Funny thing is that when you as a customer order things like adaptive cruise, heated steering wheel, massaging seats etc. you are charged hundreds or thousands of dollars. When Ford, GM etc takes these things off your build, you get a credit for something like $50 or $150.00. Sheesh.
Thats probably becuase your buying some of these things in packages there only deleteing one part of the package. I havent see any of the bait and switch with friends going through this at my local dealership might need to go to somone else
They credit you for parts only. When you upgrade you get charged for parts and labor
The new car/truck game is always a losing proposition for the buyer.
@@Kghost0311 That makes absolutely zero sense. When you "downgrade", you should ALSO have the labor charge removed. They price they actually quote, includes LABOR. When they SKIP the part because they don't have it, they also DO NOT have to do the labor. Since they are NOT doing it, they should subtract it. But they don't subtract that. That's bush-league bullshit. Imagine a contractor quoting you $7000 to build a deck. $3500 for materials. $3500 for labor. Now imagine he can't get the materials due to shortage or whatever, so he can't do the job. Do you think he still deserves $3500 for labor?
@@question_it_701 negative. Unfortunately the deck is still being built on that set price and that piece of top railing will be missing but the supports are still there. Thus why the discount price is a mere fraction of the outright right price.
Auto start stop is the best removal
After market starter sales will take a hit.
Addition by subtraction.
Surprised they are allowed since they do it only for the EPA requirements
When I ordered my tremor and they said auto stop start will hold up your build I was thank God the stupidest thing ever. Thanks to Obama. I was so happy.
My dad just got a 2022 with auto start stop removed and he was super excited NOT to have auto start stop lol
I find it hilarious the “credit” amount Ford is giving for these feature deletes. It’s maybe their cost, but they sure aren’t deleting their profit margin from the base truck price.
Heated wheel - let’s see, used to be a $600 option, but we will give you $150 off so you are only paying us $450 not to install it…
Lol yup…
Removal of heated steering wheel is a MAJOR deal breaker, removing the auto start stop I would have paid them for that.
No heated steering wheel is a deal breaker for me. I live in Alaska and my truck sits outside and I can't imagine not having a heated steering wheel. My Silverado has remote start and when I start my truck it automatically turns on the seat heat and steering wheel heat, which makes life so much more bearable in winter.
I'm with you, AlaskaEric. I had a heated steering wheel on my 2017 Escape. But when I went to a 2019 F-150 XLT, it wasn't available and I hated not having it. And living in Michigan winters, it comes in handy. Now, I have 2021 Escape and the HSW is back and I'm loving it. And on my Escape, if I remote start it, it turns on the seats and steering wheel and they're ready for my butt and hands when I get in.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
First world problems. Biden will take care of that for you with the nuclear winters
What a spoiled little Alaskan, you ain't no Eskimo for sure.
I will never go without a heated steering wheel after having it in my truck lmao
First off Tim, thank you for the information you supply.
Ford is doing a bang up job pissing off their customers. From price gouging, quality issues to missing features. I personally am done with Ford. I have owned 3 2022 vehicles, F-250 Lariat Tremor, F-150 Tremor and a Mustang GT. All of these had issues...leaks, transmissions, engine noises, oil consumption, rattles and squeaks inside, wiring harnesses not installed properly etc. etc.
I am not alone here...I wish Ford good luck in their future...they will need it if they don't smarten up!
I’m done with ford too. Quality has been garbage and now they have vehicles with missing features and yet the vehicles cost $5k more with less options.
It is with confidence, I say that Ford has Sh1t bed. They held on with the 2008 crash without a bailout. But now the quality control and dealers are screw the customer.
They lost 6.2 billion in 2022, yeah, you're not alone.
Yeah, I went with a 5.0 on my 2018 Platinum only to have it make strange noises. They took a great engine and tweaked it somehow to ruin it. Wanted to buy new one but why? I would miss massage seats, heated wheel, park assist, etc.
Way over priced junk. Been a Ford guy all of my life. Now I'm an old truck person because nobody makes a good truck any longer.
Those are 6 of the 7 reasons that I will keep my mostly fully equipped 22 for a while. With #7 being the price hikes. Same truck in a 23 with options removed is over $6k more than mine was. Auto start stop removal was the only thing removed on mine, i would have paid them to have it removed, instead they paid me!
Straightforward, no BS info. Rare. Good.

