- In this video of Living the Jo life, we explore the beautiful countryside of Central Java, Indonesia. After an hour’s drive from the city of Yogyakarta, we arrived at the Borobudur Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which is the largest Buddhist temple in the world. After a lovely walk around the temple and through the surrounding parks, we were guided through a large market which made it quite a D-tour to get back to our car. Next, we headed to the Air Terjun Kedung Kayang Lookout, with stunning views of Mount Merapi and a waterfall. On the way there, we saw multiple minor eruptions from Mount Merapi, which is Indonesia’s most active volcano. The lookout is a must-see and a perfect spot for picture-perfect Instagram photos. After a 1-hour drive to get closer to Mount Merapi, we jumped in a Jeep for a 4WD off-roading adventure along the lower slopes of Mount Merapi. The tour first took us to a museum set in a burnt house, showing the destruction of the recent 2010 volcanic eruption. From there, we headed to Batu Alien, which had magnificent views of Mount Merapi. We visited a bunker designed to escape volcanic eruptions before having a lot of fun speeding and splashing through a section of a nearby river. In the afternoon, we went for a drive through local villages and agricultural land before arriving at our last destination of the day: Prambanan Temple. Prambanan Temple is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia. We had an amazing day exploring the beautiful scenery and sites of Central Java, which we highly recommend visiting.

I suggest that if you continue your journey to the east, you can visit many beautiful places like pieces of heaven. There is Tumpak Sewu waterfall in Lumajang, Mount Bromo, Ijen Crater in Banyuwangi, and Baluran National Park in Banyuwangi and many other beautiful places in East Java.

Nice video. I had also great time in Yogyakarta and did some nice vlogs. But i went to Mount Merapi by motorbike, not with that Jeep tours. It looks fun, my motorbike had hard time with the slopes but I had the chance to stop often and admire the surrounding nature

Well that was different and interesting I must say. I can imagine all the work and time it would take to build all those temples and how hard it would be for the poor workers. I can imagine the time it would take to even plan it without figuring out where to place the first carved stone. Just amazing. I loved the views from that walkway through the forest and the view of the farming towns and fields. So pretty.
The Jeep rides looked fun...Oh you poor thing!!!! ..you got wet....sob. So thanks JO's for the fun show...Can't wait for what's coming next.. Till then Byeeeeeeeeee..
Yes it's crazy to think how they built those temples without modern technology. Definitely fascinating places to visit! The scenery was just so breathtaking. After travelling so much around the world it takes a bit to wow us but Java definitely did, it was truly one of the most beautiful places we have ever been to. Thanks for watching! 😊🙏
