy as “they did surgery on a grape”
buttering a hamster is the next level of the insult--one can impulsively spit on an adversary's hamster out of anger, but buttering it takes effort and premeditation lol
I find it funny how Nathan decided not to draw himself and then drew feral Nathan fursona
That was my exact thought process
He did get really close to the actual animal on the end
Nathan fursona and also that droopy dog Pokémon from Scarlett/Violet
@@Lazu__li Yes! Puppy sloth
My mind right away went to “Big brother- Edward” 😭
Or just Jeff Bridges
Karina gives such big "I absorbed my twin in the womb" energy that I totally forgot she had a brother
I aspire to give off this specific energy someday
This is so specific, but somehow completely accurate
What the hell did I just read...? XD
The combined strength of a grown woman and a baby
Jokes on you i actually did that!
(Unfortunately the other one survived.)
Did anybody else hear Julia’s story of being ominously woken up for pancakes and suddenly understand her art aesthetics even more? 😂

YES!
"Enemy Shaped" was not a word I never knew I needed
yes please
Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!
The "sissy screamer" is a Siberian jay. "Lavskrika" in Swedish, which translates to "lichen screamer".
That explains why I couldn't find it, I was googling "Messkrika" and found nothing 😂
I was searching messkrika this whole time! Feel like drawfee singlehandedly raised that search result lol
Yeah, I couldn't place it. I knew what the other two were supposed to be, though. But if we all are swedish, varför inte tala svenska?
I was thinking like blåmes or nötskrika, but I'm not a bird guy so I'd never heard of a lavskrika.. XD
Bump
I love to hear that Julia’s parents are as weird and interesting as she is: building boats, leaving at four am to get pancakes four hours away, writing quirky cook books…
Owning a big ass family heirloom bow that's too heavy for her to use
In some alternate universe where Drawfee is Swedish, they’re all drawing literal translations of grasshoppers, anteaters, king fishers, hedgehogs, and peacocks.
The first three on that list actually has more or less identical names in Swedish.
@@TrueVeloxBut the others would fit in this episode. Hedgehog = leech cone & peacock = on-bird.
@@PigPillow Jag vet, tyckte bara att det var lite roligt att tre av exemplen inte skulle vara annorlunda.
@@PigPillow I forgot that it's literally on-bird (in Danish too) xD
And we call hedgehogs "stick swine" which seems kinda rude
On the spectrum of 'Tasteful' Drawfee prompts, peacock is probably on the scrotum devil side of things. 😂
As a Swede, I support this with all my heart.
i am also swedish
samma här
det är bra... It rocks
Jag klickade snabbare än någonsin
Som ännu en svensk håller jag med!
As a swede here are some other good animal translations: raw animal = roe deer, lard chopper = killer whale, shield toad = turtle, soil what = mole
'Rådjur', 'späckhuggare', 'sköldpadda' and 'mullvad' if anyone wants the swedish names. They're in the order presented i OP.
“Soil what” is my favorite. Like they saw a mole digging and said “what’s that? It’s just soil…what??”
I love shield toad
Man I just love languages. There’s so many little joys in words like those
its shield toad in german as well! (schildkröte)
I love how Nathan accidentally made a full fledged cryptid.
You agree to meet someone for a date of some kind but unknowingly enter a pact with a Late walker and are bound to wait at the specified location until it arrives. Slowly dieing of thirst, hunger, and age as The late walker widdles your very soul down through attrition. When it finally arrives you've been broken down mentally and physically and it can now feed on your remains and then move on to another victim.
This is amazing. It’s so evocative and so well done, but I need you to know that “whittles” is not spelled like “widdles” for the sake of your future writing endeavors. Unless you meant to say the Late Walker wears your spirit down by peeing on it, like some sort of urinal cake of the soul.
This is basically what I was going to type, but you said it so much more eloquently.
If it's a meal date of some kind, and you die waiting for the Latewalker, you still have to cover the bill.
Haha
It looks like it's saying "Ed...Ward"
Me *thinking how Nathan’s drawing looks remarkably like the horrific chimera in full metal alchemist and wondering how nobody has mentioned it yet*
Karina: “this is the face of a creature whose dad…”
Me: FINALLY
Karina: “… did not care about getting to the airport five hours early.”
NOOOOOO!
Edward...
SAME
Good, I'm not the only one!
This is totally what I thought it looked like! Full Metal is great (still watching the series, so no spoilers) but the chimeras are VERY disturbing...
Daddy?
No way, I've literally had this idea except for Finnish names lmfao. Also that bird is a Siberian Jay.
Bump the name!
That sounds about right, but Sberian Jay is called Lavskrika in Swedish, and that should translate to "lichen screamer". A "mes" is a type of bird that could absolutely be translated as "sissy", but there is no such thing as a "messkrika", so idk 🤔
Yup, that's right. Just takes a quick Google lens. Very pretty bird though.
@@Ebbagull they did say some of the translations were reaches, so it's probably mistranslated
yeah no idea how they got got lav to mean sissy, maybe some very local thing lmao, or maybe the author just got their birds mixed up
Omg, my time to shine! That bird they called "sissy screamer" is a Siberian Jay! In Swedish they're called "lavskrika" and a more accurate literal translation would be "lichen screamer".
Loved this episode, thank y'all for all that u do! ❤️
I still don’t understand how they (OP) got ”sissy” from lav
And when "stjärtmes", "butt coward", was right there as well!
where are all the upvotes? I was looking for this at the top!
The birb is a Siberian Jay:
From Wikipedia-
"The Siberian jay is mostly silent but can utter a loud screech resembling that of a buzzard (Buteo spp.). The song, which is performed by both sexes, mainly during the breeding season and heard only from a short distance, comprises a wide repertoire of sounds. These range from sequences of separate soft and harsh notes to bouts of whistling, creaking and trilling, sometimes incorporating mimicked song of other birds."
for those wondering, lavskrika is the sweddish word. which is closer to lichen screamer, lav means (As far as I can tell) lichen/something that hangs down, skrika means to scream, to yell, to shout. which, in my opinion is funnier then "sissy screamer", but I also have a weird obsession with fungai, and lichen is fungai and algae.
The absolute *joy* when Karina quietly declared "5 letters" absolutely brightened my day. Just to hear them so genuinely laugh was amazing
That's comedy!
11:50
There's actually a whole family of scrotum animals, including but not limited to: scrotum rats, rabbit scrotum badgers, scrotum wolves and scrotum moles
Fwiw, in case anyone sees this and is curious why we have so many scrotum animals, it's because we have the same word for scrotum as we have for pouch ("pung"), so all marsupials are scrotum animals ("pungdjur")
@@Nonov_Yurbisniss If marsupials are scrotum animals, then rabbit scrotum badgers clearly must be kangaroos, right??

