    Some people aren't liking the negative reviews? I'd rather watch 15 days of shitty foundations honestly and fairly reviewed by you than watch one single foundation review by any other CZcamsr. This series is just that good. I love how you do these. It just works, and even though I have completely different skin issues than you, I can usually tell from your reviews whether or not a product will be one I like.

    • @tj9813
      @tj9813 Před 6 lety +6

      Shelley Stark same. I've only sought out bad reviews on this brand. I have no desire to see some YTer try Their best to get onto that PR list. We've saw what these PR packages have done to some of our favorites. So now when a new product comes out, I ONLY WANT THE CONS. Then I can truly decide for myself.

    girl you have never steered me wrong! I use the same foundation shade as you and the ones that you have loved in the past are now some of my holy grails! I don't get why people even say that..." so sick of negative reviews" then go to someone else's channel that only gives positive reviews and tell me that you wouldn't complain about only positive reviews... ugh people these days 🤔🤔

    You're the first person I've seen with textured skin to test the product and I'm glad you did! I don't have baby smooth skin like the other CZcamsrs that tried it, so this video has been super informative. I don't have acne or anything, but I do get small bumps here and there, and I have a hyperpigmentation spot on my cheek that is textured. Thanks for trying it out!

      Steffy Rodriguez the small holes on your skin that you described on your skin, is that like texture? I have some texture on my skin but it's a different type of texture (not as noticeable as hers) and I really want this Foundation and am hoping I don't have the first impression as she does.

      Question, how does cruelty free work for makeup? I've seen things like 'Final product not tested on animals' on soap that i have bought. Made me think 'Well, does that mean the 500 combinations, before finalizing the soap formula, were still tested on animals?' Is it similar with makeup?

      Katherine i don't think you understood my comment. i was being kinda sarcastic, I think its funny/ironic that there are foundations created that really only suit "good" skin types and this new fenty foundation seems like one of those oxymoronic products. from what I've seen it suits skin that has the ideal amount of moisture and very little to no obvious texture. But thanks so much for sharing that game changing info!

      Yes! I got a sample from the store and I loved it!! My skin looked flawless and smooth all day. No breaking up or showing texture. I bought a bottle and my makeup has been caking up and showing every flaw, my skin looks patchy. I’ve even started breaking out with it and I never break out. I typically have great skin (it’s the one thing I have going for me 🤣) . I devastated about it though bc I LOVED the sample, had high hopes and it isn’t cheap.

I really love what this line has done shade wise. I think it's amazing! And I totally applaud them for that. Formula wise it's hard because skin types are very different. My skin is not even the same as it was 2 or 3 years ago. (Getting older suuucks!) The highlight looks stunning! They did come out with a good amount of products for the first launch too. Hopefully they will come out with a more moisturizing formula at some point. Thank you for testing it out ❤

    You’re the only CZcams channel I follow for makeup reviews partially bc your face is so textured, you put a lot on and you apply it really well and wear it for a long time. The girls who have naturally flawless skin...for me it already seems like the review may not apply to me. I don’t have your typical definition of acne, but I have eczema and redness prone combination skin, enlarged pores, and have painful cystic acne breakouts if I have heavy dairy or chocolate (which I’ve removed from my diet by now). I have heavy laugh lines for a 24 year old and I pretty much always avoid highlighters bc I have some cystic scars/remnants on my cheekbones and it draws attention to them. It’s really useful to see what the makeup looks like over your acne bc it’s important to me to be able to cover isolated breakouts when they happen. You’re also as fair as me!! I guess I’ve been taking it for granted that your reviews are so awesome too. I can’t afford to buy bad makeup based on good reviews. My bank account can’t handle that!! Seriously you’re the the reviewer for me! don’t change!!

    For all my fellow baerritos, I would definitely recommend trying a sample of the product if you have dry skin before you buy! I have very dry skin and I absolutely love it. It doesn't look dry on me at all, doesn't crease or settle in to fine lines. I love it so much that I went and bought a second shade. So don't count it out just yet! :)

      Kelsey Sherwin do you use it with a primer?
      I love the colour, love the rest of the brand and want to support Rihanna. I also really like the airbrushed semi matte finish this foundation gives from a distance.
      But up close it looks SO DRY. It accentuates dry patches I never even knew I had. I exfoliate and use good moisturizers and oils, but this just makes my nose and between my eyebrows look SO flaky I can't even wear it in public or I look like a crazy person.
      At this point I am just relieved I only got a sample- but i really wanted it to work and would like to buy it if I can find a way

    • @KelseyVollrath
      @KelseyVollrath Před 6 lety +11

      My favourite way to use it is actually with the Fenty primer. I really do believe that they formulated that primer to work alongside the foundation. I have tried the foundation with my normal everyday primers (too faced hangover Rx and Urban Decay Optical Illusion), and I didn't like the finished look near as much as when I use the Fenty primer. Try a sample of it under the foundation and see if it makes a difference :)

      Kelsey Sherwin I have dry skin too with some visible pores and texture and this foundation looks great on me, super smooth , it's really wierd. I kinda can't believe this is the same product. On me it darkens a shade almost immediately. It almost looks like something Is reacting wierd with it and causing it to pill or ball up.. Taylor said she heard this was one you really have to prep your skin for - perhaps something in a skin care product was incompatible and made it pill. From my experience it is hard to predict what kind of products will be incompatible except trial and error - the silicone based, oil based, water based suggestion doesn't always true. Taylor, I know you switched out your primer ... are you using new skincare or something that might be causing these foundations to not play nice ? The Lottie London looked like it may have been having the same issue, same with the koh gen doh last season, and possibly the ysl all hours .

