Fully renovated old townhouse in Kyoto. Architect's second house & office

The full renovation of a machiya located at the end of a small alley, not far from downtown Kyoto. It was revitalized as a second office and second house for an architect. While retaining the old materials, she renewed it while improving their earthquake resistance and thermal insulation. Although small in scale, this old townhouse was originally used by craftspeople and is richly decorated with high-quality materials and a tea-ceremony room designed to express the Kyoto culture. The excellent carpentry, plastering, and other craftsmen's skills have created a highly prestigious space. The house has been reborn as a townhouse with modern comforts, combining the dignity of 100 years of history with simplicity and modernity.

よくリノベーションの動画を見るのですが、和風なお部屋を洋風にして和を一切無くす人が多く、和風=古臭くて邪魔な物みたいな扱いがすごく嫌でしたが、こちらの動画では和を生かしたリノベーションでとても好きです💚

日本建築こそが控えめでいて美しく、昔の大工さんの手仕事の素晴らしさがあるのに。世界一素晴らしい。
オーバーでも陰謀論でもなくテレビや雑誌やCZcamsで日本文化を衰退させようとしている事に気付かず洗脳され、北欧だなんだとすぐ外国の真似をして何かを気取る。ウンザリしています。
