- I'm on a Yorkshire beach photographing Wading Birds, but the Bright Sun is a constant challenge! I'm using a Canon R6 & Canon EF 500mm F/4 Lens for my bird photography - with a home-made camera support for low level photos.

I love Paul's videos and watched this just to enjoy his experience!
That's so cool!
Really like these. excellent video.
In a word brilliant! Great images well done Paul👏👏👏
Cheers buddy!
love the hopping one at 2:50 :)
Really like these shoreline vids Paul. Entertaining and great photography as always.
Thanks so much. They're fun!
Great stuff as always, Paul! Keep on shootin' and postin'!
Many thanks.
Very welcome. I love the Yorkshire coast.
Stunning photos, we’ve lost a lot of motivation for photography recently probably due to moving country, and the amount of snow makes it hard for us and wildlife to get around. Definitely want to get out and learn the new Norwegian environment and hopefully get some artic style photos
Excellent video - loved the oystercatcher footage. I've still got purple sandpiper on my 'to do' list but hopefully will see one sometime soonish! That was awful to see that particular one with its feet entwined. It must have been exhausting for it trying to walk.
Great video Paul, really like the reflection shots. All the best, Steve.
Cheers Steve.
Great topic. I live in the high desert and blown out shots from the sun are always an issue. I can relate to that poor bird situation. Yesterday I saw a female bighorn sheep that couldn’t use one of her back legs. The rest of the herd scrambled up the mountainside and she was left behind. Nothing I could do about it, but it broke my heart. Shortly after, I saw a huge buck that had difficulty walking on its back end. Again, nothing I could do. It’s so hard when you spend a lot of time with wildlife, you realize what a difficult life they have.😢
Again Paul, awesome images, and a great informative video 👏👏👏
Many thanks Mick. It was good fun to make. I love being on the beach.
Ditto mate. We live in Liverpool. So I'm planning a visit to Crosby beach in the not too distant future@@PaulMiguelPhotography
Great video as always Paul
Thank you my friend.
Love the commentary, video and THE SOUNDTRACK! Aren't shorebirds fun? I sit my arse on the mud/sand, put the camera on a small beanbag, and use the flip up screen (or a external screen) to get low. Wet arse photography I call it.
You have become my regular CZcams creator. Lol. You and Phil thatch.
Great video as always. Nice job. ❤
Thanks so much. I'm honoured!
Great video Paul. I’m off up to Whitby over Xmas so hopefully some similar waders on the shoreline there for me to capture. Had a great day today with a friend of yours Ian at Leeds Wildlife Hides. 😃👍
Best of luck. Yeah, Ian is a top guy.
I really enjoy your videos, for many reasons, but one I'd like to mention is your good taste for music and soundtrack. Often with a Latin-American flavour. As a Brazilian, I appreciate the occasional bossa nova.
Thank you! It's something I really enjoy actually, but can only spend so much time on it. Glad you enjoy it!
Enjoyed the video Paul as I always do. (I spoke to you while you were making it). I would love to lie down and get a really low angle but for ancient folks like me, that is really problematic. I would have to roll over and get on my hands and knees to stand up again, thus getting covered in wet sand. A no/no for me when using expensive camera gear. That site however is a good compromise because crouching on the sand with the light behind me, facing the rocks and harbour wall and hand-holding or using a short monopod, there is a lot of action at eye level as the birds scrabble about the rocks searching for food Great work & look forward to the next one.
Thanks and good to see you again. Yes, when they're on the rocks it's a better level. Hope you got decent shots that day
Looks like sunny Bridlington. Would struggle to not take a photo or two of a turnstone. Great images, might have buy a pair of waders
It is. Yes,I was quite proud of myself! Really needed those Sandpipers.
Semua fotografer burung Pantai akan rela melakukan ini, terkadang bikin perut kembung😊
Purple Sandpipers can be very confiding on the north side of the harbour too and the lighting can sometimes be better. They are usually looking for food on the concrete sea defences hence the backgrounds might not be as pleasing but no requirement to lie in the mud though unless you bring your own with you…
Thanks for that. Much appreciated
Great video! Missed an opportunity for a public service announcement about cleaning up fishing gear. I enjoy fishing, but am always disgusted by the amount of fishing line people leave behind. It’s very easy to pick up stray bits left by others and dispose of it responsibly. It is sometimes possible to capture shorebirds and remove lines and hooks. Photography needn’t simply be a passive pursuit. While we’re out there, a few minutes of action can make a big difference. Cheers!
thanks for sharing this. Food for thought for sure.
"Ahh my neck..." you gotta learn to use your flipscreen Paul... 😄😉
I actually did at times, but it's hard to track them running on the screen, especially in bright sun. Youre right though.. i definitely need to use the screen more.
Hi Paul, hope you don’t mind me asking but where on the east coast was this? Reason I’m asking is that I’m going up to Whitby over Xmas and was hoping to try something similar around there. Understand if you don’t want to divulge. Thanks Ian
It's around Bridlington Ian.
@@PaulMiguelPhotography cheers thanks Paul appreciated 👍😃
Why not use an air bed?
As if he doesn't look ridiculous enough already 😂 and it's another piece of gear he has to carry around.
Lol.
Lol. Yep!
@1:15 thank god for captions i thought he was getting ready for some fried sand pipers
