Why do you think it’s ok for you cat to eat meat and not you?
@@deanabrooks8537 I do eat meat lol
I was expecting my 1 year old cat to take some convincing when I came home from the store with chicken feet, liver, kidneys, pork loin, and necks. He devoured his whole meal in no time! He was so happy. Definitely take care to cut up the food. Most cats are bad chewers and mine needed small starburst-sized chunks
Can just chicken breast work instead of feet and everything else?
@@rose-kp5si
No...it's not nutritionally complete.
(If fed exclusively.)
are the chicken feet and chicken neck safe for them? I just wanna make sure😅
Yasmin Grace yes the bone is very important. Otherwise their bones will deteriorate.
What if your picky cat won't eat egg yolk or oysters or sardines?
My cats went straight to raw as though they had never eaten a meal in their life. They came from a vegan home.
Horrible, I hope the owners were charged with animal abuse!
Omg I wish that would work for me!
Imagine not even being able to follow the philosophy of veganism to the point the cat gets starved and nutritionally deficient. Totally vegan right there
I feel so bad for those cats. Glad they're getting the right diet now! OMG. I wish That Vegan Teacher read this, as she is killing her dog by feeding her a vegan diet. Not joking. Check her YT page out. It's terrifying what she is doing to her poor dog Bella. I will be starting a petition for her to get her dog removed and to a better home. I also hear rumors; she will be adopting out her dog... Not sure. Just wishing Bella is saved from this monster. I have been constantly reporting her for animal abuse.
@@SpringoStar as a vegan who is currently switching my new cat from kibble to raw, unlike cats, dogs are omnivores and with proper supplements and a nutritionally balanced diet, dogs can be vegan. cats are obligate carnivores though.
I switched to a raw diet a month ago. My kitty is doing so well now. His fur is very shiny and he is VERY HAPPY!
2021 shortage of cat food has me here should’ve been here because of how much better it is for them
My 10 month old boys transitioned really easily :) One of them never ate his wet food, only kibble and (strangely) he transitioned the easiest! It was almost like he was thinking “Finally!! Good food!” They may surprise you 💙
The quality of this video is just out of this world. Thank you so much!!
Thank you!
I live with my parents and have gradually warmed them up to better and better foods for our kitten. First a grain free kibble... then grain free wet food... then a premade cooked food... so close to getting the go ahead on raw food! Hopefully the "supporting local farms" spin will work on them, haha.
I wasn't even looking into a raw diet but all the sudden my baby is going to be eating like a queen .thank you! Very easy to understand tips and guide !!
I have an older cat (13Y, NM) he was diabetic as of this January [2022] and he was on Royal Canin HP soy for his IBD. His levels were as high as 500.
Thanks to the message board of Feline Diabetes that's been active since the early 2000's, I was able to quickly understand the condition and start at home testing and then eventually doing a Free Style Libre to constantly monitor his glucose levels. I also switched his food to wet Purina DM. He is officially in remission right now, the last day he had insulin being February 2nd, and his daily glucose levels range between 50-150 throughout the day.
However he had an IBD flair up, and so that means I need to try a different diet...I'm trying really hard to give my best friend a healthier life. So thank you for posting this.
I'm trying to find formulas and figure out what he needs to keep his IBD more under control.
Those prescription diets are going to keep you spinning in circles. The ingredients are trash and I'm appalled that vets recommend them. They tried to put my cat on one of them and she almost blew up and gained weight which would have created further complications. That was the last straw and I switched to raw. I hope this work out for you. The corporate-sponsored vets make the poor cats live as perpetual patients instead of actually healing and drains our wallets.
It took a week for my cat to adapt to raw food. She would skip most meals until she's really hungry. She now prefers quails and chickens to mice. She goes crazy on beef organs too, but those are occasional treat.
May I ask where you found the quail? Thank you.
The best video to educate anyone who’s interested in raw diet for cats. Thank you!
I appreciate it!
@@PawsofPrey thank u
This morning I took chicken gizzards and hearts, a tin of sardines, three eggs, and some tilapia filets, put them in a blender and fed my three cats. I don't feed them the same every day but this is a treat for them. A big spoonful each.
I switched my kitty from canned to ground raw a few months ago (pre-made since I don't have the time nor skill to do all the balancing and prepping myself). She was a little hesitant to try the raw at first since it was still cold from the fridge, but I coaxed her into taking a bite by sticking a few of her favorite treats on top. Once she took that first bite, it was like a lightswitch went off in her brain that was like hey! This is food! And she hasn't had a problem since haha. She inhales her meals like a vacuum cleaner the moment I put her bowl down!