    • @gbtunney
      @gbtunney Před 6 lety +4

      JennyWas13 I have dry skin and it looks really good on me , and super smooth for some reason. I have been using belief aqua bomb, biore watery essence sunscreen and that new peach primer sample from too faced . It also sits good over Nivea cream and /or Embryolisse. Maybe something In your skincare /primer is not playing nice with it for some reason? I constantly have problems with foundations and sunscreens pilling, and oddly enough this one sits better on my skin than most..

      The Goddess Demeter That's the problem with fucking terminology. There can be so many skin types that can be described as "dry". Some people mean dehydrated skin, some mean aged skin, some mean having fine lines, and some mean having dry patches and flakey skin.
      I have dry-sensitive skin and just hearing "matte finish" I could tell it won't look good on me, and how it looks on Taylor is exactly how most matte foundations look on me so I totally understand her. (also how does she use pore minimizing primers on her dry forhead is beyond me...)

      Admittedly I have pretty flawless skin in terms of texture/acne, but I have a very uneven skin tone on my face. I also have combination skin, so typically I have a problem with mattifying foundations clinging to dry areas and hydrating foundations getting too oily/causing breakouts. The Fenty foundation does neither of those; it mattifies without clinging to any dry skin I have and doesn't cause breakouts. I do use a moisturizing primer (Too Faced HangoveRx) which makes a difference vs the silicone primer (Nyx Studio Perfect Primer) and the other foundation I used that clung to every little dry spot (Nyx Stay Matte But Not Flat Foundation). The same product can work differently for different people, and the primer used can absolutely make a difference. Silicone primer is NOT for dry skin, and isn't recommended if you're using mattifying products on top (I also use Tarte Shape Tape Concealer which is extremely matte); for combination skin it then depends on how your skin reacts to it/if you're using a hydrating foundation on top. For me, I know I need a hydrating primer, matte foundation, matte concealer to keep my combination skin in check. So yes, the way the products interact matters.

    I HATED the foundation the first day I wore it. But then I added some Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Oil to my face (in lieu of my Tarte Drink of H2O moisturizer) and used the Fenty primer all over. Now, it wears beautifully on my skin! I apply with a Sigma F80 kabuki and then pat it down with my beauty blender. This one definitely took a lot of playing with to get it right but now I love it! Hope this helps someone!
    BTW I have combination acne prone skin - normal everywhere but oily-ish t-zone.

      kcharlesbeauty I really feel that this must be a product that needs to be used with the primer.
      It looks SO DRY on my dry bits to the point where yesterday i had to take my face off and start all over again (and i usually use matt foundations). But seeing people use it with the primer it really does look nice.
      The issue with that is that it basically makes it twice the price if you NEED to buy the primer with it.

Too drying for my skin and I shouldn't have to manipulate a product with 3 other base products for it to work when I have so many other products I don't even use primer with that work :( I really hope she comes out with a dewy formula because I would be all over that!!

    I love that you actually use closeups. I have no clue how foundations actually look on a certain crowd. Their closeups are what you start with before you do a closeup. Keep that up girl, you're our champion!

    Yeah I'm not a Beyonce person anymore Rihanna is better but she really took her time. You can tell she cares about her line 40 shade and that's just the start more to come love it.

      Beyoncé doesn't have a makeup brand. How the hell does this correlate to this video? Like congratulations you don't like Beyoncé anymore? Lmao. I'm not even trying to come off as rude, but it seems like people want a award for not liking Beyoncé or something 💀.

    • @TraishaP

      I know a lot of people are unaware this line was a shot at Beyonce. That's why Beyonce is mentioned every time somebody talks about the Fenty makeup line. It has nothing to do with Beyonce not having a makeup line. It has to do with the fact that Rihanna took a shot at the makeup world, the entire makeup world. She also want to Beyonce to know she better she's kind of just Beyonce relevant. because whether people realize this or not the entire line is in the shape of a hive. there's plenty of shade(s) in this line. Lol

    I don't have similar skin to yours, and I'm not pale either. I just watch your videos because I love your personality and your honest opinion about how foundations work for you. Thanks for an honest review once again. 💖
    I'm dying to try this foundation, hopefully it will work with my skin. 🙌

    SO appreciative of this review. I have tried many foundations over the years and most, for one reason or another, just don't work on me. Sometimes they just don't have a color match with the undertone (as was the case in the Maybelline FitMe Matte and Poreless, which was a big bummer) or they are patchy, etc. I have watched a lot of reviews of this foundation and despite it's claims of being medium to full coverage, I haven't watched anyone use it and had it perform really well. That's not to say that there hasn't been a lot of raving about it. I think many YT's are afraid to say they don't like it because of people complaining in the comments, but the fact is that this foundation hasn't seemed to live up to it's claims. Perhaps in the future, they can come up with other formula's and solve some of the issues people have had with this one. The color range seems great, especially out of the gate, but we all know that we expect a whole lot more than just a color that matches.

    I have normal, pretty clear skin and this foundation looked the EXACT SAME on me. Made it look like I had so much texture and my nose looked crazy too. 🙈

    So glad I watched this video. I have adult acne/combo skin, texture etc and bought this foundation last night. I didn't have time to test it before work this morning and was so excited to use it... but I stuck with my ole stand by after seeing how it turned out on similar skin to mine..

    It did the same thing to me! I used 120 and have normal / dry skin. I exfoliated, used a serum, then moisturizer, and then a hydrating primer..I had to wash it off cuz it was so horrible I wouldn't leave my house like that. I really wanted it to work. Hopefully there is alot of men/women that this will work great for

    I find that with very matte foundations adding 1-3 drops of argon oil helps to make it smoother. Also I use the oil with my KVD L41 and it makes it so pretty!!!
