  • Personal data is a precious commodity but sometimes we can share too much? Rob thinks we need to develop our human firewall in an age where some much of our lives is online. Rob May is chairman of IoD Surrey, an award-winning entrepreneur and Managing Director of ramsac limited.
    Rob makes complex subjects straightforward by using real life examples, humour and pragmatism. He is passionate about his work, positive about life and committed to helping people understand and grow.
    He lives with his wife and children in Horsell and is very much a part of the local community. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

    I think it was well done and gets to the point on a topic that should be taken more seriously and that is our part to protect our cyber privacy.

    An amazing talk that identifies that everyone needs to be aware that they are the main defense against cybersecurity attacks for the organization they work for. It is so true that most organizations tick the "I have a policy for this" box and carry on as before.

    Stop blaming end users and employees. Poor IT practices lead to breaches. Yes, end users need to have common sense understanding of cyber attacks but educating them is just one of the aspects of cyber security.

      This isn't a case of blame, the issue is too many people rely on IT being the solution, to your point, IT is a part of the solution, as is employee education. You can have all the best IT practices in the world but if a helpful member of your team opens the door and invites a criminal in those defences are negated.