She does have some mild tartar buildup on her teeth, so I am planning to add some non-ground raw meaty bones to her diet soon. Guess we'll have to wait and see how she reacts to those!
May I ask, where do you get the pre-made raw meat? Is it from a company?🙏🏻
It needs to be prey temperature…
This is a great video, i love your pets! pls keep uploading!!
This was such a helpful video! We appreciate all of the tips and tricks, especially for picky kitties!

Your guides are amazing. Thank you for making them! I was wondering if you had any suggested online shops to get the meat or any premade raw food portions. Thank you again for the great guide.
Awesome video ! and thank you for linking our website :)

All my cats were constipated when I was making my own raw catfood. I was using a recipe calculator
@@nathanrayne it may be too much bone for them, or not enough organ. Cats require less bone than dogs.
One of my cats, an older Tom wouldn’t eat raw meat, but he loved whole prey! He would played with his meal for a few minutes then find a nice spot to start chewing, he’d lick the blood off the floor, my dog is kinda scared of whole prey...he barks at even chunks of fur.
Amazing. Thank you so much.
Excellent video!!
Thank you for this!!
I work for a high quality pet food supply company and I cringe when I hear what people feed their cats, even those who have good intentions and talk about feeding a raw diet are not supplementing it and they are giving things like lean chicken breast 🤦♀️
No nutritional value at ALL
This is amazing tyvm
thank you so much for this video
Thank you friend very informative
@4:00 - I would also like to add to try different *textures* because cats can be picky about textures too so some like Paté, some I'm like ground, some like chunks.. you have to try different things.
I've tried raw food for my cats and they just did not like it so I will continue to try in the future but for now I give them Weruva canned food and it's probably the best canned food I could find.
They look amazing, they are healthy, their coats look great and they have a lot of energy.
My oldest cat will be 18 years old next month and she still plays like a kitten❣️

I’ve been thinking about feeding my cat raw, thanks for the help.
this is the best video ! thank you !
Aw you're welcome!
This is super helpful! We have been trying to get my cat to get to a healthy weight by reducing her food portions and make her exercise more, but she never loses the weight BECAUSE of the dry kibble 🤦♀️ I didn’t know what else to do. We get a really good brand of dry food, so I never made the correlation that it is because of dry food that she’s retaining all this weight.
Dry food contains plant based starches, sugars, additives, fillers no matter how healthy they say it is. Their bodies cannot metabolize this plant stuff because they're carnivores and it messes up their metabolism and organs. No matter how domestic, we cannot change a cat's DNA and dietary needs. Definitely keep learning all you can about raw and even prey diet. It's the best and ends up being cheaper depending on meat costs in your area, you won't regret it.
I've watched these videos over and over for the last month or more; our entire household is switching pets to raw! my question is: when should we stop feeding kittens 10% of their body weight? we're preparing for a new addition coming in at 16weeks (:
this video is so beautiful, youre amazing!!! thank you!!
1:56 that's actually good to hear actually I say that because I can actually use that to my advantage when training my cat to do tricks and that's all
Thank you so much! We have many cats at home (8 right now) and I want to give them a better life. Your recipe is not only easy to follow and clear, it is affordable. I can’t afford a grinder and this was almost making me give up on the raw feeding, but you showed me it is possible otherwise. Thank you! The kitties thank you too 😊
By far, THIS is the best dietary advice for Cats on CZcams!
This was so helpful thank you for this. My cat loves wet-food so I think she'll be okay with trying ground meat.
I hope so! :)
Under rated video
Thanks!
My cat is such a pain tonight with food. She has kittens, and the one I'm keeping is weening onto a raw diet, and of course I'll have her go raw soon too. So I've been letting her finish whatever the kitten doesn't finish every night. Tonight I decided to make her own bowl suited just for her weight, and she only ate a little bit before she got bored of it and then wanted to see if I had anything better, waiting to give her more meat from the counter!!! And then she went and ate the other kittens kibble when I went to feed them right after. And then I gave some more raw to the kitten and she wanted to eat THAT food. She does this with water too. I can pour her fresh water, and then get myself a glass of water, and suddenly her water isn't good enough!! Or act like she hasn't had water ALL DAY, when there is still water in her dish....so annoying lol. I usually end up saying "here you go your majesty!" As I serve her...
