**2022 EXPEDITION UPDATE**
Thanks for everyone's support, comments and following us from the beginning. Its been a loooooooooong wait for sure and hoping this year we can finally make this project happen. The past two summers were frustrating in the fact we had approvals and a funding partner in place, but both times were forced to cancel due to both the challenges associated with Covid and travel/government restrictions as well as a large scale flood that occurred last summer in the region.
This year still looks promising for a summer 2022 expedition with our funding partners and local contacts still showing interest to see this project through. Not to mention the growing support and interest for this project keeps building. We should know more late spring/early summer and will update when we have more news to share!
Thanks again to all of you for following us. Your support, comments, likes and follows both here and on our facebook page, energizes us in knowing we aren't the only people obsessed to know more and explore the Nahanni. Fingers crossed this is the year we will have more to share with you!

"Secrets of Nahanni" will follow the journey of an expedition crew made up of a small filmmaking team, river guides and led by up-and-coming Explorer and Photographer Dax Justin. Our goal: to explore the Nahanni's "Valley of Headless Men", to seek out and unearth the rumoured mysteries, legends or other “survivors of the past” that still linger today based off the oral histories of the local Dene, Sahtu, and Metis as well as journals of early 20th Century European explorers.

Yeah after MrBallen did his video and I researched some more. This seems like a dangerous place to venture especially if you're looking for gold or hunting. Even in groups of 4-5 you'll probably still end up decapitated or running up the side of a mountain on all 4s naked.

I would also go there if I had the skills but I'm from South Africa where there is only ever a moderate climate and no wild animals that can be dangerous to humans.

In the early 1970s while in the 6th and 7th grade I was introduced to some incredible slide shows and stories of the Nahani. My teacher at that time, Mr Barry duTemple and his brother ran guided river boat tours in the summer. The stories of Headless valley and the incredible images of the River stayed with me,and to this day i still dream of making that trip.
I so wish to go to this place someday even though I would be putting my life on the line

@@3dsmaxrocks699 If your willing to do that, then why not go with some people? I want to check that place out one day, and really scout just certain areas looking for whatever is of interest. And maybe get lucky and find some of that gold, that or the end of the line.

I hear that the Nahanni has gigantic animals that are survivors from the last Ice Age, including mammoths.
If I were rich I would pay to go into the caves on the cliffs to explore and map the cave system out. I can only achieve that in my imagination though... ✨

I cant wait til this releases i like the storys of the nihanni and of i got the money and suchs for it i whould have go myselfs for sure its one of those places on earth u have to go to to get the feeling and maybe even hear some new storys or things i didnt hear yet bud stil this here its on my bucked list for sure and hopefully the docu is doing well also cant wait to watch that

From what I can find, the crowdfunding only made 1155$ out of 60k on indigogo unfortunately and had 16 backers which I thank for trying. They did offer the experience to join for 35k tho which is pretty awesome!
Hey Jessie! We are still here and fighting to get the full Documentary/Expedition going. Almost got up there both last summer and this summer, but Covid and flooding forced us to cancel both times. Good news is we have a tv partner interested to help finance our project and hope to get this going again next summer (2022).
@@stevejames808 Thanks for note and your interest! After the crowdfunding we got some additional film grants to fund a short trip up to the Nahanni just before the pandemic to scout out the areas we want to explore and record some local Dene legends/stories to help us sell the idea for more funding. Now we have more TV interest which will help us get this going next year. But any likes and shares you all can give our CZcams Channel and videos definitely helps us as we approach our broadcast partners this winter.

I can not wait! Mr Ballen is who made a video about the place and got me interested! Also please be safe! I know it's a while away but with all the stories you can't be too careful! Also this is just a personal observation but after listening to all of those stories off of multiple videos and articles it honestly sounds like you can go into the forest and leave safely so long as you don't take any gold.

After Covid cancelled our ability to film in 2020 we had to postpone this year as well with the delays in vaccination among the remote communities we would be traveling through. Our plan now is to film next year in Summer 2022. Thanks for your interest and look forward to share this expedition with you!

The legendary giants or other historical creature like dinosaur or maybe big foot still resides there? Wish I could join you guys. I live for adventure and exploration of mother earth . Nahanni valley was one of my must visit place and learn more about the mystery and legends behind it .. so glad you guys are doing this . Anyway good luck and please be careful. Also just curious is it only the ppl who went to look for gold, found it and taken the gold from the land are the ones who are being attacked or is it anyone who goes there even if they dont care about the gold or won't even touch it are also getting beheaded?
Secrets Of Nahanni If you get vaccinated you become a permanent carrier and highly contagious. Not a kind idea to travel through those remote communities like that.

Well if you looked at the description...it says Nahanni as in Nahanni valley Canada. Northern Canada is basically the same as Alaska.

The only way Nahanni can be properly documented is to send
A lot of marines, navy seals, hunters, medics and choppers to guard the documentary crew. Set up cameras everywhere
In all honesty, they probably already did and decided not to release any information that may terrorize people

Those people who attempted to reach it just gets killed creatively and the ones in-charge make up the story to put fear into people.
It does not make sense why they don't allow the public people to go further Nahanni when they allow people to die climbing Mount Everest.

I get you're children, but when something is that large and days away from the nearest access point (which is in and of itself days away from a moderately large town), it's kinda difficult to get to.
A drone can cover maybe 0.5km2 on a couple of batteries, so I don't know how you expect the area to be droned. Or are you going to front the cash for an aerial survey in the middle of nowhere Canada?
The national park isn't even unexplored, you can find a shitload of footage from people who've canoed through it.
