Viewing from North Carolina! I play with NC State University Pipes and Drums and U.S. Coast Guard Pipe Band. Your videos are super helpful. I learn things from each of them and I’ll share with our other drummers. I was a collegiate snare drummer, took 30 yrs off and started playing w/ a pipe band in 2018.

You are doing Moeller with the right hand, but what are you doing with the left with those light fill in taps? You seem to get rally fast for just straight wrist movements.

What type of practice pad do you use? Do pads matter or will any kind work?
I use the JK Pro pad, but MANY pads will be ideal. What do you use?

@@PipeBandDrumming with pipe bands, since 2003 (Pipes & Drums of the Chicago Police Dept). Was really looking forward to MHAF Winter Storm, but COVID shut it down, as you know. I was a G2 Soloist, in 2007, in the MWPBA. Learned a ton under Jim Sim, while I was practicing with Midlothian Scottish. After 2007 I competed with Chicago Caledonian(G3) and Northwest Indiana Pipes and Drums(G4). I have always been with the Chicago PD band, however.