Do you have a video on where you get your meats from because I don’t know where I’d go to buy all of this and I love how you explain things thank you
She has a video showing that, your local farmers market is a great place to start looking. If you're in the U.S another awesome resource she talks about is the website raw feeding Miami , it's a great alternative if you have exhausted all local options. To find her full video just search "primal pack source raw food"
Do you have a video of the best and healthiest wet food options?
Yeeeaaah
You all are extremely blessed
My cat will not eat wet except for in the morning first thing and barely
I have to keep offering it to her, putting it on my finger for her to lick off then comes back to her feeding area throughout the day expecting her kibble but it’s still the wet and she doesn’t want it
This has been going on for months!
I blended everything with lots of water. It was pretty watery but my cats ate it all thankfully
Thanks for the awesome video! ♥
I started feeding our Cats with Raw meat a while ago, but my old cat's (18 y old) really show no interest at all in that kind of food xD but my younger ones (2 + 4 y old) are already liking it alot. I hope my old cat's will get to like it someday too :') i mean i only want them to be healthy :<
And I'm also really disapointed about the kibble's that are sold here, mostly it's just 70% of some plant carbs and the rest is some kind of "meat". Plus the price is really high >.
I'm glad your kitties like it! It's tough with seniors but it can be done!
Your videos are amazing. I am so glad I found your channel. My cat is struggling with Inflammatory Bowel disease and unfortunately, the only food that he will eat and helps with his diarrhea is Hill's z/d wet food. But I want to transition him to raw and am trying to educate myself about all this.
If you haven't read the felinenutrition.org article, "Feline Inflammatory Bowel Disease Nature and Treatment" I highly recommend it. It led to a game changer/life saver solution for her (our! 🙂) 9 year old Mikey when she wasn't willing to have him suffer like that for much longer. She also took him to a "cats only" veterinary clinic in our city (KC) who were much more willing to work with her diet-wise for Mikey than the more traditional one he went to previously. Mikey is fourteen years old now, happy and healthy. Wishing you and your furbaby the best!
@@Charlestonthecool41 thank you so much! the link you sent me doesn't work though.
My cat has the same illness, he loves raw food but I didn't want to feed to him because of this. I'm going to give it a try
My 7 year old cat is over 22lbs! We strictly ration his portions, but he is food obsessed and won't touch anything but the kibble. I am hoping to break his addiction and get him healthier.
kibble is addictive and i wish i could document the behaviour changes by giving them kibble vs wet vs raw
Thank you for the video. The math during the balanced type description is incorrect. 7% is not 0.7 but 0.07. Same with the other %
@4:43 -
Darn Mom.. it's on my face, not on my nose!! 😸
Regarding the Omega-3, our cat hates fish for whatever reason 🤔 does anyone have suggestions for an alternative way to get Omega-3?
Hi Primal Pack! I currently feed my kitty Orijen Tundra dry food, and Orijen Regional Red treats, but want to transition him to 100% raw. I am new with raw though, and appreciate your videos. If you have additional resources to help guide me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
I am debating switching my cats to raw, trying it again, but man this is so overwhelming haha 😅
A good basic foundation to start with is maybe a piece of chicken thigh, chicken foot, and a tiny piece of liver. And between the two meals you can give them a heart or two for a snack. (Not too much liver, they can get liver poisoning if they eat too much, no bigger than a thumb tip).
Where do you get rabbit, quail and some of these other things that are not typically in grocery stores.
this is underrated. my rescue cat is getting fat from eating kibbles. i will change to raw meat pretty soon.
How long should the food be out? Can we refrigerate and then be eaten again?
I have a question that I cannot seem to find in your other videos. So I already understand that you need to feed kittens at least 4 - 6 times a day. But how about Adult Cats?
You can split their daily allowance in however many feedings you want. Adult cats usually do best on it split between 2-3 feedings.
My cats got no problem with the dry food and wet food, but I feel like giving them a raw diet would be a really good idea
It's better in the long run. They may seem fine but their body can start to break down as they get older and live shorter lifespans because of all the preservatives, additives, rendered meat waste, etc. Same principle as a kid may be fine eating McDonald's every day for a few years but effects will start to show when they are older.
Thankyou very much for this helpful video! how long does it take to change my cat's diet from kibbes to raw meat?(not specific, but how many days/weeks?)
It depends completely on your cat! Some cats take a few weeks, some up to 6 months! Go at your cat's pace.
@@PawsofPrey Thanks so much!!!
I stick to the same amount of kibble every day to maintain her weight. As a treat I feed her wet food as 1 meal. And some muscle meat chunks sometimes.
Want to try some various animal meats in the future.
