Dionna Bratcher no worries, I get what you’re saying. I don’t blame Maria, though. it’s the fault of media for constantly using white as the default. She probably didn’t even notice until she actually looked for other ethnicities. Many non-poc don’t realize when poc’s are underrepresented because they’re over represented so aren’t paying attention. When they start paying attention, like Maria did in this instance as she was trying to match colors, she realized the issue. But again, it takes observation for some.

It’s not an ethnic hair/beauty magazine so it’s not a surprise it features mostly lighter skin... ethnic hair is an entire industry in itself.

Let me just say I’ve watched this an embarrassing number of times. It’s my new favorite. 😂 Since I underwent radiation, I have to constantly get up in the night to use the restroom. Now I just go ahead and turn this video back on so I can fall asleep to it again. You are truly the best at ASMR. I am so thankful for you.
I never would have made it through chemo and radiation, or the year after, without Maria. I found her several years before and fell asleep to her often, but with my cancer treatments, she was a must. And although sleep will never be the same, it does get better. ❤️ I wish you clean scans and deep healing.

Black isn’t for everyone (according to this theory, of course). When I had my analysis I found out black is out of my palette, it was a surprise because I have a lot of black clothing. I keep wearing it, but coincidentally people always ask me if I’m tired or sick when I’m in all black!

Hairstyle magazines cater to specific audiences, because hair textures are different. There is a whole genre of Black hairstyle magazines. This one happens to be a white one. It’s not that deep.

There’d be a range of different bottles, essential oil scents, ingredients like flowers, but they’d be made for specific people or pop culture characters. That would be a fun idea for Halloween!

I never had an older sister growing up so I spent a lot of time alone and had to learn a lot about life on my own. I always get such a loving older sister vibe from Maria. Like she just loves us so purely and is such a wonderful person to look up to and learn from. ❤

Can relate to all the people here. My mother never cared about fashion and stuff, and never was into the idea of educating me on anything - she was at all more like "idk I don't care do things yourself, you're a big girl now I ain't checking anything". I never had a big sister figure in my life either despite craving for it really hard. I still stick to people who have that kind of energy though, or someone who has the motherly attitude, too.

In fairness, afro hair care mags and straight hair mags are just two different worlds. I dont expect to see any non women of color in a black hair care magazine or vice versa. It wouldn't make sense from a publishing perspective either. If most of their readers are white with non afro hair it wouldnt make sense to sprinkle a couple of different hair textures in there just for the sake of diversity. I should just let Maria know about Hype Hair magazine. 💗

Agreed with green. I haven't had issues with navy blue either. I think darker shades are better and you've gotta stay far, far away from orange. 🤣
The key for redheads (natural) is jewel tones...sapphire, emerald, amethyst. But sometimes colors surprise you. I absolutely love hot peachy corals and I probably shouldn’t but they somehow work.

2. Fabric Sounds
3. Your creative decision-making
4. The top down perspective

I've discovered a "funny" trigger, for me. Watching people clean something, very carefully, methodical. Preferably while they explain what they are doing. For example, I get so much asmr when the girl that cleans at my place of work is working. Watching clean the kitchen cabinets, or the fridge... I can so easily imagine you doing a video like that, like you did the towel folding tutorials and ironing... 🥰
Ughh I wish more cleaning ASMRs existed! I discovered that was a trigger for me when I was in hospital, and the cleaning lady would come in and wipe down the sink and bed rails carefully and I was just like nnnnnnnnggg I'm going to sleep now, thank you

People let’s not forget that in a real colour analysis sesión they would cover her hair. Ex. The red haired girl it’s not her natural hair color, the only wait they won’t cover your hair is if it’s your natural hair colour. Cuz what they try to find are your wow colors, regardless of the hair colour you have at the moment, at times it might not be “the right one” for you. Either way very entertaining and relaxing video ❤️

OMG Maria, as soon as this video started and you took a deep breath, I immediately was tuned in. Not sure what it is but those unintentional deep breaths, mouth clicking sounds that simply comes naturally is what makes your ASMR videos so super relaxing. I've seen other artists try to recreate your sounds and you can definitely tell it's NOT real. Everything about you is natural and I think your natural beauty, transparency, down to earth attitude is what viewers can relate to. I seriously thank you for HBO (helping a brutha out) Lol cuz I've suffered from insomnia for years. My hubby says whatever works to give me rest. Lol