Excellent video, thank you. I purchased a 2022 last year and was disheartened by the lack of LED accents found on the 2021, but this list is just unbelievable. For me, the heated steering wheel and bed camera is non-negotiable. Shame on Ford. They should have notified the owners who pre-ordered within weeks, not when delivered and/or have a larger $$ allowance for customer loyalty. That said, IMO the overall quality and fit/finish is miles ahead from Chevy/Ram.
This is getting ridiculous. Ford has had years to fix this mess and they don't seem to be interested. Charging outrageous prices and deleting options and blaming it on supply chain seems to be their standard story now. My 23 is missing the heated wheel but its no big deal to me as I live in FL. It also had a broken windshield during shipping that took a month to get from Detroit. Yep blamed that on supply chain too. If I was Ford, the one thing I would never mess with, is the #1 selling vehicle in the world. It would not surprise me if they don't lose first place over this. If they do they deserve it.
"Required option" brings oxymoron, to a new level.
So basically, if you order anything higher than a XL you’re getting ripped off lol.
Thank you for this update, I've been trying to purchase a new F-150 for over two years and I'm finally convinced to forget it and move on to another brand.
Why couldn't you buy one over 2 years ?
Me too
So what other POS are you going to purchase. An LS leaker?
For customers in northern states and Canada, not being able to have a heated steering wheel is going to piss them off. But this video is good information.
That heated steering wheel is a must HAVE
👍👍Thanks for sharing this!!! Some dealers don’t know how to order the truck you want. Have them click on order code. It took me talking to 3 different dealers to find one who knew how to get my options right.
I’m glad I found this video, and thank you for making it. I was thinking about getting a 2023 Tremor, and have been pouring through window stickers and saw these deletions on them, so I assumed those were removed due to parts availability. Glad to see it confirmed. This also is motivating me to hold off until 2024; hopefully there will be more parts in the supply chain by then…
Great video - wouldn't think a video like this would be helpful or necessary but such is the supply chain pain
I have also read that the upper-level trims no longer have digital temperature displays in the knobs on the HVAC controls (something you will find in most luxury vehicles with dual-zone HVAC). In addition the definition of "ambient lighting" has apparently changed quite a lot since 2021. You no longer get lights at all in the cup holder, glove box and media bin, and where you do have them you can't change the colors - something you can do in a pretty cheap Kia. While these arguably are design changes, not deletes, this just doesn't seem competitive to me.
This is really old news...those ambient light items and temperature display were discontinued after 2021 model year. Temperature display was moved to the 12" Sync display so not a big loss.
LOL is that stuff important at all ? the heated seats in the northeast would be tho' !
It will be interesting to see how this affects sales. A lot of people may be opting not to buy new and keep old. Like me.
My lease is up on my 2019 F-150 lariat which I paid $49900 CDN. The same 2023 model with the exact same options is $79900 CDN. I can easily afford a new one but I just can't justify paying that kind of price increase for basically the exact same truck.
I'll keep my 2016 King Ranch with the heated steering wheel and massaging seats. No way I'm paying high 70k to low 80k for less truck.
And me
I love my 2019 Silverado. It has all the technology I need and want, so I have zero incentive to buy anything in the next 10 years. My 2022 Forester should also last me for another 10 years. Both are paid off, so I will set aside money each month to pay for my next vehicle in cash.
@@AlaskaErik Who cares !
Wow! I am SO glad that I got my F-150 in 2022!
I ordered mine in November. I never thought I’d see the day that I’d have a sticker price of 68k for a 2.7 xlt.
Head explodes! New truck prices are insane. Toyota has even joined they overpriced party. Smh...
Then stop buying these overpriced trucks. Spend the money renewing an older model.
My pro/con list is getting much bigger on the con side for Ford. Adding that Ford recall & warranty issues are at an all time high, reliability is now in question. All this coupled with Ford increasing MSRPs that are currently 20%-40% overpriced, it's time to seriously think about another brand. Sorry Ford, you've dropped the ball and another brand will be getting my attention and my money.
Thanks for keeping Ford customers updated Tim! As mentioned by Michael, we may not like the info, but really appreciated. Any chance you could share this info similarly for the Lightnings? This is the one that’s foremost on my mind . . . Thanks again!
I believe the Lightning has the same deletions.
