16 years old and fearless is why Melo will continue to grow in his basketball skills. No matter what the competition is right now, it's good to see him succeed in an environment where he's not played against his opponents before.
Ok, before uninformed haters come in here lying about how they're playing a 17 year old JV team, allow me to rebut their lies and hate right now:
Jonava is an NKL (2nd Divison) professional team out of Lithuania. They are currently 16-14 on the season and sitting at 6th in their league standing shortly before playoffs begin.
They also have 3 experienced American professionals on their roster who played tonight and got a triple double on their head.
1) Ebuka Anyaorah is 27 years old averaging 14 PPG and 4 RPG.
2) John Brisco is 24 years old averaging 11 PPG and 5 APG.
3. Bryton Hobbs is 26 years old averaging 10 PPG and 3 APG.
& for the people who are saying there's no defense, ummm, how about you watch the REAL game and not highlights to come and hate. Just a thought. It may seem as there's no defense b/c that's how drastic the separation is from a 1st Division team to a 2nd Division team. The budgets are way larger for better American imports and the European talent is much more seasoned. The worst 1st Division team will spank any team in the 2nd Division that's not holding a Top 3 standing. This is in virtually in every European league. So clearly, there will be separation. So possibly be aware of what's actually going on over here before you hate on these two kids EVERY single time they have a successful outing. Relax and go do something productive with your life. BBB.

That pass to Bristol at 1:14, (who by the way is a 30 years old former Fordam college basketball player) just shows the potential of Lamelo, for a 16 year old to have that kind of vision and to throw that lob pass with such easy and pinpoint perfection is pretty jaw dropping. Let's face it, Lamelo was getting bored of the high school scene playing against kids who provided no challenge at all, this kid has been tearing up the AAU and high school scene since 13-14 years old. If Lamelo stays focused and keeps working hard, he will go down as one of the greatest to ever play the game. Another genius move by Lavar getting his kids out of school to focus on their basketball career, these European players have been catching up fast talent-wise because they turning pro as teenagers, while kids in the USA, have to try to pretend they go to school. At this point, Lamelo going to the NBA is no longer a question, he will easily be a top 5 pick when the time comes, scouts are salivating at the play making potential and shooting ability of this 16 year old.

A K the kid looks great but to say he’s gonna be one of the best to play the game is absolutely stupid and hurts any type of credibility you could have. This Lithuania league is legit of course but the opposite team was terrible. Their 5 and 4 weren’t even a foot taller than melo but I’m not saying anything about the kid and his skill set. He can ball, just sayin you goin way to far in assuming his future

The expectation is that LaMelo Ball will remain Lithuanian, for years and LiAngelo will enter the draft this year. If he does not make the NBA, he no doubts return to Vytautas for further development. This could be the last of Lavar in the USA, as the big baller brand expands he needs lower cost labour(8400 euros a year average salary), and Lithuania is the perfect place for him to do it.
