What a tribute to Aggies past and present! Its a true priviledge to know some of these great players of yesteryear via my uncle Grady Allen #89 and Wendell Housley #27 and Edd Hargett #10 and legendary Coach Gene Stallings! Aggies everywhere Gig' Em! Whoop!

The year I was born. My dad class of 1958 told me stories how Bear Bryant carried Gene Stallings after the game. Priceless

I was there with my town's high school marching band. After the parade we sat in the end zone about half way up.

I was in the Richardson, Tx Golden Eagle Band (62-65) and I had the privilege of watching Wendel Housley and Steve Higgens (went on to play for Ark.) every Friday night during football season. Wendel, Steve, and I were in the same grade, I saw Wendel score the A&M touchdown against Bama. Great games and great times.

So many great lines and references in this production - a virtual time capsule. Very entertaining.

In 2012 I ran into Wendel Housley in Plano, he could believe I remember he scored the winning touchdown in the Cotton Bowl game.

    "Alabama shows a spread formation"
    Never thought I'd hear that

Have always wondered about this game.
Gene Stallings and Texas A&M needed this bowl victory much more than Paul Bryant and Alabama needed it.
Bama was 8-1-1 and really had nothing to gain by winning and A&M was 6-4 having a helluva lot to gain with a win.
No secret that Stallings was Bryant's teacher's pet as an A&M player and former Bama assistant.
Never seen Bryant so apparently pleased immediately following a loss.
Objectively watch the complete game film and you be the judge.

Damn, I watched the entire thing in one sitting. It takes something captivating to capture my attention these days.

Very odd to watch a college football game with actual student-athletes playing rather than the minor league football prevalent today.

Why did Bama go for two?

Ah, the good old days. Segregated college football in Texas. By the way was only one style of hat available for sale in Texas? Several minutes in and no Ken Stabler shown.

You are wrong. Jerry LeVias was playing for SMU starting around 66.

I am not an Alabama fan first off. Teams from within the same state should not be playing in a bowl game. The advantage is unfair.

Texas A&M and Alabama are in the same state?

@@williamjordan5554 He's saying teams shouldn't play Bowl Games in their own state. Texas Houston Baylor and Texas A&M have lost a number of Cotton Bowls over the years. Then again it was easier for Ohio State to beat USC in Cotton Bowl compared to 🌹
