Did Tiffin Quality Fall in 2021?

  • I have returned to Sewell Motor Coach at Auto Martt in Harrodsburg, Kentucky!! This time I flew in to help Doug Sewell and his service team rather than driving a RV. The dealership is overwhelmed and ask for some relief by doing some inspections on the new RVs that Doug has just brought in.
Today we are inspecting two RVs at the same time: a 2019 Allegro Bus 45MP and a 2021 Allegro Bus 40IP. I thought this would be an interesting comparison to see if the common belief that post 2020 pandemic RV builds were noticeably poorer quality and builds. So join me as I inspect a pre-2019 Tiffin Allegro bus and a post-2019 Allegro Bus and see if there is any truth to the concept.
Also, these are two beautiful Tiffin RV. If you are interested in either one please contact Doug Sewell or his sales team at: sewellmotorcoach.com
And Doug makes his own videos on his inventory which are much more concise and better. Check out his youtube channel:
    @Sewellmotorcoach
Thanks for watching...I'll try to make the next one shorter :)

Since Thor bought Tiffin…I’m scared for Tiffin. Once you hand your private company over to corporate….it’s never the same. I would never buy a new RV today. No way!!!

Beautiful coaches and great video! I’m a little more old school and still like wood…more rich character and natural warmth. I’m also a little more old school and I’m not sure I can trust Thor with their commitment to quality, at least yet. I guess I’ll just have to survive with my 2007 Holiday Rambler Navigator 45’…..👍

I have just one complaint - these reviews of the high-end coaches make me want one! I also have to content myself that having only two slides on my coach makes it easier to go to the back while traveling. Also, I am with you on showing the grain of the wood in cabinetry.

Great comparison of years! I have a 2021 Tiffin Allegro Open Road 32SA and it is wonderful. Only two issues with Tiffin, all others were the vendors (Lippert - hydraulic slide and Swintek slide). Thanks for all the great info you provide!

I am a function over form kind of guy. The backsplash that is the rounded stone or whatever it was, looked like a pain to clean should it actually be "splashed" with ... let's say ... spaghetti sauce. To me, a backsplash should be smooth and easy to clean as its function is to be splashed and easily cleaned.
I also don't get the tiny aisle ways in one coach and not the other....?
Definitely like to be able to navigate through with the slides in.
Sweet looking rides, I must say.❤

James ...the more I watch , the more your educating me, others about build quality , especially rooves on these very expensive RV's , coaches , motorhomes we call em in Ireland, England, France , Germany etc etc Europe ...
And I'm a novice , but do Europeans make these RV's ?I ask because "I" and most people in Europe want way better quality for that money 💰...I know we have wetter weather , but still !
No disrespect ....and flaws are keeping you busy bud 😉
Like I want a perfect outer skin , body , over a pure wood , dishwashers , tiles (I used to work in ceramics Italian , Spanish -proper real ones , oh and less expensive Turkish) that add weight...I hope buyers watch your channel , I really do

Caravan trailers seem to be made much better and have a much more regulated and robust quality check and inspection process including regular checks for damp. While large class A motorhomes exist in the UK, and Europe they are very rare and usually imported is my understanding. While notoriously bigger than the average vehicle and street lanes, it still seems somewhat manageable as buses, large trucks and garbage trucks also use those roads. I am unaware of camping availability or parks that accept larger motorhomes, but now I think I should travel and find out more. :) Otherwise, I think Class B vans are more common which will have great rooves, thank you!

James ...thank you for reply , I know you are busy , no pun intended .
But I withdrew my last comment re tv in front of escape .
      I really like these motorhomes , I would I'm 50 fit , two kids 11, 14 fit
But seems lot of older gen buy , cos they have 2,3,400 K to . That's not to say regardless who buys , a good number are flawed. As a security health safety officer (now single 52) I would really like to work within this industry. I wouldn't NOT SELL a unit ,due to my personal points , I'd sell .
      Sheesh
I'm saying your BEAVER is why I'm here , and I'm fed up here in Ireland , from England , weather , cost of living , I would move back to US , and really like this side of selling , having worked for CarCraft motors , as a marketer ,not a salesperson , I made money..
I dont mean any disrespect , and I guess I'm better keepin my thoughts 💭 to me ,
If and "IF" you or your team need help , I'd move back to US
I was there 05-07, CA, Rattan Furniture seller , and beach ⛱️ bum...

Love all your inspections videos, related to the COVID quality debate, it is not only the completed RV quality. As the RV is a sum of many sub components each of which had the poor COVID quality potential build in, this multiplies the statistical possibility of quality issue’s. also the supply chain issues of not being able to get the spec’d in components, and forced to use what you can get; this is most likely the explanation why they used the two different sealants on the 2021 roof. A shame Real Tiffins are gone, seems they have morphed in Thor-if-fins, clearly noticed in the cabinet build quality. I have seen overall higher levels of quality issues on COVID build RV,s. That is why I have a 1999 American Coach Heritage tag 45ft. Great build quality and EZ to work on.

What I see in those painted cabinet doors is horrible fit in the mitered joints. Not a single door that he showed had joints that met all the way, and with that lovely prison grey paint, there is no wood grain or color variations to make them harder to see. Kind of pitiful.

I’m not sure if their quality fell but their customer service is terrible. I saw a Tiffin Midas at the LaMesa RV show, however it was a 2022. I emailed Tiffin to see if they were going offer a 2024 twin bed Midas. It took them nearly two weeks to answer. The answer was no. They did nothing to suggest an alternative model C with twin beds. I decided after that experience that I would never want a Tiffin RV. If they were that bad at simply answering a question I can’t imagine how poorly I’d be treated if I had a coach with a problem.
