The "smaller" Megalodon definitely makes more sense, I feel.
That way, the Mosasaurus would still be the longest creature with the biggest jaws, but the Meg....he chonky.
And if those 2 don't behave well together, Frontier needs to add the Livyatan next so it can attack them both and knock some sense into their heads.
In reality, megalodon was longer and wider than mosasaurus, megalodon could get up to 20 meters max and mosasaurus could very rarely get up to 17 meters max, a 15 meter megalodon wouldâve weighed around 60 tons, however, a 20 meter megalodon wouldâve weighed around 120 tons according to the cubic law estimate, mosasaurus only weighed up to 15 tons though, which is still crazy and 6 times heavier than the largest great white ever discovered, but not quite 120 tons, in the game, itâs a different story though.

@@m.d.diablos4423 yes, that would be great, I also hope we find more fossils of livyatan though, weâve only found one skull and judging by that, itâs likely that it was around 16 meters and 50 tons, we might find more and bigger fossils in the future though to discover the true shape and size of it, I still think megalodon was bigger though.
a livy would not be able to kill a meg(for the most part), given the meg hunts down whales it'd know the best to kill it and from fossil evidence, it seemed to be a one sided "rivalry" in the megs favor. But, the livy could definitely kill a mosa. Prolly fairly easy, especially if it got the jump on a mosa

A Megalodon in "real life" would be around 60 feet. However, given that the Mosasaur in Jurassic World was about 2.6x (A regular mosasaur is around 50 ft, and the JW one is 131 feet) as long as a real-life mosasaur, we could perhaps assume that this Megalodon would also be 2.6x as long as its real-life counterpart. This would put it at around 150 feet, around 20 feet more than the Mosasaur, which suggests that the second image Beaver showed might be correct. Of course, this is all just fun speculation, so take it with a grain of salt.
The Jurassic World Mosasaur is a different size in all 3 films.
The mososaur in this game is actually around realistic size. Itâs not as big as the one in the movies
the megalodon recently got a major size buff. it's likely 80ft long, but with the same girth. it's body plan was like a whale shark or basking shark.

You should have a look at the Minecraft mod âprehistoric natureâ it has over 800 prehistoric animals from the pre-cambrian all the way to the Jurassic at the moment the Jurassic is still being worked on so yea but they are going until the present day the creatures are as accurate as they can be within the restrictions of Minecraft and they will update animals and there models if new research comes out on them with noticeable differences

Since the first size of the Meg eating the fish, itâs most definitely accurate. The second one is likely a case of the Meg being closer to the camera.
The problem with trying to size up aquatic creatures in still images is that it's difficult to get a truly proper sense of scale. That being said, I believe the smaller estimate seems to be the most likely, and even still that is a truly monstrous Meg.
Mosa might be longer, but it lacks the sheer bulk the Meg has.

Hi! I think The Megalodon is overall bigger. Well. Maybe the Mosa is longger, but the Meg is just so thick. So overall in term of mass, and any other method of decide who is bigger Megalodon wins, except in the lenght.

The truth is that I would like the megalodon to have a similar size to the mosasaurus, not bigger than this one, but also not give it a medium size since I consider that a medium size would not be doing justice to a Megalodon since a Megalodon could reach a size of up to 18 meters whose measurements were also reached by the mosasaurus, so in my opinion they should have similar sizes.

The size estimate for Megalodon is between 16-20 meters, which is between the real-life Mosasaurus and Shonisaurus, but smaller than the Mosa's 25-meter length in Jurassic World which is its size in the game. So it looks like Meg will be competing with Shonisaurus and Tylosaurus for the second-largest aquatic spot, but Mosa retains its crown.
Second image the meg is closer to the camera and the tuna is further back making the meg appear much bigger its not a 1 to 1. the 1st size comparison is much more accurate because both creatures are in the process of eating the tuna meaning the tuna is in the same depth of field as each other objects relationship to each other pretty important when using a fixed object for scale.
The Mosasaurus in real life was 56 feet in size while they Megalodon was 60 feet. So the Mosasaurus was a few feet under this mighty shark.
I think that the meg is gonna be just a bit shorter than the mosa because if something is bigger than the one of biggest dinosaur in the movies then it wont feel as special anymore, plus its locked away behind a dlc.

I still think the Megalodon will the BIGGEST animal to have in the lagoons, because Frontier and Universal could receive some criticism and backlash if they make the Megalodon smaller than the Mosasaurus.
All it is really is just a reskinned mosasaur, they tweaked the rig and made a skin for it with some tweaked animations. It wouldn't be all that hard to do as well so they should be roughly the same size with the meg being a little shorter as it's rigging for the snout is shortened. Still kinda cool they are still adding critters to this game after so long since release though.
We really need a tylo shark feeder animation.

As cool as it is to have the Meg (finally) coming to the game, Iâm sure the hype will be gone by a couple of weeks when itâs officially out. Reasons being that in the end the Meg will just do what all the other creatures do: walk/swim/fly around and occasionally drop a social or eating animation. There is still no real character (better AI) to the creatures which is a bummer. I mean just imagine the meg swimming towards the viewing platform and interacting with it, like chewing on it or stalking the guests in it. Or generally the creatures checking out decorations and exploring their habitat. Not trying to hate btw, Iâm just saying there could be a lot more to the game that would enhance the player experience.