That's basically a Full Metal Alchemist chimaera version of Nathan
It's Nathan fursona bad sad
Juila telling that story about her parents really clears up everything.
I am left wondering if her parents had the munchies at 4am and just woke the kids to go an a roadtrip to get the best pancakes possible
My aunt often did the same thing to me when I was younger. Sometimes I would go to sleep and just wake up in a car driving through Ohio (3~4 hours away from our house)

The Danish name for the judgement lord/bullfinch is dompap which can be transliterally as "judgement cardboard" but the pronunciation has it sounding more like "stupid cardboard" and was used as an S tier burn by my sister on our dad when she was very young.
As a zookeeper it’s my time to shine when Karina said “name ten feathers” but then I remembered there’s not ten.
Anyway here’s the types of feathers:
downy, bristle, filoplume, semiplume, contour, remiges (wing feathers, categorized as primary, secondary, or tertiary), and rectrices (tail feathers)
It's so funny that Karina thinks of the "dog" that judges people after their death and Nathan talks about the life after death that is weighed against a feather and they do not make the connection that they are both talking about Egyptian mythology. Anubis the jackal-headed god of funeral rites and Osiris. (Thx for correcting me in the comments)
I thought Karina was referencing Cerberus! Guess there’s a lot of dogs in various underworlds lol
@@Rebecca-hm6pw Well, as far as I know, Cerberus doesn't judge people. He just hangs around in Hades and guards the door. But yeah, lots of after death doggos.
And here I am, a mythology lover, thinking to myself "oh I get it, like the dog with shifty eyes in the Simpsons"
@@helldude35 Ah so I got that mixed up. Thanks!

Julia’s pancakes story makes so much sense 😂 like every time we get a Julia’s parents story (particularly a Julia’s dad story) we get a little insight into why Julia’s mind is so inexplicable in the best way
Honestly the more I hear about her childhood the more I wonder “Was… was that trauma?”
But it seems weird to wonder that about a complete stranger so uh. Hm
I love how their comedic is purely audio based... that bit with Julia saying she was the raven, and I was with Nathan and Jacob, like "noooo there was a raven!"

Karina saying that she and her brother actually harmed each other is the most relatable sibling dynamic
Suggestion:
A Karina hosted episode where everyone gets the Tags of an AO3 fanfic and tries to make fanart for it ❤
Please I don't think we're ready for Jesus and Judas in bondage gear 😭
They need to use one of those "unhinged ao3 tag" generators, though. The common tags are too boring.
If they gave Julia the sissy screamer, she would've just drawn panicked kermit.
Fun fact: strawberry in Swedish is translated as earth geezer/boy.
True, but it's from a dialect and means "Little lump".
Sorry but when I hear gubbe I think old man
Earth old man
As a swed i can say that "Jordgubbe" also means "Dirt old man". Earth on swedish is "Jorden" and dirt on swedish is "jord"
Or just a Dirt geezer.
Nathan's animal is 100% something that could be in the 90's Moomins
The Pokémon character designers were definitely 90s Moomin fans. Celio, Bill's Computer Nerd friend from FR/LG, looks identical to the Snork.
Latewalker literally looks like Piisamirotta (can't remember his English name) LOL
@@Anxious-Jay The Muskrat! (Never seen him before, but l like the cut of his jib.)
Knowing that Julia's brother was the kind of brother who would yell up to their mom that it was lunch time because Julia was hungry? 😭 That's the kind of big brother she deserves.
I imagine some of it also had to do with the fact that Julia grew up deaf. It'd make sense that her brother would be her advocate in those scenarios, instead of the usual sibling fighting.
@@Gruncival Yeah, I did consider that, but I still think it's cute.

