    I just started using Kadence over the weekend. It's great, and I think it solves a lot of issues I had with Astra. Specifically the blog post options.

    • @StartBlogging101
      @StartBlogging101  Před 3 lety +3

      Absolutely. When I had all of my websites on Astra, the blog post options felt so limited (along with the ability to build my desired header). I didn't understand why I couldn't easily show various meta options such as the Last Updated Date without writing custom code. And, let's be honest, nobody should ever have to use a page builder just to show the Last Updated Date on your blog post. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying Kadence so far, Doug!

    • @StartBlogging101
      @StartBlogging101  Před 3 lety +7

      No problem, glad it helped you out! So, if you have a site using the Astra theme with Elementor and want to switch to Kadence, you can still switch to Kadence and keep Elementor on your site and any of your pages built with Elementor shouldn't be affected at all. Eventually, if you want to switch everything to using the WordPress Gutenberg editor, though, you'll have to redo pages that were built in Elementor to be built using Gutenberg. However, that only needs to be done if you decide to remove Elementor otherwise Elementor will work perfectly fine after switching to Kadence :)

      @@StartBlogging101 Jake it worked 100%, thank you much appreciated. If you could do a full on online store tutorial on the Kadence theme it would really help, like a full on tutorial with no step skipped. Setting up of menus, how to set your desired pages only to show on the top of the website as the main menu, creating 'returns' pages, 'privacy policy' pages and how add these links to these pages only at the footer of the website, how to setup a 'terms and conditions' box as well before a customer checks out to make payment etc. The reason I ask is because this theme is fairly new to me and most users as well and it takes a bit of time to learn this theme fully. Can you assist with this perhaps? This theme is really powerful and much more customizable than any other theme that I have used before, like you I have also been using the astra theme on most sites that I have designed previously. • @StartBlogging101
      @StartBlogging101  Před 2 lety

      Hi Marcos! Schema markup is built into any well-coded theme already including Kadence. Schema markup is pretty simple and basically just defines various parts of your site (header, sidebar, article, etc) so that Google "knows" the various sections of your website. If you're referring to going in and creating custom schema (for example, say you have a recipe that you want to show up on Google), I highly recommend using a dedicated SEO plugin for that since that is their specialty. I use the free RankMath plugin for almost all custom schema. But Kadence doesn't have a "custom schema" type of plugin.

    • @StartBlogging101
      @StartBlogging101  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey Garth! Thanks for the comment. I personally believe you should keep both the published date and the updated date in the code... Google is pretty smart at figuring out which one to show based on when the post was updated, etc, but if you do want to remove the published date from code, I'm not 100% sure on that right now. There may be a filter hooked up that would allow you to remove it using a code snippet, but I would reach out to Kadence's support and ask them as they would know better.

      Hey Scott! Could you be a little more specific on what you mean here? When designing your website, many people prefer to go the "mobile first" approach where they design everything to look good in mobile first and then branch out from there to tablet and then desktop. However, if using spacing and everything the way it was intended, all 3 screen sizes should look good when developing a website with Kadence or any responsive WordPress theme. One thing that will mess up mobile views is adding tons of padding or margins to areas in desktop which is then "inherited" down to mobile and will mess up your views.

      I can add it to my list to make a comparison video, but I already know the outcome. :) Divi and its builder are very bloated, so even though Divi offers a lot of options, it will load much slower than any site built with Kadence and Gutenberg.

      Is there no way to make Divi website faster?

      @StartBlogging101  Před 3 lety

      @@indian3960 Sure, you can always optimize it to help improve speed, but I've been doing some speed tests between using the built-in Gutenberg editor with WordPress and page builders such as Elementor and the Gutenberg versions are much faster even after optimizing page builders. The same would be true for Divi.

      OK, So we can use Divi builder on kadence theme. I think that will be very fast. But still, wait when DIVI will become more bloat-free and lighter.

    Thanks for the review. But kadence is 199 per year now and lifetime is 649$. Is that normal ?

      Hi there, glad you liked it! And yes, Kadence has added a TON of new features, several new plugins, and many more blocks to their Kadence Blocks pack since this video and the prices have gone up as they add more.

    were you in any way biased? Because you made me completely pro Kadence by this video.

      Nope, I was not biased in any way. In fact, I have zero exclusive ties with either Kadence or Astra. I'm simply an affiliate for both of them and Kadence has a vast amount of advantages over Astra.