So glad I have a 2018 F150 King Ranch because I have all of those features.
Wow! I'm really grateful for my fully loaded 2022 Powerboost Limited! It has every deleted item and I just stumbled across it as a special order that someone didn't follow through on. Happened to call the dealership just hours after it arrived! Whew...
yeah, my 2023 platinum f150 'deleted' the Auto Start/Stop (thank you thank you!), active park assist (kinda bummer) credited $365, the heated steering wheel (major bummer) credited $140, multi contour seat (meh) credited $300...but I like how I still had to pay the built in 'markup' for those items in the final price since the deletions were at cost. It's like if you go to an expensive restaurant and they messed up dinner, so they took it off the bill. Dinner cost $27.00 but the 'deletion' was $1.75. I do love the truck so far though, been 6 weeks.
Glad I got my F150 in 2021. Tho there are a couple of things I wanted that were introduced in 22 but I am very happy with my truck overall.
Recently traded in my 2018 for a 2023, weeks later still reaching for the start / stop override button at every intersection! So glad its been eliminated it...
Yeah, didn’t like the info but appreciate the info! Thanks!
Thank you for explaining the missing items.
I’m glad I got my f150 2021 xlt hybrid fx off road, high appearance with sport package got all these features.. honestly it feels more luxuries and easy to drive too
Great stuff
My 502A built in January (delivered April 2023) has the box camera. This is a built for Canada truck, KC plant. The heated wheel is being installed later this year, cost $75Cdn (I signed a Ford form requesting the heated wheel at a later date). Intrusion alarm was removed. No spare tyre lock on my truck either (as you said; no credit either).
I enjoy your videos
Heated steering wheel delete is a deal breaker for me. I'll wait until it comes back. I was seriously thinking of buying this year.
I custom ordered a 2022 F3 50 king ranch. Took possession of it for months ago. I did not find out until almost a week and a half after possession that I did not have the multi contour seats. There’s no window sticker in my truck or was there a window sticker on my truck at the time of purchase. After I complained to the dealer that this was missing, they wanted me to go in and sign some piece of paper that stated it was removed at the factory.
I have the 2021 f150 limited powerboost fully loaded and I glad that I purchased mine before all these features were taken away that it means my truck is more valuable than a 23s because it’s fully loaded with all options
I'm glad I got a 21 lariat with auto stop removal.. I love the heated steering wheel
I have a 2022 XLT that took seven months to get and it's a bit of a frankentruck. I have things that I didn't order and things that I did order that it doesn't have. A brake light burned out and the only place I could get one was at the dealership. The lights that you will find using the make/model selectors at stores or online don't show the correct light. The wire harness for the lights was adapted from some other vehicle it appears. The parts people at the dealership said they only know what parts are in them these days is to go by VIN.
I was looking at probably ordering a platinum powerboost with black appearance package. But some of these removals are deal breaker for me. Mainly the heated steering wheel and that 3rd brake light camera with the 360 camera package. Was really hoping this parts crap was over with by now clearly not.... maby in 2024....
Also CCD with road preview and the tailgate sensor thing with your foot on suv
Deal Breaker Thank for update !
Great video. My 2023 Raptor R doesn’t seem to have the parking sensor chimes that come from the speakers. They only come from the instrument cluster. My dealer says it seems all of the raptors are showing up like that.
the auto stop / start was removed from my 2022, I was happy. heated steering wheel was removed also. I have the lariat. ordered during truck month and did not receive the truck for months. I really did not mind, I dont really want a lot of the stuff on them.
I have a 2021 platinum I bought jan 29, 2021. Right before the price gouging started. I love it!! 24000 perfect miles. Got $8000 off of actual factory MSRP. I have traded every 2 to three years for last 25 years or so. I will keep this truck indefinitely. Main reason being the ridiculous pricing and finance rates. But to buy a truck that cost this much and for them to delete small items like they are doing is absolutely unbelievable. That alone would have kept me from trading. I will drive my like new 2021 for a long long time unless all these greed mongers decide to sell trucks at reasonable prices again.
Why did you trade every 2 years previously ?
@@sarahann530 just what I wanted to do. Enjoyed keeping new truck. Never had to worry about warranty running out, never bought tires. Kept newest and latest tech. Between two and three years depending on new model releases. Usually depended on changes to design. Those days are over now. Ridiculous prices and now interest rates have ended that. But that’s fine. My 2021 had every option and it has been flawless. I take extremely good care of my trucks to.