U gotta be kidding me. U give her WET FOOD as a treat?!?!? Wet food/raw food should be the very BASE of their diet, not a “treat” and NO KIBBLE! U obviously have no idea how to properly take care of your cat.
please help me about this, its bugging my head off ; is there any ingredient missing even on a perfect raw diet which canned or dry food contains? i mean if i fed my cat with raw his entire life is it possible that someday he get sick due to lack of certain ingredients ( vitamin a to z, you name it, calcium, enzyme ...etc )... or is it ok to feed my cat raw + canned food as i split the week 4 days raw - 3 days canned? or %50 raw + %50 canned per portion?
this is so stressful to think of
My cat is dying of late state kidney disease she has been fed a diet of fancy feast at least half her life, she's 14 . if I had known I would have switched sooner, but at this point it's too late. She could barely eat food out of a blender. She's the last cat I'll ever own.
Please write a book
what are high quality brands of canned wet food that you recommend? my two cats are already used to wet food, but one has IBD and almost every canned food i’ve tried gives her horrible diarrhea (i’m switching from kibble to raw specifically because of her digestive issues).
Ziwi Peak and Tiki Cat are the ones I think of off the top of my head. I hope the digestive issues get under control!
Would it be smart to sprinkle some kibble on top of raw?
FYI: Tilapia fish is EXTREMELY HIGH in Taurine!!! Plus it has lots of healthy oils and omegas!!!!
What if my cats already prefer wet over dry food can I just start with just canned right away??
My GF needed this video BAD!! I feed my dog's all 100% Raw and have been trying to convince her for year's to just let me swap the cat's to full RAW as well.. I'm just glad theres video's out these day's that actually talk about WHY kibble is bad instead of just why you should feed RAW.. I think she just had to hear all the same info from someone that wasn't "ME" LOL
I'm thinking about swapping my dog over to raw! What do you suggest for meats?
Hii!! I have a question...my cat is really skinny (he's always been like this) he is neutered and he has a good appetite. I took him to the vet and the doctor said he is healthy, that's just his body type. I would like him to get a tad bit of weight tho. Any suggestions?
Hi i love your videos alot. Its very informative and changed my perspective about kibbles. Sooner this week i will be attempting to transition my cat to raw. He is already been eating both dried and wet. I have small question about transtioning if you dont mind asnwering. Is it solely based on the pickyness of the animal not beacuse itnmay cause upset stomach. But based on your vid i learned that it is about acidity lvls of the food. That may cause the upset stomach. Sorry for the very long comment. But i hope u get a chance to read it and bring clarifications, Thanks!!
Hi! So is your question about pickiness or the acidity when digesting?
@@PawsofPrey so like from what i had understand. Cats needs to transition from diffirent food to avoid getting an upset stomach due to sudden change of food formula. Like kitten dry food to adult Or different brands. But if my cat for example have no trouble and not picky on eating different kinds of food, may it be for kitten or adult, dry to wet, and raw to cooked. Should that be okay to fully change his diet completely making it faster to transition?? Solely becuase he wasnt picky?
This video is very informative, but about equally intimidating and ultimately repellant to those curious about or looking into changing their cat's diets.
This I totally agree with. I find a raw diet without a complete mix to be way too overwhelming for a normal working person 😬
@@Gforu81 there's this company that offers a semi raw diet in a way that is extremely simple to ease your way into a raw diet for the kitty. Or even as a sufficient replacement for traditional kibble or canned foods, but I'll let you have a look and decide- it's a company online called smalls. Search em, check it out. My cat doesn't act like she's in withdrawals from Crack when she's hungry anymore, and she's steady losing weight at a very healthy pace, not rapidly, and generally enjoys the food. It seems to be just what she needed and I'm glad we found them because going straight to a raw diet would have been daunting
@@Verbatimorgish Hi, thanks! I have looked at smalls but I am just apprehensive about the subscription. I started with frozen raw nuggets from Quest (Steve's real food) this week. I had to special order at a local pet store. It was a little rough in the first couple days but so far kitty is eating, seems to like it but it's definitely a whole new world. No doubt it's got to be better for our cats than kibble and I was feeding hills canned before 🤢. Keep me posted if you get new brand updates 😉😸 it's hard to figure out what's best and to eventually try variety plus new proteins 😬
my thoughts exactly
I am trying this for 6 years now :( Now one of my cat has struvite problems. Even tho I fed kibbels with really high animal proteins next to can food
If I don’t want to give raw heart so how I cook it without losing the taurine in it please ?
