- When swapping a square taper crank arm, it’s important to note a few things so you replace it with a comparable arm.
The first is the shape of the mounting hole. There’s two types, a square mount and a diamond mount. Simply look at the mount of the old arm to see which one you need.
The other thing you’ll need to know is the crank arm length. This will generally be printed on the back of the crank arm. Common lengths are 165mm, 170mm, 172.5mm, and 175mm. There are other odd sizes out there, so always double check. If the length is not printed on the part, you can measure it by measuring from the center of the mount to the center of the pedal mount.

As a dutchmen I already knew this but im glad to see the knowledge is being spread bicycles are a great way to move around under 20/30km
Riding is a great way to get girls too
I don’t fully understand. Wouldn’t the peddle just be off by 90degrees? Would it be such a big deal? I’m very new to bikes
It would be off by 45 degrees, non adjustable at that point.
Happy to hear that you're new to bikes, enjoy this hobby!
@@petrsalek984 thanks man! I am having fun, but learning maintenance and customization is a bit hard because there seem to be so many different standards.
which material is better for the crank arm? steel or aluminum alloy?
Aluminum, generally.
@@Jeff_Rey thanks
Where to get a single left crank. Of prowheel
Online. Even if it doesn’t say prowheel. They produce most economical cranks.
