It's funny, most of the people I read about say they didn't like a lot of their music in this album but grew to love it. I always liked the weird songs like this one on Smoke and Mirrors.
Luke DeBee It's weird because if they truly knew anything (as well as studied in it) about music, they would have fell in love with it after the first listen. There's a lot of musical talent in this album. Which is something you should expect from Imagine Dragons. xD

factorextream123 I actually fell in love with this song as soon as I heard it. It's not my absolute favorite (that would have to be between Polaroid, I'm So Sorry, or Dream), but it is definitely one of my favorites. ^_^

With Imagine Dragons songs they always make me sad, even though I love them. I just love their deep emotional meanings. Also, i'm probably looking back on this after the 25th time of listening to all of their songs. So many of these people are true imagine dragons fans too and I love it. One thing I know is im never giving up on listening to them.
That little guitar thing at the end is to let you know its time to restart the song.

This is my favorite album from them. Last year I had to sing Radioactive for choir and I was so sick of them but they are in my top 5 chart for my favorite bands.

I bought the deluxe edition when it first came out. I listened to it with my discman in the train. And read the lyrics in the booklet. I had to get used to their music, but after hearing this song and a few others a couple times, made the album one of the greatest purchase.
This song sometimes makes me cry if I am depressed but this and polaroid helped me get thru depression a lot

I have a feeling this song is what inspired some of Evolve. What with the outro being heavy keyboard use like in Thunder, and the starting had the instruments like that of Dancing In the Dark, the feel was kinda of like Dancing in the Dark as well.

From the lyrics of the song, it sound like he's talking about this, 'work of art', this 'masterpiece' ironically. As in, he did something wrong or stupid that ruined something (his life, his relationship with someone, etc.). Well, I mean, this is just my interpretation of the song.

Accalia Wolf I think the entire song is about fate vs actions and how much of our lives we actually control. In the chorus you hear him say I'm in this race and I'm hoping just to place and trying not to face what I've done, followed by my hopeless opus. I think he's saying that basically this music that he's made doesn't do it for him. You hear him mention cage man, safe man, fate man, all representing outside forces which he has no control over. He says let me write my on line, and he's trying to do that through his music, but it's not working.
