+ Jorge Ponce ALL goalkeepers became impressive when they played the Dutch. They HAD to be or else they,d have the score card higher. But yeah, 74 world Cup showcased some pretty great GKers
@@aracelymoran2504 3 of the 4 Dutch goals were shots at point blank or very close range. The GK made great saves; otherwise the Dutch would've scored 3-4 more goals.

Penso che l'Olanda di quel mondiale sia stata la nazionale più forte di tutti i tempi. E meno male che il portiere bulgaro era veramente molto bravo.
Quella squadra è stata un'esplosione unica e incredibile del più grande calcio che ci sia mai stato e non credo che accadrà mai più, è un evento unico, è stato grandioso.

What a tremendous kit clash! Why didn't the Netherlands wear an away white kit for this match? By the way, Bulgaria was the nominal host team and had priority in the choice of color, and their first kit choice was white and green.

Cruyuff - The first of a long line of Strikers (Van Basten, Bergkamp, Kluivert, Van Nistelroooy, Van Persie, and now possibly Gapko?). But as a side note, after USSR, Bulgaria was one of the best to come out of E. Europe in the late 60s to mid 70s. From mid 70s onward Poland would be the best coming out of E. Europe along with Checoslovakia (who although never went to the WC 74 and 78 reached the Semifinals in Euro 76 and 80).

Cruyff was far above all those that you mentioned... and you forgot Roben who was better than them, although not as good as Cruyff. Cruyff belongs to the Golden List: Pelé, Di Stefano, Puskas, Maradona, Romario, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho Gaucho, ... Messi y Cristiano.

Actually the back days Bulgarian national team would smash almost every nowadays national team in the world and it`s not a bullsh.t. We had players like Asparuhov, Kotkov , Iakimov, Sokolov, etc. who were wanted by teams like Milan, Barcelona, Bayern, but of course it was not allowed to leave Bulgaria to Western football team back there during the communistic regime.Bulgarian team was very good skilled, but of course not compared to Germany, Netherlands, Portugal , Brasil or Hungary. Nowadays football level is just lower than the football 50 years ago, it is just much more agresiv and fast.

Cómo se mueve e intenta atajar el primer penal el golero de Bulgaria es uno de los intentos más cómicos y grotescos de intentar atajar un penal que he visto no sólo en la Historia de los Mundiales sino en la Historia del Fútbol Mundial.
Finalmente, me parece que cuando iba Holanda 2 a 0, después hubo penal para Bulgaria. Me deja muchas dudas esa jugada. A veces cuando un equipo va siendo figura de un Mundial, como lo fue sin duda Holanda en ese Mundial del 74, con países pequeños, los árbitros tienden a perjudicar a la selección menos fuerte, en este caso, Bulgaria.
Obvio que el relato no es original.

Yes, it's surprising isn't it. Mind you, it was only yesterday that I read that in 1978 a match between France and another team- might even have been Bulgaria- had a strange kit problem. Both teams had arrived with only white kits, so France had to wear the colours of a local club side! It was, apparently, the fourth and last time that a country has had to do this in the world cup.
@@danyoutube7491 You are right, but it was against Hungary; Bulgaria didn't qualify for 1978 World Cup. But I had no idea it was the 4-th time such a thing happened. I don't understand how complicated it was to check in advance, so both teams won't arrive with same color shirts!!

That match was between France and Hungary, and it was played in Mar del Plata a famous city over the South Atlantic ocean. France played with the T-shirt of a team of the 3rd. category, called "Kimberley". One of those T-shirts is exhibited in the FIFA museum, in Zurich.
