  • The Alto TX Series of PA speakers are one of the best options when on a budget, is the new TX3 series even better than the TX2 series?
    In this video we look at the TX315, TX308 and compare them beside the TX208 and TX215.

      You can gig as a trailer park boy one man band. Sounds like fun to me. If you are just amusing yourself, I'd have gone with the Positive Grid Spark practice amp instead.

      I'm a solo acoustic musician and I use the TC Helicon VG at a few bars in the city which are pretty big/spacious rooms...I'm wanting to pick up a smallish speaker that can double as a floor monitor, as well as an additional speaker - either connected to my Traynor acoustic amp (65 watts), or small Behringer mixer...would you recommend the TX308?

    Is it possible to daisy-chain from Alto to studio monitors?
    Venue I used has a side room that holds about 40 people, for overflow. I’d like to run a small studio monitor to that room.

    I have been searching for good speakers that I can use to connect to my projector for outdoor movies. I currently have a 225" screen with an Xgimi Horizon projector and want good all around sound. However I'm not trying to break the bank. I currently have a Sony XP500 bluetooth speaker but it doesn't do the job. I am drawn to alto since they build quality however I'm open to recommendations. Would column speakers with the subwoofer be ideal? Help!

    Hi. Do you think is a better idea to get to tx308 instead of one Headrush FRFR 108? For a guitar modelling pedal.
    I'd rather have stereo but idk if 2 of these are enough for small gigs? If not I'll get one Headrush and add a second one later since 2 Alto TX cost the same as one Headrush where I live but Idk if 2 350W can be as good as one 2000W

    My mate has two of the TS310 speakers and I was very tempted to get the same. Who doesn't like 2000w per speaker?! But given he only ever turned them up to about 10% at home, perhaps it's a waste. I reckon a pair of TX312 would be adequate for my needs for a gig. Maybe with a sub? Hmm.

    • @WarrenPostma

      A pair of TS310s these costs about as much as one guitar FRFR and gets you the same net effect as owning two FRFRs, so if you want a home monitoring system for a recording/studio room, where you play guitars or keyboards, these are a great value. Not needing to use them beyond 10% of their capability means that for those odd times you do want to put these in a bigger room, and you don't need to rent a PA for those four days in four years that you use these outside your house, that's not a waste. Ever priced out a PA rental?

      I just bought a pair of TX312 units and plan to add a couple of 12" Harbinger subs (they do have crossovers which the Alto subs lack) for small gigs and for rehearsals (we all go direct) just waiting to have more money to get a nice digital console so in total I'm looking at a budget of $2.3K for an easy to transport setup that covers every need for small gigs.

    • @GetintheMix
      @GetintheMix  Před 2 lety +1

      In general there isn't a certain speaker size/power for a certain amount of people, there are many factors to consider such as room size, surfaces, outdoor/indoor, etc. However, being on Alto's budget end of the spectrum and the TX310's being the smaller of the range, it can be assumed they wouldn't quite cut it for an event of that many people.
      We'd recommend upping the budget if higher sound levels are important for an event of that size.

    Hi Mate, I've one question. When it says 300W or 700W, does it really get loud to that level or it's only half what we get in actual?
    Another Q. If compared with Alto Tx310 vs. OSL pro12" vs Beharinger PK112A, which one would be better with music quality as loud output doesn't make sense if it doesn't sound well?

    • @WarrenPostma
      @WarrenPostma Před rokem +2

      You can't correlate wattage to actual sound pressure levels in any precise way. Certainly you can't directly compare a "300W" unit from one manufacturer to a "300W" unit or "350W" unit from another manufacturer.
      "Loud to that level" would be a question about how much a dB meter will read. If you tested a 15" woofer-equipped PA in a small or medium room, you would find that you can get more quality than any 8" speaker. Will you hear the difference in quality between a 12" and 15" unit? Maybe. Maybe not. Depends on your ears, the room, and the source material.
      With your songs, in your space, with your ears? Nobody can tell you that. You have to audition this kind of gear and try it out for your application. The wattage specs don't matter, let's face it.
      The size and quality of the horn and the size and quality of the main woofer (the big speaker), and the quality of the power amplifier and the inputs on the unit these are not something you can tell from reading specs. Lots of people consider these Altos the best value in PA. Anything cheaper than these is certainly garbage. Lots of units that cost a lot more than these are only marginally better. If you want value for money, Alto's TX3's seem to be kicking everybody's bum.

  • @tripppsta9444
    @tripppsta9444 Před 2 lety +15

    Stop talking 'watts' and do some research.... 50 or 100 'extra watts' (if true) mean absolutely nothing in sound level output. In order to get only 3 additional decibels of sound from a speaker at 1 meter you MUST DOUBLE the wattage... So if you have 100 decibels from a 600 watt speaker you must double that to 1200 watts to get just 103 decibels. Stop selling and get real.
