No, I want to go on holiday to Pattaya. Living there would become normal and Pattaya ain't normal. That taxi ride from Bangkok to Pattaya is the best feeling in the world and I don't want to lose that.
And walking up the stairs at Suvarnabhumi...the worst 🤣🤣
Oh yes u nailed it. And even better if taxi makes a halfway pitstop and u step out of the car and feel the hot thai air and then step into a 711 and hear the legendary and comforting: ding dong!

The Fishernans village is going to be another great addition. Growing daily with some great restaurants,bars and now gents clubs. Find myself going to Pattaya less and less these days.

They just installed them in this area, put one at every junction... even if you are on the main road. So no one even looks at them. 🤣🤣

Brilliant video and one I really enjoyed. Good to see a different side of Pattaya (I've been around a lot of the area on the back of a scooter but this was better as I got to understand the Katesin(s) and Rajchawaroon (sp) roads - probably because I wasn't the ever so slightly terrified pillion passenger. ) Oh, whilst I'm not really a foodie, I can recommend Oxygen - good sunsets and views after dark as well.
I stayed at the harmony inn Hotel last year great little hotel and i really like the area and i walked to the big buddha

Dave , a great video of an unknown area for many people , I look forward to to your next video , I have been to Pattaya park a couple of times over the years and a big market I was taken to , it’s looks very nice , I am flying to Thailand on Monday , a few days in Bangkok and then 3 weeks in Pattaya to relax ,hopefully I will see you on your travels , I am in the middle of redundancy negotiations 27 years working for the same company , my plan is to retire to Thailand

i think pratumnak one of the best places to visit as wonderful resturants massage shops and excellent beach and a few good bars to more upper class then the red lights district of lk metro and soi b and im staying in pratumnak when come back in june.

Pratumnak: The first hotel I stayed at was the Cosy Beach back at the end of the 80s. I cannot remember there being anything on Rajchawaroon road at that time until you got down to what was then the beach road. You really felt like you were in the middle of nowhere.
Lol I was talking to Nong just this morning. I stayed at the Royal Cliff back in the nineties and came out of the back gate one day. It felt like I had walked into the real Thailand 🤣🤣
@@DavidAndNong Yep, they were only two main hotels in the area. There used to passion fruit and mango trees all along the lanes.

Have done most of that Cozy Beach area by bike. The road which leads to the lighthouse and then WS might also be a good one for a vid at some point.🚴♂
R Sole : have to remember that one , cause some of these here around soi 5 in the evening and sometimes in the mornin'.
Yes for sure, daytime in the town I find the worst, but yes Soi 5 can be a bit hazardous at times. Will do the Bali Hai lighthouse tour soon. Still editing part two of this video 🤣🤣

Ive been living at executive residence 3 for a year now and just renewed my lease, 82 sq m room on floor 2, 1 br with 2 ac. Pay 18000 a month which is ok with me. The area is quiet with less traffic and i can get to jomtien or central pattaya in 10 minutes by bolt. Looking forward to the fishermens village!
GREAT VIDEO 👍👍+1. We're going to do 3 months a year 10 June to 10 September in Pratumnak from 2027 until we die.
a) Spring season in France
b) Summer 2 month Thailand tourist visa on French passport, side trip to Kuala Lumpur for a week then back in for 3 weeks visa waiver on UK passport.
c) Then give the keys back and shuffle back to France for autumn season until Christmas.
d) Winter 3 months in Spain 👍😀.

When I visited Pattaya in 1998 I’m sure I stayed around that area, I stayed at cosy beach hotel

I was in Pratanmak last November and really liked it. However, there were many Soi dogs. David, are these dogs a real problem to pedestrians especially at night? You know how territorial all dogs are.
yes the dogs are every where on the roads pavements without collars but they dont attack you thank goodness👍.

Great video. I am living in London right now, at 09:45 you leave your bike outside the shop, there is no way you could leave your electric bike here and pop into a shop as you did, it would be gone in seconds.
If I was in the town I would padlock it up, but generally crime here is very low 🙏🙏
When I stayed at cosy beach there where none of these buildings, it was just trees everywhere

I'm looking to move to Thailand. It's good to see the neighborhoods and I was wondering about renting apartments or condos and the costs range if you know. Thanks Dave.
Apartments cover a huge range, you can get a fan room (no a/c) for around 4k per month, a studio for 10/12k, one bed 12/40k and 2 bed 18/60k per month. The higher prices would normally be newer buildings sea view etc. The rooms above Nongs shop are usually full at around 5k per month 🙏🙏

Hi there. I’ve been in UNIXX now for almost a year and a half so I’ve seen all seasons. It’s a big condo unit I believe 1600 rooms over 45 floors. 4 lifts.
For a big condo it’s very well managed and run imo in terms of cleanliness and maintenance of grounds. Plenty of parking for motorbikes and cars despite its size. Security is pretty good
If you’re a gym person the gym is far too small for the size of the place. The ground floor swimming pool is great for kids and if you want to avoid them there a lap only pool on the 6 th floor which has a lot of sun beds and rarely gets packed.
The biggest downside is during the high season when the place is busy the wait times for the lifts can be a bit of a pain especially if one is out for maintenance. I stay on the 16th, and that can be bad enough. It must be torture if you’re on a high level.
There is also a shop which sells all the usual stuff you may need and a small restaurant cafe above it.
Overall the best thing for me is the location. I spend a lot of time in Pratumnak and Jomtien but like the occasional night out in Pattaya and it’s great quick access to all of them.
I certainly wouldn’t put off anyone staying at UNIXX despite the issues I’ve mentioned.
@keef6586 oh wow! Thanks for the great first hand info. I zeroed in on Unixx because of exactly what you said, the location. I was looking for something that was nearer cosy Beach area and would allow for a night out in pattaya but not be in the middle of it. Thank you so much for the information!
@@The_Potato You’re welcome mate. I know how difficult it can be when you’re new for the area. So many condos to choose from but pretty much everything I wanted is fulfilled here.
It ticks the vast majority of boxes for me despite the lift issues at times. You’re literally as David showed a minute up the hill to the start of cosy beach and one thing I forgot to mention is the park area at the top of the hill. Great walking area and very popular early morning and evening for those keen on exercise
@keef6586 it ticks a lot of boxes for me also. I definitely lit up when David mentioned the park and that it was great for walking. If I get the itch to hit the weights hard, I think I've seen some gyms around the area. And it isn't far from the language school I was looking at, too. I love the place, but do i see myself living here? Hmm first i have to work 15 years more before i retire, and before that its out of the question. Unless youre a Millionaire or a drug lord. And when i finally retire and not dead yet i might choose Vietnam. Thailands anti farang mentality is getting worse and worse...

Yes the hill is a toughie for sure. A few have said Vietnam is a decent choice, but 15 years is a fair bit away, so a lot could change. Will maybe have to take Nong to Vietnam for a few days away 🙏🙏
