GAS. Thank you for providing my therapist a steady income.
sell one before to buy a new one 🤣🤣🤣 easier said than done I know haha
Pick up a Beri Edge, cheaper than the dfam, and even cheaper than a therapy session. Get it while you can. Global trade is about to grind to a halt (it took me over 4 months to receive the Edge I purchased in the states), instruments won't be easily available, and worse, you will be drafted into the military of your nation, where your life expectancy will be substantially curtailed. Just get the Edge now, and live a little while you have the chance.
This is a wonderful tutorial! Thanks. I love my DFAM even more now. Very much contemplating getting the M32 and then finally the Subharmonicon.
Dfam is a beast, SubHarmonicon is hard to get something out of it, I mean it take times... Mother 32 is more a classic moog sound but still sounds great. I think I regret selling mine
Your videos put DFAM at the top of my gear wishlist again. Great stuff!
Thanks buddy ! Haha for techno this stuff is like a must have!
Absolutely beautiful patches, thank you so much !
Glad you like them! Thank you!
Excellent! You got me going in a new direction, which I really needed 👍
Super, happy to hear that
Great sounds, thanks for sharing!
Thank you, my pleasure !
That was awesome to watch and I did learn a few things! Thank you🎉
happy to hera that ! cheers !
Great video still getting my head around mine so far most of my patches have been happy accidents this will help me to get to the point where I know what I'm doing
oh yes and that never ends, even after years I am still like " how the fuck I did that ?" haha
great video , very inspiring ! thanks for charing 🙂
Thanks for watching!
Great! ❤
Thanks, good to see you are still around haha, cheers ✌
Wow! Clean.
Thanks!
Great video again!
Thanks again!Cheers !
Thanks mate.
You're welcome!
well done!!
thanks 🙏
So short video but THX for sharing
You're welcome!
I got my DFAM this week. What an utterly phenomenal synth. I love how you can go from muted techno basslines to full on industrial percussion within a single patch. Just thinking about the sampling possibilities with my Digitakt makes my mouth drool.
yeah thats sh** is mental
hell yes DFAM plus digitakt is an immensely fun combo - the audio routing with effects on the digitakt add a lot to the DFAM, and if you can get your hands on a MIDI to CV converter you can sequence / sync the DFAM to the digitakt. plus yes just plain sampling it into the digitakt is stupidly entertaining, it's hard to get a bad sound out of it
@@OIP_1 thats seems like a great combo honestly !
dr genius , super great mate😁
Haha thank you! Cheers!
Proper video mate!
Your lighting is great on that one.
thanks man I appreciate ! I need to check your last hypnotic video, I saw it blow up 🤘
@@audioreakt yes its insane, first time that happen X) im so happy.
I can’t believe how sharp and snappy the envelopes sound on the DFAM. What a beast!
tbh I think its my favourite peice of gear
*after the push 2 of course
Ooh yeah that last one 👍
thanks 🙏
Thank you very much. You are a great guy. I hope you are doing well also.
thank you, I am doing well, hope you're good too !
very cool~
thank you!
Saludos desde México 🇲🇽 MOOG!!!❤️ RIFA locos 🤣
Cheers from France !
Wwooooohaaa!!
That the kind of reaction I like haha 👌
DFAM one year just started abketon in January. I wasn’t running Cv so my stuff was very different sounding. I didn’t think it affected it but I’m new.
what do you mean, kin term of sync with ableton ?
Every techno producer should have a DFAM!
Behringer EDGE is better, its got MIDI
@@devondetroit2529 But it's not even out yet is it?
definetely agree, it's like so perfect for techno, it look like it has been designed especially for that genre !
let's see how it sound and sync with midi before saying it's better, plus one thing is indeniable (although personal) : the look/UI, that edge is ugly as f*** compare to a dfam...
@@devondetroit2529 while the crave is undoubtedly a great machine, the real moog filter sounds better. I guess this will be true for the edge as well.
