Charlotte, NC is a rapidly growing city with a lot to offer. We currently discussed it being the number one city black Americans are moving to. However, there seems to be something missing when it comes to the millennial social scene. Do you agree?

0:33 exactly! I’m glade the immigrant girl said it ! Charlotte along with the black American south, a.k.a., Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Tennessee, Arkansas, is the black American south this is not open for immigrants if you want some immigrant stuff that’s what New York City and South Florida for
Interesting. I hear DMV is great actually for immigrants. Georgia as well. However, I’m not sure about the rest!
Moved to Charlotte two weeks ago. Definitely leaving asap lol. I'm not a clubber or bar hopper so can't comment on that scene but honies, this AIN'T it lol. There isn't much going on here at all. Not a lot of businesses. I'm used to lively, vibrant cities like Los Angeles and Chicago. I'm not a fan of downtown areas but Uptown is decent. Dillworth and Midtown are okay. I live in NoDa. I prefer charming neighborhoods with lots of culture and there are NONE here lol.
Too much highway driving, have to drive miles just to run normal daily errands, have to hop on the freeway to get around. Where are the small owned businesses? Where are the sidewalk cafes? Where are the PEOPLE lol. Where is the corner bodega, the mom and pop shops? Some streets don't even have sidewalks. Most streets have no parking lanes, so you can't pull over anywhere and park and explore if you wanted to. No neighborhood infrastructure. Stores in houses, what in the no city planning is going on here? No ma'am, for the prices they are charging for rent I could be somewhere with so much more culture and amenities. I signed a 6 month lease. I'm out as soon as my lease is up. Heading to Chicago. I'd rather deal with the cold and have world-class amenities and real neighborhoods....or ya know, SIDEWALKS.
Wow! Charlotte is definitely lacking culture! I’m shocked at the highway driving. I (Nnena) hardly get on the highway.
That’s how I felt about Seattle lol
I just moved here a few weeks ago and I must say the highway 🛣️ driving to go everywhere is annoying. A lot of blacks which I like . Money wise is why I’m here😊 I’m looking forward to building more financial success here❤
Welcome! Where do you live exactly because I’m surprised to hear about highway driving.
@@EJIMANnenaNgozi east charlotte, its 15-25minutes to get to different locations and many times I end up on the highway
Once they shut the epicenter down a lot of places became limited for Black people to go for night life except for south charlotte which is known for being racist
I heard a lot of the epicenter!
There seems to be a lot to do in Charlotte for those who enjoy the outdoors & crafts. Not only that but that state in general seems road-trip friendly to visit neighboring other cities. Personally I just like the option to go to events vs actually attending lol.
Read these comments I feel like people are looking for the wrong things in life be happy you alive, and you live somewhere peaceful then trying to be in the mix a lot of nonsense that might get you hurt or kill. Those big cities are dangerous to live in as a black person, you have to look out for your own kind and the police, even other race
I see where your coming from but its not fair to say that looking for fun and a bubbly social life is "the wrong thing." Different folks different strokes. Thanks for watching
I love 1501 its a great vibe great music
Yes especially on a Sunday!
Ive lived in CLT for a couple years now and she is right it doesnt offer that cultural scene that Philly, Atl, DC and Houston have. However I do like the fact that CLT is growing rapidly and has the potential 2 become one of those cities that are on par with other major cities that cater more to black ppl.
Love yal videos too
Yes thank you!
I left CLT last year, the powers that be don’t want that vibe for their city.
Oh wow where are you now?
@@EJIMANnenaNgozi I'm sorry I put "lived" and meant that I'm currently residing in charlotte.
I lived in ATL, its ratchet rich people or rich looking people & Charlotte is Atlanta's auntie & uncle its laid back & older the young people party in ATL or Miami.
Interesting!
Your observation is on point. Atlanta is definitely fast paced and ratchet. Sex trafficking, STD's, poverty and crime is a major factor. Atlanta has the film/T.V. and music industry but it has a lot of crime and heavy traffic.
@@russelladams7134 Very True
The southern states are behind. The east coast might have more to offer as far as night life.
The east coast definitely is more diverse!
The East Coast goes from Maine to Florida
Your statement made no sense
are you referring to Metro New York City? That’s an immigrant hub
compared to the black American south with stretches from Delaware to northern Florida out to East Texas.
