    Love me an FE! I have a ‘66 Galaxie. Took a 390 pullout, re bearing’d it slipped a mild street cam in with sidewinder intake, Lemans carb and shorty headers. Aluminum flywheel, 4spd and 4:20 traction loc. Thing raps like a smallblock and gets gone quick! I’m guessing turns around 7 grand. Cast pistons an all! “For now”! Lol

    I had a 1957 Ranchero with 428 CJ loaded with 427MR parts. Factory 2x4 intake and 427cam and rockets. I still smile thinking of how hard it pulled when the go pedal went down. It had a big spline top loaded with Hurst Ram 4

    This is a first for me, I've never known of anyone building a 352 for performance!
    Why not though, it should be a screamer!

      It's not a logical build, but I'm glad someone is willing to try. It'd be interesting to see this engine supplant a 351 Windsor, Cleveland, or M in a 70s vehicle. For farts and giggles, how would a built 352 perform in say a 73 Mach 1?

    I agree about it being fun to do the under dogs. Its fun to watch & learn about them & know what they can do in real world stuff. I see so many stroker builds or aluminum head builds that claim to be budget. I dont know who's budget but not mine. I still have to work with old iron heads & I have alot of fun with them still. I like to see builds that are like what I work with. This is it.

    234 hp is about a 26 hp increase from factory rating.....Ive got a 67 352 F-250.....Ive got a 390 1974 truck engine to swap into my 250 and all the important 352 Hi Po parts (Heads ,intake and exhaust) to build a 360 hp 352 hi po clone someday.....

    7,000🤯 Only funning with you , but I thought over 5800 rpm was only for 427 ? Mind you I drove my 390's hard and only ever spun a bearing on an old engine . Replaced the bearing and couldn't blow it up . I tried , but couldn't . I was 17 . We were bored 😐

    Dang I never thought of a 352 performance build. A well built 352 would walk all over a 360 it looks like. The only FE I've ever had were a 360 and a 390. Both in 70s trucks......the 360 was pretty gutless, and the 390 ran as expected.

    Commenters with all thier secrets why bother mentioning if you wont share? Never met anyone doing a 352.

    I love the FE ford I like the 410fe but most people say they boat engine not a hp&tq engine. My 17 year old son just got a 74 F100 we are thinking about putting one in. Love your videos

  • @cavscout62

    I’m partial to the 352 as I got my 1st car at 14 years old from my Grandfather and it was a 1958 Ford Police Interceptor with a 352, three on the tree and underdash operated overdrive. That old car was respectfully quick but, it would had top speed to spare after a cam swap, holley swap and headers swap out of the exhaust manifolds.

      Well yeah, I'm an engine builder. But all of my engines are custom built engines. I don't do "crate engines".

    • @lykinsmotorsports
      @lykinsmotorsports  Před rokem +1

      It's an FE, not a Y block.

    • @Stucifer
      @Stucifer Před rokem

      for some reason, a lot of people think FE's are somehow related to Y Blocks. They are not. Y-Blocks were underpowered small blocks. FE's were big blocks, and a big improvement over the Y Blocks
