Shaykh Wesam Charkawi was born and raised in Australia. From an early age, he sought the path of knowledge in the traditional Islamic sciences. Having studied for the past 12 years in various parts of the world including Syria and Lebanon, Shaykh Wesam is currently undertaking his masters in Sacred Islamic Law.
Sh. Wesam now works in a Sydney based school as the chaplain and works at grass roots mentoring and assisting the young through their journey in life.
In 2003 he founded the Abuhanifa Institute which teaches the essential sciences of Islam to young Muslims. Its ultimate focus is generational change.
Sh. Wesam continues to work and participate with organisations and events that strive for social cohesion and is a keen advocate of reaching out to the wider Australian community.
Muslims had extensive experience living in multicultural environment. The following correspondence exhibits the Muslim Christian interaction. Ibn Taymiyyah wrote in his letter to the King of Cyprus, “It has reached me of the Cypriot King’s devoutness, his grace, his love of knowledge, and his studiousness. I have seen how Sheikh Abu alAbbas alMaqdisi has shown thanks to the King for his gentleness, kindness, and hospitality, and equally extended thanks to the priests and their peers… We are a people who love goodness for everyone, and it is our hope that Allah will bring together for you all that is good in this world and the next… We wish for all those who are with you who are Jews and Christians and who are under our legal protection, that you free them. We will not abandon any prisoner who is our citizen, whether he be Muslim or not. this sheikh seems sensible. i guess if the muslim community had alot like this new generation leader than maybe the majority will intergrate easier in Australian society.
To address such a complex issue and go thru the list of problems as he did and to leave out the religious aspect just looks suspicious. We are not handling this right-
I do want to say, i am a Christian and i don't hate anyone, but my daughter is dating a young man who's dad is Muslim, they started dating over 5 yrs ago in high school, he is not Muslim yet, but three marriage thing came up, and this boys mom is Christian and she had to say there is no god but allah when she married him, and my daughter will never say that! And it's a big deal, so watch out everyone, it's a real problem, they want to marry outside their religion to convert people and this guy on here id's blowing smoke,

You are short of Mick Taylor on the panel. At least Mick is honest about it. Hasn't Australia cottoned on yet to the steps of Islam to islamize Australia. The first step is victimization. Can't you see the same method is being used in America, Europe, the UK Ozzies grow up and open your eyes.
"Saving the life of one person is like saving all mankind". This is the verse which applies only to one Muslim to another. They never recite the other verses that incites young men to kill. The Muslim representive doesn't mention that Muhammad promises them 72 custom made virgins with "swelling breasts" if they die for Islam. How do these shows pick Muslim representatives for their shows? This man blames all kinds of outside influences for violence in Islam. Never once did he mention the horrific words of the Prophet Muhammad in the Quran and Hadiths. Don't be proud to be multicultural...that word to me...MULTICULTURISM means only food, music and religion practiced privately in your own home. To some it means I have my culture and you have yours. It means changing the law, speaking a foreign language and pushing their culture or religious agendas on other people. I even hate the expressions I am an Afro American etc. We are Americans..... Period. You don't hear the Jews or Christians saying they are __________(name the religion) American or Australian. What was so multi-faceted about the question "would you allow your child to marry outside the Muslim religion? Yes or No is the answer. The answer was simple, men can marry outside this religion if the woman converts. The woman can NEVER under Islamic Law marry outside Islam. He put the audience in a big rabbit hole answering it. OMG he didn't answer it did he?
