that was cool to watch, beautiful ring
Thank you
Nice fit with the wire!! That looks tricky
Gorgeous ring, great choice of music. 👍👍👍
Absolutely stunning ring. Simple but elegant. ♥️ love from Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you! 😊
Gorgeous work!! Just so beautiful and as a jewelry designer, I can say this: whatever you get for that ring, it's not enough. People don't realize how much work goes into handmade jewelry and think it's mass produced. They don't understand how much work it takes, so just know your jewelry is amazing, unique and keep doing what you love because people will realize just how much work you do to make such gorgeous rings. 🙂
Lol. Wood is such an easy material. You undersell yourself If you put yourself on one level with him. Greetings, skilled worker
Thank you very much!
Yes I completely agree, people often don't realise how much time and effort goes into making jewellery, this video just shows a bit of the process and sped up!
Nice ring and song. A joy to watch!
Thank you 😊
SO UNBELIEVABLY BEAUTIFUL.
Thank you very much
That looks nice
That is so pretty with the simplicity of it all. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Freakin love this song. Love the oldies. Great work too
Help me with the name for my next jog please? Its just matilda soundtrack in my mind.
@@vaguelyAsh Little Bitty Pretty One by Thurston Harris. It was in Christine too
such a simple ring, and yet it still looks great!
Who else is thinking of buying one? I love N respect this type of artistic craftsmanship.
Thanks
I have this design and many more available on my etsy shop

The music kept me watching … but the ring at the end was STUNNING !
Yeah its a great song
And thank you
Beautiful ring
The song brought my Poppa back for a moment. Thank you! 🥹
Ooh make this design with a darker to almost black type of wood, that would be awesome!
I have already
This is a smoked eucalyptus and brass ring of mine

Impressive! Great song choice. Subscribed.
You are so talented. Beautiful ring
Thank you so much 😊
How do you accurately measure the depth of the opening for the brass inlay the way you did there? It seems like you just eyeballed it but it fit perfectly!
It's a wood so it soft enough.
@@itTchin that doesn’t answer my question in the slightest brother
They've probably made so many similar grooves over however many years they've been woodworking. They plunged it a certain amount then seemed to just have to square up the sides. It's glued in so the tolerance doesn't have to be a friction fit.
I didn't show the full process for this video but for a central inlay I carve a tiny bit off at a time and keep measuring to make sure it's central, I then use an offcut of the inlay material as a chisel to carve it to the perfect size
You can see me do this on a video of mine (how to make wooden rings with metal inlays)
@@MatthewFlowerDesign I watched that a few minutes ago and saw you use the offcut around 2 minutes. Here's the link for Demeter czcams.com/video/t6XNmAApiOo/video.html
This guy's an Artist!

Simply incredible! Am now mesmerized.
Will definitely be checking out your other creations 💯
Thank you! 😊
Bro my dad does stuff like this with mini diamonds, they look so cool! He has a shop too and also makes pens and drawers. This looks so good!
With such great skill and artistry, seems you could justify real gold enlay.
Thank you
I do also offer silver and gold but for this design I use brass as its a cheap but still beautiful alternative
pretty and outside the usual box.. love it!
That was pretty cool to watch. Finish product looked really good. I'd never wear a wood ring but hey... nice job.
Thanks 👍
That was awesome and a pleasure to watch ... Thank you for posting this clip.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
It may take a few moments extra but maybe try this next time when laying in the in lay. The first part of the ring in lay, sand it on an angle. So its thin at the start and gradually goes up the slope. Basically want the start of the inlay to be an acute angle and the end of the inlay to be the mirror image of that inlay. Youll have more surface area to bond and the transition is softer. Just my 2 cents. You can even sand above the transition area with the glue a copper penny, and that dust will ingrate with the glue so when you sand it after curing it looks more gradual and harder to spot where the two ends meet.
That's a very good tip!
Thank you very much
I use that technique then I add wood inlays but I nether thought to for metal inlays
I will definitely give that a go on my next ring!
@@MatthewFlowerDesign if you get a hose clamp and boil whatever wood you are trying to make in to a ring, put the hose clamp on as tight as you can then let the wood dry for a day or two. Undo the hose clamp and the fibers will be compressed. Make a ring with the brass or whatever wire you want to inlay, blowtorch and silver or gold solder and join the ring so it is just a little bigger than the compressed size of the wood. Put the metal ring onto the wood and boil the wood once again. This will decompress the fibres leaving the metal ring stuck on the wood permanently with no spottable joint at all. From there take it to your lathe and drill the centre out then turn it to size and finish :)
Fabulous Mathew!!!
Thanks!
Nice work!
😍👍 That is absolutely gorgeous!
Looks like fun. Thanks for posting
You make it look way too easy, that's beautiful.
Lots of practice! I've made over 1500 rings now

Beautiful work...I was distracted watching for a 1958 Plymouth Fury coming down down my hallway though 😳
Lmao i wonder how many people will get this
Very pretty.
Simply Elegant

Elegant? More like dry and boring.
I never realized how pervy that song was before. Nice ring.
How cool! Love watching these kinds of things, end result was awesome!
This oak ring is fantastic! So interesting to see how its made. How clever and gifted you are! I tried to use the link for your etsy shop but it didn't work! It said, "too many requests!!" Very well done. All the best from your newest fan/friend, Sharon, in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia.
Thank you very much!

Man that’s a beautiful ring
The skill, the product, the song .....what a video
Thank you very much 😊
That is so beautiful 😍
Thank you 😊
purple heart with a brass inlay would look good imo
Purple heart, sapelle, birdseye maple. Lots of pretty wood.. oak is the least attractive imo.
this is beautiful, great artistic work
"artistic" lmao. Thats craftsmanship. Every lathe operator can do that with some practise. Hell. I could learn that within 5-10 trys and explain it to you and you would be able to do that too.
Art has message and Emotion, the value lays in the process, this is skillful step by step crafting.
If you think that is special better start respecting any mechanic and woodworker around here.
Just jam’n to the music while watching
Gorgeous!
Thank you! 😊
Nice!
Dude that’s awesome bro!! I’m making a ring right now with a lathe in my engineering class!
