Does Fast Biometrics = Strong Case

  • During a recent Immigration Answers show, a caller asked Jim and Daniel whether the fact that his biometrics (fingerprinting) appointment notice came quickly meant that USCIS liked his case. This is interesting because we often have people asking if their case is in trouble because their biometrics takes a long time. Jim liked this question and took a deeper dive in today’s video.

Thank you for this -- I always appreciate all of your informative videos and time you take to do them for us. What about a biometrics then getting your employment card 3 months later, then an interview 2 months after that. Is this fast and a good sign? Thank you!

Hi Jim, could you please indicate what the current trend for wait times for biometrics are (as of November 2021)? I'm in the Seattle area if that makes any difference.

I applied for a N-600, does that mean I will have to take the Civics Test during the Interview? I have already taken the Biometric.

My wife and I filed the I 765. Got the receipt notice and 48 month extension on March 1. Then they sent a second receipt . She has 2 receipts. Wierd. As if they processed it twice. Still no biometric appointment. Tried looking up the case status and it says "instructions were mailed to your address". Tried calling USCIS and it's been impossible to talk to a live person. It's been almost 2 months. Application was accepted February 10. Receipt was received March 1.

Even with an employment based AOS application? I've received my receipt notice after two days of submission, then biometrics notice within 3 weeks? I was thinking that maybe USCIS is going to conclude my case pretty quickly, specially if my interview is waived
