Wouldn’t say the umpires were biased, I think it is terribly hard to umpire, but that free kick against Brayshaw was really annoying. He kicked it in order to push forward, but the funny bounce got him.
So the bloke who double fisted the ball gave it away, umps made the split second decision to say that he already knew it was going out and they penalised him for trying to slow down play.
Spot on mate. If he pays it out of bounds as he should have Geelong probably win. Even when the 50 is paid if you listen carefully you can here the umpire tell the other umpire that the mark is 45 out. That umpire then sets the mark just inside 50, maybe 49 at best robbing Lever of that incredibly important 4 or 5 metres. If he set the mark correctly at 45 Lever much more likely to take the shot but probably unlikely to convert and again Geelong win. Umpires flat out cheated Melbourne twice in the last 30 seconds but it worked out in Melbourne’s favour. Bit of footy karma
