- An essential tool kit for horticulturists, gardeners, allotment holders, etc! I have six years experience working outdoors with my own gardening business. These are tools I’ve invested in as they are ones that are really easy to use, keep clean, keep sharp and will last a long time.
I really recommend choosing tools wisely and spending your money on a tool that has quality and longevity. However, affordability is also important so if you are looking for inexpensive versions of these tools then look for strong, sturdy types as they will last longer. Avoid plastics and weak metal.

How tall is your tripod ladder? I am thinking of getting one for trimming crabapple trees in our front yard and was wondering which size would be more useable for garden trees? Thank you.
I believe it’s the 6ft (1.8m) one, very useful for fruit tree pruning as you can get up through the middle of them ☺️
I've come to the conclusion that you're a rake theif! In one of your other videos you talk about a rake you've acquired from B&Q, however you say up until that point you've never stepped foot in B&Q. "Elementary, my dear Watson". I jest if course.
On a more serious note, I'm starting to take a liking to the products that the Japanese have to offer, including the tripod ladder. I was wondering if you've used any seceuteurs by Okatsune or Niwaki and have any thoughts on them? Or if you have thoughts on Japanese tools in general compared to some of the European brands?
It’s true I didn’t buy it from the shop! Most of my tools are second hand ☺️ good spotting! Yeah I have the okatsune 103 secateurs and they are excellent, very sharp and smaller/lighter to handle which is nice but the blade is more fragile than felco snips so I use it for specialised pruning like roses, topiary, etc rather than tree pruning 😎
