The bear is a formidable adversary with no predatory instincts at all. But, when surprised or wounded a bear may attack, and becomes very dangerous."

"What's he talking about?" "Bears, I guess" Funny yet logical. Such a cool, stylish movie with the Japanese elements of art, literature, and philosophy intertwined with martial arts and Bushido. Very Japanese style. Well-done Mr Whitaker
Yea, if you can watch it with subtitles, you can see that although they speak different languages but they always seem to understand each other. I had a norwegian truck driver friend in an internet game and he wasn't good in English while i'm not perfect either. Our limited communication reminded me to this whole ghost dog-ice cream man situation and cheered me up many times:)
Somehow I guessed that's where he was going, but thank you for posting the translation. I like a good movie about bears and samurais, and stereotypical Italian mob guys trying to understand them.
@@jwurnig You are right but should acknowledge that this film came out in several different languages. Even the Haitian actor had different audio languages in the film. Enjoy the film :)
I thought this was great dialogue in a great scene, it was nice to see the icecream man cast as a lead in Jarmusch's 'The Limits of Control'. I'm jealous of you for having a Norwegian truck driving friend, he sounds pretty interesting.

Like Math, Friendship is a UNIVERSAL language.
And music
In the french film version, he speak in a african language, and not french.
That's not true. He's Haitian. He's speaking French which is the official language in Haiti.

Pearline… 😁
he is speaking so fast ! , (african accent) compare to him i speak so slow like a speed bump, hehe ^^.
A bit slow for us french speakers... (and the delivery is a little unnatural)
I find him very easy to understand? Just depends on the person I guess.
