The one message we're hearing over and over again, both from the players and from GMKA, is that Granato was too soft on the players. Granato is an awesome developmental coach, helping players find their best games, but he obviously wasn't the guy to press the right buttons night in and night out.
I dont think a group of 22 - 25 year olds can really know what is missing to get to them to the finals. But it seems that Granato doesn't either.
Man tuch, dahlin snd thompson all revealed a lot and exactly what us fans thought about donnie. He was amazing at developing players but his structure as a coach was lacking and even the players knew it and felt it and now yearn for more structure going forward
Everything happens for a reason! Granato good at developing the young team alittle further, now its time to bring in the coach that will take them to the playoffs. Ive said this to myself alot for the past decade, but I think next year will be a good year. Two years in a row wasnt enough for playoffs, but we are the cusp of it. Bring in the solid structure, and new coach!

Hopefully he will be named the teams captain .. by far the Sabres best player and leader
I think dahlin will get captain, he is the best player on this team and knows the game of hockey there is a chance it could be tage a very high one can’t wait to see

@@keveedarts3693 definitely not dahlin is better he may not have as many goals as Thomson but he’s a defense men and still he is above average for a defense men his skating his beautiful thomer fell apart this season this year was suppose to be his year

Honestly hoping the next coach isn’t just a barker. Probably why I think Lindy fits best.
He’ll get on you but he’s fair.
Accountability isn’t a problem with him as bench boss but there needs to be a voice from the players to echo that and hold them accountable.
Looking forward to next year.