Fun fact: there is a beetle that eats dead wood (in old houses for example) and it’s name translates as “clock of death”. When I was nine, we were staying in my grandparents summer house and I heard this scary ticking noise as I was trying to sleep. I finally worked up the courage to get up and go tell my parents. I mean, I had the top comment on the last vid, so they had to have seen it, right? 😅
My favorite feather? I’ve always liked the flight feathers on the outside of birds’ wings, but that’s just my pinion.
A Domherre is the same as a Clergy/Canon in the church.
Domherre (the bird), also called dompap in Norwegian(which would have an even funnier name when literally transelated) and sometimes Dompfaff in Germany is called so because the males red chest reminded people back in the medieval period of the red clothes a Clergy/Canon would wear at that time
I love how the feather discussion started with Nathan mentioning the Assassin's Creed Origins feather... And ended up with Nathan wild-guessing that there's a mythology where your soul is weighed against a feather. It's Egyptian mythology, Nathan. They're the same feather. That's the reason the dude from AC is carrying a feather around, dude! Don't cheat us and make us think you know more about feathers than you actually do!
Hearing about Julia's parents and the pancake story made me go oh, so that's where she got it from :)

Unfortunately they don't do the Drawfee Variety Hour anymore :P
Karina’s screaming onigiri frog is so delightful, the wee blushies? I love it
Just as Jacob asked "you know what people are the real late walkers?" my dog smacked my laptop with his toy and somehow made the video speed 2x faster.
Also, as a Swede, I love this video.
Also (again), as the youngest sibling, I'm definitely the screaming frog
That conclusion they arrived to was really strange to me, the youngest of three, since I would get a whooping from either my father, older sister, or older brother, if I ever so much as sat down in a way that they found annoying. I grew up subconsciously developing ways to move about the house being as quiet as possible. To this day when I approach a friend in a way I find perfectly natural and say something to them they start with a scream and tell me not to "sneak up on" them like that. I CAN'T HELP IT, IT'S AN INSTINCT OF SELF-PRESERVATION.
@@leopoldbloom4296 interesting, because i do the same thing as the oldest child, my coworkers get mad (jokingly) at me for being so quiet and scaring them and my youngest brother is incredibly loud and throws tantrums whenever we do something as a family that he doesnt want to do (hes 12, so not an appropriate temper tantrum throwing age)
@@mars-the-ethereal9609 Seeing as I'm in my 30s, there's probably a generational factor to take into account

24:00 the Sissy Screamer appears to be Lavskrika (Siberian jay), the exact same photo is used for the Swedish Wikipedia article: sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavskrika . 'Skrika' does translate to 'Scream' or 'Screamer' (in the use as a name), but as a Swede I can't tell why 'Lav' would translate to 'Sissy'. On the other hand the common word for 'Sissy' or 'Coward' in Swedish ('Mes') is also used in a lot of bird names and gives us such classics as Blue Sissy, Scrotum Sissy, Beard Sissy and Butt Sissy. On the Screamer end we also have 'Nut Screamer' which sounds comically disgusting in English.
I was thinking "mes" as "wimp", which would make more sense to me.
I was so hoping we'd get a Bluewimp...

13:30 Goof squad here, I am convinced based on the "that frog that's really round" description and the sounds Julia made that she was referring to a desert rain frog (Breviceps macrops), while the frog pictured in the inset pop-up appears to be a Budgett's frog (Lepidobatrachus laevis)
(In fairness, Budgett's do also have a scream-like vocalization, and they come up in google searches for "screaming frog," but the scream has a lower timbre and they are much less round than rain frogs)
I, too, thought she meant the desert rain frog.
I believe she meant that too. Although the shrieking frog I have the most experience with is Green Frogs who all do the YEEP and hop into the pond, and then all the rest of the green frogs will do the same thing like a cascade of yeeps and splashes.

Strange how two years of weekend Swedish classes helped me guess what the named thing was in a Drawfee episode... and it wasn't this one. It was the "Drawing Pokemon based on their German names" episode, one of them was called Urgl and that immediately made me think "That sounds kind of like bird in Swedish!"
Urgl made you think of fågel? 😂
I like that little feather people put on their hats because you just know they're an expert in 16th century archery practices, and that really speaks to me on a whole 'nother feather.

I remember that game when I grew up with where you guess what word you are thinking while spelling out each individual words and I usually choose the Tasmanian Devil and other marsupials as they all starts with scrotum in Swedish. The Swedish word for scrotum was originally meant purse, pouch or sack which the Danish are still using for their word for wallet. There are even locations named after that too.