@Ken Tapley It's going to burn your ass now have to pay for maintenance and up keep on your ' '21 .Lots to go wrong when you have every option
.
@@sarahann530 so far zero problems. Plus month ago bought extended warranty from Ford just in case. What will be nice is after 2 more years will not have a truck payment. I maintained a lot of equity in my trucks for many years. That was one reason I could trade so often. So I only financed for 48 months. Once I get it Paid for I will like not having a payment. In a way kinda glad the greed mongers started the gouging. Will be nice with no payment.
@@kentapley9315 How did you maintain equity in your trucks if youtraded them every 2 years . The depreciation is highest in the first 2 years
Will the camera and heated wheel also impact super duty? Propower onboard is worth the wait to me. Ty for the info
So glad I bought in 2019
All good information to know but what’s next no wheels and tires keep up the good work thank you
Used to be that pickups were made primarily for farmers and tradesmen and were equipped and priced as such.
#8 Washer for front 360 camera has been quietly removed from MY 23 and no discount. Missing from my '23, have to go check my spare lock now.
What do you mean washer? (New to some of this my bad) like to clean the camera?
Great video, shame that ford has not brought it suppliers In house.
From Leo: Why do the domestic auto companies not realize that there are multiple foreign companies that are willing to go the extra mile for our business? Ford/Mercury/Lincoln has been my go to brand since my first new one in 1976. Why do they think they can jack up the price with a bunch of stuff no one asked for, and then leave that equipment off? Way too many multi million dollar salaries in administration and upper management, they now arrogantly disrespect the customers.
"Welcome to Ford support line, for shareholders press or say one, for Ford product owners press or say two."
No one is missing the Auto Stop being removed. What a PITA.
I shopped around this year for a F150 Limited, 2023 brand new. Every time the dealers and I would start talking price, I always brought up the removed features. They always pointed to the window sticker sheet and said "a credit of XYZ dollars off has been deducted from the price". Then (for example) I'd say "so when the chips become available for heating steering, can I pay you that ridiculously low 130 bucks for all the parts and labor to get it installed, when it comes? Id love to get that signed, in writing from your sales manager"
The look on every dealers face told me everything I needed to know about that "deducted credit" garbage. I told these sales people it sounds like the only "Limited" thing about the limited truck, is its features.....
Its a freaking Limited. It should be fully loaded without question. Most dealers admitted ford was dumping all the chips in the raptors. The raptor isnt supposed to be a luxury truck like the King/Plat/Limited. Its supposed be a street legal monster truck. Who cares about the luxury features in a raptor. People don't buy the Raptor for luxury. Ford has been making so many poor decisions with chip distribution in 22 & 23, while maintaining the absurdly high prices without the features.
I went out, bought a lightly used 2021 Limited F150 for 62k with all the bells and whistles, instead of the stupid 90k overpriced 2023 F150 Limited.
I honestly feel bad for the dealers and salespeople who have to deal with the consumers.
Ford is making mistakes left and right, and the dealers are the ones who have to keep a straight face and try and sell under-featured products.
My 2019 f150 SCrew XLT 302a 3.5 ecoboost with FX4 package was discounted to $48,000 (sticker of $58000) at 1.99% financing.
I am glad I have a pre 2020 F150... I have all those things on my unit! (except auto start/stop, I didn't want that!)
here's a suggestion for Ford: REMOVE THE START-STOP feature on ALL YOUR VEHICLES!! that feature is ANNOYING, causes excessive wear on the starter and starter ring on the transmission, and is DANGEROUS!!
@Long McArthur: Can you do this for Super Duty as well please?
I am starting to look at other trucks. I’ve owned 3 f150’s, latest being a 2021 lariat.
Have you heard anything about the front camera washer for the 360 camera no longer being provided?
Please do this for the Superduty as well... 🙏
And the sensors for the advanced security pack ? Thank you in advance
Sucks that they remove items and no discount at all!! My maverick they remove the spray in bed liner. Remote start and I believe the keyless entry pad
Seems to me that this info should have been provided to the dealers, and the customer told about it before they proceeded with the build. Some of these items may have been deal breakers and people would have canceled their order. I suspect that Ford dealers may see quite a few customers deciding they don't want the vehicle any more and decline to pick it up.
