      Thank you for doing these videos. My daughter is getting into disc golf and it's hard for me to show her what to do because she's a lefty and I'm a righty. It's so great to have a lefty like yourself putting out these videos for someone like her!

    Awesome advice!
    I was with a buddy at a tournament and we were practicing putting and he was missing some 30 footers so I told him to come up to where I was about 15 feet away and just hang them in one after another and build that confidence.
    Great video. 👏👏

    Thanks for confirming what I thought I was seeing. I’m fairly new to the game, but as a push putter, I definitely notice that the times I miss to the side is almost always when I try to get tricky and add extra spin.
    Great stuff, thanks!!

    I started out a spin putter but I've slowed the spin some and push more, so I'm in that spush putting hybrid category now. I find mixing the two helps me dial in the power level to not go too far past the basket if I airball, or if I hit it badly. It's a bit of a goldilocks situation where the putts aren't too high, low, left, right, close or far. And I can introduce more spin or push based on situational needs. Thank you for the video, Chris!

    Hey Chris, excellent video. Just started about 3 months ago, and I am a spin putter from Day - One and getting more consistent from 20- 25 feet out. I started wearing gloves yesterday and amazingly I can actually throw better with a glove than without?? Lol's I even changed my grip on tee shots from the power grip, to almost the same grip I use when putting, and I totally eliminated the wobble I had after release...that is so crazy! Lol's

    Rule question.....
    I notice, when I'm practicing, if I know the exact pace count out to about 9 paces, I hit 95%. If I'm not sure if it is 7 paces or 9 paces...or 6 paces or 8 paces...I make about 67% ( yes, I'm ocd. No, that doesn't help me on the course).
    During play, is it OK for me to pace my putt to the basket before I putt?

    • @jdeev3450
      @jdeev3450 Před 2 lety +1

      I believe so as long as you putt within 30 seconds (if we’re talking official).

  • @kjetildg
    @kjetildg Před 2 lety +1

    so, you are saying push putting you are still spinning. Why? Can you elaborate?

    • @Ali_2401
      @Ali_2401 Před 2 lety

      When I push putt, I flick my wrist just slightly before release to add power and control to my putts. A lot of people would call this a spush putt because it's a combination of both spin and push.

  • @steviewonder2492
    @steviewonder2492 Před 9 měsíci

    I’m relatively new to the sport and still don’t see much of a difference between a spin and push put. I don’t even know what I’m doing. So both methods spin the disc. Is it just about how much flick in the writs there is?

    • @dynamicdiscs
      @dynamicdiscs  Před 9 měsíci

      Great question! Here's how to look at it:
      A disc with more spin usually floats better, so if your putt has more of an arc to its flight, it's probably closer to a push putt.
      If your putt flies more directly straight at the basket, it's probably considered a spin putt. But it's a spectrum. (Some push putters have more spin and vice versa.)
      For the most part, if your wrist is curling as you pull the disc back, you're probably spin-putting.
      Does that help?

    I think also a worthy question is......."How long does it take to build good form?" I see the pro's changing their putts after years of using a particular style....YES, the CORE remains same somewhat but how do world champions just lose (in part to various levels) that good form they've spent years building??? and have executed under some big pressure moments..... the psychology of putting is also fascinating!?.... i.e. "hot putting days & shitty drives" and vice-versa......OH WHY, OH WHY does this happen ??????

    I love the channel and vids but I really don't need to see your channel metrics though. kinda of a weird youtuber fad showing viewers the metrics. Kinda comes off as desperate and passive aggressive. Just ask us nicely to like/subscribe and keep making awesome videos. Actually, in the same time it takes to cut away and show us your channel metrics you could ask us to like/subscribe twice. You catch more bees with honey than metrics.

    Push putting is trash unless you want to spend years developing the goofy, unintuitive hand popping motion that makes it work.
