Wow, that's amazing. I can imagine how much work you had too put into fixing the file. I've done plenty and know how much work it is. Thanks for making the file available and thanks for the video!
*Thank you very much George!*
I just bought the file. I can't wait to start cutting it. Thank you very much.
Hope you enjoy it!
Looks fantastic! Once again a job well done!
Thanks again Giovanni!
Thanks for sharing. It turned out great!
*You are so welcome David!*
I really like the look of the Eiffel Tower you did. As much as I want to do one, I feel I need to start with a much smaller and simple project. I've got my two lasers built and tested with computer control. I've got one laser that is 400x800mm and the other is 400mmx400mm. Once I have done a simple project, first project will be the universal burn test pattern, I will attempt the Eiffel Tower. I am very impressed with your videos as they have helped me understand laser cutting, engraving and etching. Thank you.
My pleasure David! I'm glad you like them!
Great video Rich!! Looks cool man!
Thanks You should try it Jamie 👍
Yes... this looks very cool.... well done
Thank you Peter!
Hi Rich, I just purchased your files for the Eiffel Tower, along with several other sets of files. I feel that it is important that we, as users, thank you for your efforts in supporting us in our quest for laser files. Your efforts are invaluable to us, thank you so much for your time to create all this for us.
Awesome, thank you so much for supporting the effort! I really appreciate it Peter!
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I am really enjoying working through your videos. It's truly amazing how much time you have put in over the years. We really appreciate it. I'm really looking forward to making the Eiffel Tower, but that wont be for a few weeks as I have to do some upgrades to my LM2 - adding drag chains, upgrade to the NEJE 30W, upgrade my air assist accordingly, add in some honeycomb.... yada, yada, you know the routine. Thanks Rich.
Sounds like fun! I have just started this channel in June, but it does feel like years 🤪
Awesome 👍👍👍
Thanks Walter!🤗
That's awesome and 2.99 for the file is a steal.
Thx again
Thank you Sir!
I saw your video on Eiffel Tower. It was awesome. I am begining to like your videos.
Awesome! Thank you!
Excellent Video, Thanks for sharing, I'll pickup some wood and do this soon. So Cool.
*You're gonna love it Jerry!* A nice addition to your models! By the way, your order shipped today, thanks!
That is awesome. Now I want to go buy some basswood to try it!
You should! This project came our really nice!
Really cool and the videos help a lot I am cutting it out now and there is a lot of detail work in this.
Yes there is Edwin! You're gonna love the results!
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Thanks Brother!!!
Great job as always
I appreciate that, thank you!
Hi namefellow, buyed, I really love your videos, very informative and very well explained everything, I'm learning a lot with you. Best regards from Spain
Wow! Thank you so much! I appreciate the comment Ricardo!
I want to add two comments to this video: 1) Remember that the "test piece" is not part of the project! 2) As you compete each piece, move it off to the *left* side of the workbed so you don't get confused! Thank you all so much for your support!
*NOTE: I have diagnosed a problem for some users on this file! Turn off constant power mode on the layer settings if your laser stops burning or skips areas.*
That is fantastic.
*Thanks! I had fun!*
Hi Rich! After watching this video I just had to make this! Well worth the 2.99!
I love this project Jose! I've made a bunch.
Another Great Video,Well done.
Thanks again Rick! Now I'm stuck on 3D models 😎 This was so much fun and the first one that actually came out perfect!
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy and this project was done using the Laser Master 2 20w or the Pro 20w?
@@just1rick21072 This was done with my Neje, but you can do it with *any* laser 5W and above Rick. I have done tons of boxes and puzzles with my LM2 5W. That's why I put the test piece in the file, to adjust to any laser.
Nice love it well done 👍
Thank you George!
That turned out awesome.
Thank you! I've made a bunch of these now!
Nice!!
Thanks Rich!
Totally awesome Rich, Love how it came out, As we dont get basswood here, I am thinking either balsa or thin birch ply, which I think i can get here in NZ.
Sounds great Ian! Basswood or Balsawood can be used! Just remember that Balsa is a lot more porous than Bass, so if it's going to be in a humid environment, you might want to clearcoat it. Balsa soaks up water and humidity like a sponge!
Birch would be the best pick of the three.
Stunning!!!!!!
Thank you!! It was fun!
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I purchased the file after watching the video. Gonna go get me some material.....that is "IF" I can find some. 😋
@@PopsCustomSignsLLC If you can't find any, I put a link in the description to Amazon. I do know my Home Depot has some 1.5mm wood in the pre-cut section where the hobby wood is, but it is expensive Pops!
@@PopsCustomSignsLLC Oh, and Hobby Lobby has the wood as well.
As a newish diode laser owner, I love your channel. I've learned a lot, and even when you cover material that I think I know well, I find nuggets of high value in the video. A couple of questions about the files. First, I assume the slots and tabs are authored for the 1/16" basswood and would need to be modified if cutting from thicker or thinner material? And second, did you handle kerf in Lightburn or is it built into the model?