I’ll stick to my 2012 f150.Thank you very much!
Same here... I've got a 2013 f150 Platinum with low mileage. Was planning on replacing at 10 years. But not happening now. Never as long as Ford operates like this. My truck is still flawless, so I may get another 5 or so years out of it before I even look around. Heck, maybe 10 more. Ford is only hurting themselves with this kind of nonsense, and the ridiculous pricing. It's cost them my future business.
I'm about to place an order for King Ranch V8, should I be concerned about the V8 scheduling?
since they took the camera away from the high mounted stoplight; but I presume they left the leak feature in so water can still get in the cab
just picked up my 23 Tremor yesterday and delighted auto start stop engine was deleted ! Hate it !!
I ordered a 2023 250 xlt the build date has been pushed back 4 times
Jan 20th to Feb 10th to Feb 20th
And now april 20th
Are they removing the bed camera from the super duty trucks as well?
Will any of these "trickle down" to other ford models such as the expedition? Obviously, not including the camera that is pointed down at the cab in the question since the expedition has no cab.
I won't miss a single thing that they deleted.
I fully appreciate Ford's efforts to optimize production during a periof of supply chain disruptions. What is not acceptable is failing to communicate fully with people whose vehicles orders are impacted and failing to provide a meaningful deduction as compensation. That's Ford treating their customers with total disrespect.
Forgot the "Quality" removal line item that seems to be standard with Ford's now.
Wonder if the main WIRING HARNESS are being modified?
Hopefully not, so consumers can add item back in later.
And will the wiring harness be available to add the camera later on?
Will there be a credit on window sticker for the rear bed camera?
anything that is a removal will have a credit for it
Those parts will delay scheduling. My Truck has been scheduled since November. Built but awaiting microchip for who knows what since then.
I don't think I would have a problem with the things removed. The auto stop start should have never been installed in the first place.
The moon roof removal is a plus also.
I just bought a a 2023 F150 King Ranch and I wonder if the Bed camera removal effects the trailer backup package ?
No, it will not. It doesn't need the chmsl camera for the reverse guidance.
Are the 2023 do not have electric back sliding window in the back of the cab
I didn't know about the spare lock. I think I'd have just taken it off if I had it - it seems like something guaranteed to be corroded solid and impossible to remove at the side of the road when I need to get to my tire. Just like the GM spare tire - guaranteed when you need it, the "safety" thing will be rusted solid and you won't be able to get your spare down.
If you work in the high interest rates and the still high markups instead of marked way down you will pay an extra $25000 for an xlt.
Are these removals happening on the 2023 Expeditions?
Ford should have to add it later when the parts become available for the same price as the credit. It’s only fair. I just bought a 23 and I want the heater steering wheel.
how about doing a video like this for the 2023 F250?
the biggest thing that any truck doesn't have is AFFORDABILITY!!!!
Would you do the same for the 23 f250 thank you.
The base price went up something like 4000 so I don't think the credit people are getting for any of the items not included means much.
What seats are on the platinum if the multi contoured seats are removed? The same seats as the lariat?
Yes
I got my 23 lariat last november and they removed the heated mirrors.
Seriously? That sucks
Dang I'm a big fan of having all my oil in the pan when I step on it!
Are they taking the camera off the Super Duty?
Same with Superduties?
i ordered a 2023 ultimate 110k.. and got all the items i wanted. Dont care about timing.,..as i get Z plan and 10K off sticker
Quality and reliability were removed long time ago. I have had 3 different fords. Focus, escape and f150. Many problems with oil consumption transmissions and electrical, and of course it happens 100 miles out of warranty.
I ordered 2022 platinum with Carmelo. Uuugh. Made it finally with black leather. I dont want black. I want Carmelo. I’m in Texas. Black is toooooo hot. Didn’t get it. Reordered 2023 again with Carmelo. October production. On hold. Have looked at many dealers sights. Not one vehicle with Carmelo. All have black. Or Java. King ranch. I want what I ordered. Guess I’m gonna wait a couple of years now till massaging seats back and heated SW as well. For 80k it should be what I ordered! Don’t understand why all vehicles are black leather. That’s dyed as well as Carmelo or light blue in limited. I’ll never have black seats in a vehicle. Never!
No heated steering wheel will send me to Toyota to buy a Tundra.
They still stickering for more than double they should be?
