- Why Dream uses Axes in Minecraft version 1.16. Dream uses an axe instead of sword against Technoblade, in minecraft manhunts and speedrunning
This video was made because of all the hype surrounding the Dream smp and all of the minecraft youtube content.

In Java a wooden axe does the same damage as a diamond sword so no need to find diamonds for a diamonds sword
if you're good enough with a sword, you can crit someone as fast as lava damages
but it would be worth it if you get a diamond axe which does more damage than netherite sword and same with iron axe
wooden sword does 7 damage, stone + iron + diamond does 8, netherite does 9
but the iron and diamond axes have higher attack speed than the stone
Edit: stone + iron + diamond does 9 and netherite does 10
In bedrock edition the sword is better and it makes sense

Dream noticed that axe is stronger than a sword in 1.9 update (Combat Update) The critical hit is also strong and even the shield-axe combo
Cause axe are very good for 1.9 pvp u can disable shields and axe crits would increase the damage 100% - normal hit 150% - critical hit so he could do some mad damage
Huh I just strafe around shield users cuz shield slows a player down thus lowering their mobility.

Swords are actually useful If you disable someones shield you can crit spam and since the sword attack speed is match with your jump u will land every crit
I use a sword since an iron sword is basically the same dmg as an axe since with a sword you hit jump hit and does 6 hearts of dmg No armor and if u repeat the process u get alot of hits
Yeah, but with axes you can disable shields, and if you can get only one hit in, then axes are way better
@@luckylyrics3153 You can combo with swords and press S to bait people using an axe to easily deal tons of damage and if they block, have an axe in your hotbar to quickly disable it, and repeat
@@luckylyrics3153 yea but after you disable the shield the sword user will crit you out while your axe in cooldown and when your axe is ready to crit the player they will sheild and crit you many times so yea but axe can be good if u don't know how to do sword combos
For my opinion both swords a d axes are good for pvp
Basically swords require more skill to use corectly, but they still need to be paired with an axe to get the full potential
Now I'll always use a axe not a sword

aeee yo don't do that shit ....... netherite axe does 10 attack damage......netherite sword does 8 attack damage but it's twice as fast. So that means it has high damage per the second man.
Yeah use axes in early games but if you're enough geared then use swords

In bedrock it still has before 1.9 update combat so axes bash up your armour and sheild but it does less damage

Disabling shields is a 100 percent. The 75 percent chance and 25 percent chance is before 1.11
Dream is not the only person to consistently use an axe, and all speedrunners use an axe, otherwise good video!

A gold axe does the same damage as wooden axe but attacks at the speed of a diamond axe

I was searching for a video that will answer my question : Why is sword better than axe when axe takes more demage plus you can use it for wooden stuff? I am using axe like all the time and I never saw anyone else killing any mobs with an axe except myself like really I just dont get why is sword better????
the sword has more dps and getting comboes is far easier

They don’t. Unless you mean a netherite sword compared to a wooden axe.
In bedrock and PE, swords do more damage than axes.

as a Java player who does a lot of pvp, i like to mix and match but its more i use sword 75% of the time and axes 25% of the time

bedrock has a different type of axe rather than the java axe
Java wooden axe: 7 damage Bedrock Wooden axe: 3 damage
Java stone axe: 9 damage Bedrock stone axe: 4 damage
Java iron axe: 9 damage Bedrock iron axe: 5 damage
Java diamond axe: 9 damage Bedrock diamond axe: 6 damage
Java netherite axe: 10 damage Bedrock netherite axe: 7 damage