Awesome, thank you Robert! Yes, the kerf is perfect for a diode laser that is perfectly focused on the *top* of the wood with the standard Lightburn settings. If you advance, defocus or use a thicker material, then you would need to adjust the kerf, focus or both accordingly.
WOW
:-)
Hi Rich just purchased this file. Can’t wait to cut it. Just a quick question you said you use Basswood but your link is for Birch, can you tell me where you buy your Basswood. Thanks again.
This is the wood I used Vera: amzn.to/3QDkK0P
Is this template also working on the XTool m1?
It's a Lightburn template Janis, so it depends on whether or not the M1 supports Lightburn. I don't know if it does or not. That would be a question to ask xTool.
AWESOME video! How did you get the spikes to stay on your perforated metal sheet? Glue? Mine kept falling over, which was bound to happen with a bunch of little spikes not secured to anything.
The punk spikes come with screws, so they screw on DeNica.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy OMG😱😱👀👀😂😂😂!!! My family is making fun of me for missing the whole point of the screws!!! Thanks for answering… because that was ridiculous of me to not notice!
Thanks for the video
can i also use 3mm birch plywood for this project?
It is designed for 2mm Jos, but folks have made it with 3mm. I sized the slots and tabs to use both, maybe with a little struggle assembling the 3mm, but it can be done.
thank you very much Rich@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
Just purchased this, thank you. Is this for 3mm material ? if not, is it difficult to scale it for 3mm material ?
Hi Craig, I've done about 20 of these now, from 1.5mm to 3mm without making any changes. It was redesigned to use 2mm, so the 3mm is a little snug, but still works perfectly.
Thanks Rich. Your videos and help are an inspiration. Well done.
Hi, Rich. I've been watching your videos for a while now. Just made my first laser cut project last night. A necklace and matching earrings for my wife. Really simple, but helping me get my feet wet, so to speak. I came here looking for a link to get the Eiffel tower plans, but I don't see that link. Am I overlooking it, or is it not here. I really want to do this project as I progress into bigger and better things. Links to other patterns would be helpful, too. Thank you.
Never mind. I found the link. And I thank you profoundly. I'm sure we will be buying more than just a couple of the files in the near future.
Glad you found it, and thanks for the support!
How did you adjust for the Kerf of the laser?
No kerf adjustment on this project. The cuts need to be loose because of all the connection points.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy COOL. Thanks for the quick reply.
Hi. I paid for the files for this through your forum web page. My plan of the various components of the tower have become jumbled and I cannot cut the tower for assembly. Is it possible to get another copy please. Alex Park .UK
Yes, go back to engraveandcutfiles.com and login to your account. The file is there in the download section Alex.
I keep getting a message saying some parts aren't "closed" and I don't know what's wrong. Please help.
Change the layer from fill to line.
The global theme would be awesome.
Agreed Nick.
Hi Rich
I've cut out the first part as a test, but I'm having a small problem
The laser does not cut the pieces one after the other but runs to the other part and makes a short cut and runs back again
so he cuts them out criss-cross.
He does cut everything out well, but it has to be done differently as I see it in your video.
what am I doing wrong?
I hope I was clear!
My Laser is a Zbaitu M37
That's how Lightburn works Jos. It'll come back and cut all of the pieces.
Hi Rich
Okay so that's normal
Thanks for the quick response Rich
You are great
the eiffel tower when cutting on my otur laser goes on and off and does not cut the whole thing even on the test item.
Delete the file you downloaded and download it again Tony. I have replaced it in the store. A few people reported the same problem. If you still have problems, email me at thelahobbyguy@gmail.com and I'll send you an uncompressed file.
Bruce Wood
HI just down loaded the Eiffel Tower
On checking sizes the cut outs for the panels to slot into are 3.11mm wide and the piece that slots into these are 2.91mm long.
You say you were using 1/16" plywood , surely this would mean the joints would be sloppy.
Please confirm the thickness and how to compensate
Thanks
There's no compensating, run the file as is. I spent a lot of hours and test cuts getting the original file perfect. There needs to be some wiggle room to be able to glue it together. As you can see in the final result, it came out perfectly Bruce. I have done six more now since the first one on three different lasers and they all came out perfect.
Thanks for that just being cautious. Only a beginner
No Problem Bruce! Trust me, it works great! Have fun!
Will this work with MDF? using sculpfun s9 5.5?
It's made for hobby wood, not MDF.
But, would it work?
I doubt it, MDF is too dense for a 5W laser.
why does my laser start and stop and not cutting out the whole thing
Did you unzip the file before using it? If you didn't, try that, otherwise email me @ thelahobbyguy@gmail.com and I'll send you another one.
The original file link dosen't work....Great video
Updated George. I fixed it.
i purchased the file and it does not cut all of the pieces out . the laser shuts off in the middle of a cut
Hi, the file doesn't cut the pieces out, the laser does Mr. Terry. If your laser is stopping mid-burn, tick off the Constant Power Mode on the cut layer and that should solve it for you.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy constant power was off
@@mrterry5754 It shouldn't have been, but that's okay. The reason this happens on this file is usually a bad or weak power supply, however, you may need a firmware update. Contact the manufacturer for that.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy ok thanks for the help really enjoy your channel