Hey Mate,
I just wanted to kindly point out that you set your sequencer to step 1 before you start your beat. So the bassline starts on step 2 while the DAW plays its step 1. With the DFAM you have to go to the last step and then let it run. Just a hint. Otherwise great video! Keep it up!
yeah yeah I know don't worry, but sometimes it doesnt really matter the start, it depend
ive never thought about the moog stuff my mate has a voyager and its very tempremental at times
I don't know about the voyager but the dfam for raw hypnotic or deep techno is a must have tbh
@@audioreakt i will have too get my hands on one i do love the moog rawness and there filters
How are you syncing the DFAM mate? I'm currently clocking it via the BeatStep, but it's an absolute pain due to the latency
I use ableton cv clock out, I use an output of my soundcard to send cv. you can do the same if you soundcard is compatible
Hey how are you, I’m lover about you video, would like to know if you could show us, how to make tekno like InSaNe TekNoLogY.
Staying in tekno but to change a bit and learn a bit more about this style of techno. Could be amazing thank you in advance ! 😅
Hi! Thank you for this great tutorial! How come your triangle sounds like a sawtooth. It has a lot of harmonics, which is not the sound I am used from a triangle wave. At least neither my dfam nor my matriarch sound like that in triangle mode. Are you using distortion or anything similar?
hello, I just did the test, the triangle from osc1 is sounding like a triangle, maybe slightly more harmonics, and it's true that the one from osc2 is almost sounding like a sawtooth.. I don't have any distortion, intnhe manual they say that both waveform are different from osc1 and osc2. Double check on your side I will eb curious to see if your triangle from osc2 is like mine, in between triangle and sawtooth
@@audioreakthi! Thanks for your reply. That’s really strange. I checked again and both triangle waves sound the same on my dfam. Also I couldn’t find anything in the manual saying they would differ. The only way, I get more harmonics is when I hard sync or fm. Your osc 2 has way more harmonics than mine 🤔
Amazing machine!Do you think these sounds are achievable on the subsequent 37?
well maybe but I can't make the sub37 fit any of my track where the dfam is on (almost) all of them!
@@audioreakt yeah me too i bought the sub37 as my first synth and like you, being a tekno producer,i mostly struggle to use its sound in my tracks.
what effect did you add to the dfam in ableton ?
on the video is Ableton Delay and Reverb if I remmeber well
I can't find answers on the following question about the DFAM, so i hope someone is covering me here:
I'm playing a Roland TR 8 (vers.1) and I would like to know if it's possible send out the rimshot via the assignable output with a single mono cable into the clock or the trigger from the DFAM. In my head this would be such an easy way to play or sync the DFAM but I don't know if the voltage would be to high or to low. Anyone can help who?
Idk to be honest and I don't want to tell you bs, what about using the midi out and using a midi/jack adapter
Is this patch available online from you to see it clearly? Thank you
no but I thought it would be enough to see if you put the video in 4k or 1080p and pause the video you should be able to see the knob position
Somewhere I learned that you have to advance the DFAM step to the last one so if you press start in ableton it hits on the first one. Or am I wrong? My clock is Ableton and the TR8S clocks the DFAM.
Yeah that’s correct, the DFAM doesn’t have a sequencer step reset. Eurorack modules such as the Disting mk4 have features to advance the clock for you when restarting a sequence/pattern (see the “Counter” module in the Disting). Other than that, you have to do it yourself 😢
yes I often do like that too, what I have been trying to do lately is that once everything is running and sync, I don't stop anything anymore and leave live running forever, and just mute solo to work on other element if needed 😅, it's really a shame the dfam doesnt have a reset.
I just got myself a disting I will look into that, I know there is also around a DFAM extension that you can buy somewhere but don't remember where and what it does 🤷♂️
The MAFD module from sonoclast or the dfam thing from another compagnie
You are not wrong, he is doing it wrong in the video 3:09
Which device u using for kick..?
i use ableton for kick+ rumble. kick is a sample from my sample pack r
That kick comes from the Moog DFAM?
no just the bassline
how do you clock it with ableton?
Ableton cv clock + dc coupled output from my interface to the dfam or nowadays multiclock
you said big, the sounds seemed small, that's okay small sounds are better than big ones, usually the only big one is in the sub bass, right.
when did I said that in the video ? at the end of the day if it's sounds good doesn't really matter you're right !
Not familiar with DFAM, but this seems approachable from a mother 32. Hmmm 🤔
yeah possibly, if you use the lfo to modulate your vco maybe
Why does my DFAM never sound this good
I hope after this video it does !
Ouch, my wallet
you won't regret it, with the Push2 these are the 2 best purchase I made in 10 years...
