- Kate Middleton has been admitted to the hospital for a “planned abdominal surgery,” a statement from Kensington Palace read on Wednesday.
The royal family shared the news on social media, revealing that the Princess of Wales, 42, went to the London Clinic on Tuesday.
While the surgery was “successful,” she will remain in the hospital for 10 to 14 days before “returning home to continue her recovery.”
However, she is “unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”
“The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate,” the memo went on.

I had open heart surgery and was home in 5 days.
A hysterectomy takes up to 3 months to recover from I don't know if that's what it is.
Abdominal surgery is serious. They cut through ab muscle . Very painful recovery. Working on your guts is serious stuff too. Takes time for everything to start working right.

It could be serious I was in the hospital for three weeks with acute appendicitis In off work for a few months so obviously it could be that or she had some female organs removed and got an infection from either one who knows hope she feels better soon
I think you are right. Abdominal surgery is very serious, so anything she had done probably was very major. I truly hope she wasn't performing her royal duties in a large amount of pain.

I can bet this surgery is for a tummy tuck. Even though a 14 day hospital is an excessive amount of being in the hospital. I was discharged the very next day after mine. But, it did take 3 months at home recovering. If it were more serious than this the firm would have already published a press release!
I have been suspect of colon issues with the dear princess for some time now. I could be totally off base but if she needed part of her colon removed that could account for the extended hospital stay.
