    You’re literally the best golf teacher on CZcams. And I’ve watched a lot. No one explains the key movements as well as you. You’re correcting the actual problems golfers tend to have and addressing each one with the opposite effects in a very detailed manner. Which is great, but you take it a step further not just by giving tips but actually explaining what each body part should be doing throughout the swing. I watched two videos and played the best golf I’ve played all year today. I added 20-30 yards on all my clubs. Mostly everything straight. I even eliminated the slice on my drive and I’ve tried so many different things. Payed for multiple lessons and subscriptions. Wish I found you sooner.

    Troy, I think this drill is going to help a lot. How about combining it with the hand path drill (alignment stick)? Any reason not to?

    Troy- You are amazing! I have just heard from this video the very best description of sequencing the downswing during transition ever that makes sense to me. Not sure you intended it that way but here it is. My interpretation anyway.
    From the top of the back swing to left arm parallel (the transition phase) , there are three sequenced components that occur- (1) pressure shift onto instep of lead foot, (2) twisting of hips so lower body leads the twist holding back upper body-often referred to as the separation and (3)shallowing of club shaft to get on plane.
    The proper transition greatly facilitates moving into the slot position but that is the next phase of the downswing before impact most of which is fairly automatic and natural..

    Thanks Troy for another good video. My one question is how to shift weight left from top of backswing and still keep head behind ball at impact, which seems to be a fundamental rule of the downswing.

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks Chris, with the driver it's more important to keep the head behind the ball. It's not so critical with the iron shots. With irons we want to compress the ball so it's okay for the head to stay more on top of the golf ball. When your downswing commences feel as though you're getting pressure into your lead foot/instep feel your lead hip in particular rotating out of the way. This should help keep the body rotating and a better head position at impact. Hope that helps. Cheers

    Cheers Troy, finding it hard to eliminate the early extension issues, plenty of good scores, playing off 14 and scoring lower than 14 at times but still not 100% happy with the strike....and the look at impact not correct. Also so much content from people and different explanations it’s easy to get bogged down with it!

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks Garry, yes I totally understand about the many ways of eliminating early extension. I guess without seeing your swing I'd check that you're getting enough rotation in the downswing, Assuming you have a square clubface, another great way is to feel your left glute pushing back away from the ball and getting more side bend in the downswing. Similar to what Dustin Johnson does. Your head will be slightly side on at impact and just past impact. I feel this is an easy, more natural way of staying in that posture. Hope that helps. Cheers

      Thanks for advice Troy.
      I think you’ve seen my swing sent it to you a while back and you kindly took a look, you had pointed out about my early extension.
      I been working hard to fix it and will continue to do so. Thankyou mate.

    videos shows\ pros moving lower body and shoulders forward thru impact, but you seem to prefer
    what looks like staying in the barrel thru downswing. Is that correct?

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  Před 2 lety +2

      Yes, correct Frank. I feel for most of us amateurs it's an easier and more achievable way to get to a better impact position. Cheers

    Hi Troy what is your what is your dominant arm can you go back with your left arm and come back down with your right arm or is that just wrong. Steven. England 🇬🇧

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Steven, you can do that. But, make sure you dominant arm doesn't take over especially in the downswing.Make sure you feel your trail elbow is lower than the lead arm in the downswing. Cheers

    Why do so many ‘anti-slice’ videos advocate starting to rotate at the P6 position Troy?

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  Před 3 lety +4

      Hi Mike,
      Most likely because they feel turning your shoulders too early will cause an over the top move and slice the golf ball.
      If you shallow the golf club properly you want slice the golf ball and will be able to rotate efficiently right through the downswing. Cheers