What are your thoughts on the AAFCO Nutrient Profile for Cats?
so my cat need s 113gr. Raw meet daily that means I can do 57gr in the morning and night?
If my cat is on a free food dry diet, do you advise against going straight to raw if she will?
My cat currently eats tiki cat pate as he has bad teeth, and will need them removed, if I were to feed him raw would blending it cause an issue ?
Ground raw should not be a problem.
Can you give a projection of yearly cost?
I’m slowly introducing adult cat to raw . Started with chicken added some sardines . He’s ok so far but he still wants kibble as well. The big problem is he’s a grazer and at night he’s only eating a few bites each time of raw , how’s he going to be balanced ? I throw out at end of day I really don’t know what to do at this point I put in fridge but then it’s cold uh
Cricket
Do you have any worry for worms? With the raw food? How do you assure that doesn’t happen
My two cats (female, 8 year old) and (male, 6 year old) both eat wet food two times a day and also free eat kibble. I want to cut the Kibble, but my cats both go outside and are very active, especially the male one. When he gets home, he always seems hungry and is therefore eating Kibble between his meals. How should I cut the Kibble without underfeeding him? Should I start giving him wet food more often?
Probably and if you gradually change over to raw, it'll end up being cheaper for you (depending on meat prices in your area). The same $6 I spend of just 2 cans of wet food, I can buy a big pack chicken thighs that can feed a cat for almost a month. Pack of hearts is around $4 and tub of livers $2-3. Supplements you only have to buy once in a blue moon. You can grind your own egg shells for their calcium when they're not having bones.
What would you suggest for a 12 year old male cat, who is suffering from food allergy? My vet put him on a special diet, which basically consists of dry kibbles, but the problem is still there. I have thought about switching to raw food, but considering his age, I’m afraid it wouldn’t help much. What’s your opinion?
Many if not most American vets are subsidized by the pet food corporations so they will prescribe garbage to keep your cats sick to keep milking you for money. They keep the cat forever a patient and never actually cure it and it's animal abuse. It happened to me. I eventually stopped listening to mine and switched to raw and I never had to go back to the vet again. The only issues I deal with is occasional UTI because one of my cats ambushes and attacks the other one and she was always sensitive from the start. So I mostly have to be addressing mental health now.
My cat was extremely naughty nd vocal for the first month without kibble but we now are back to our normal, he ate the raw meat straight away but he constantly moaned for his bowl of biscuits
I tried to add a teasoon of ready made raw into wet food and he refused to eat. I mixed it with the wet. He's been eating only wet for over 5 years. Anything I can do to entice him? I've tried broth, freeze dried liver treats crumbled, and he still won't eat it
I have been throwing my cats diet all around and now has dhirea should I just go to raw now because really it won't make a difference?
Does boiling affect the nutrition? I dont think i want to feed my kitten raw 🤔
i might get a kitten soon should i do raw food or bought food im not sure
I doubt i have the math skills to figure all of this out unfortunately. I will try a commerical raw food company that u recommended that is nutritionally complete. A+, Answers i think. Thanks for the good info!!!
😅 I am on the same boat, she lost me when she started doing the equations.
I'm really apprehensive about the bones getting stuck in their oesophagus/ digestive tract, even my vets are suggesting that I should feed them kibbles atleast once a day and keep them on home cooked boiled- deboned food. Can anyone suggest me with this?
I have adopted a cat who has dental issues :( when I got him he had a fractured tooth and a missing tooth. He's not in any pain but would a meaty bone be too much for him? I brush his teeth every day.
You can used crushed eggshells for calcium until his teeth get better. Just dry out the egg shells then put them in a chopper to grind. Just be careful not to inhale the shell dust. You can put it in an empty spice shaker. I looked up health benefits and apparently eggshells help in restoring human teeth ad bones better than artificial calcium supplements! It may help you cat too.
Make sure the eggs are organic!!! Also it's good for humans to add egg shell powder to your food as well!
Where can I buy the meats? Is store bought okay?
I also feed my 2 kittens kitten replacement milk 🥛 is it okay to keep giving them milk well transitioning to a raw diet / on a full raw diet?
Kefir is the best to give as it's packed with probiotics and has the lowest amount of lactose (sometimes none at all) raw goats milk is the next best thing. It's not 100% necessary though.
What are your thoughts on free dried homemade raw food if it is re-hydrated at feeding time? I was considering this for storage purposes.
I've always wondered about that. What if meat becomes unavailable for emergency reasons. Anything can happen.
