I happened to stumble to this seminar when I had an email from BOM org and became curious about the new technologies like DAS. Mr. Dacus did a very good job in explaining the nuts and bolts of RF's basics and where is it today. I wish speakers like him are available for local colleges as a guest speaker. We do not learn any science until it is put in simple explanations along with its uses and operations. Thanks Farron for educating our new RF engineers. Al

Nice to hear a guy who obviously walks the walk as well as talking the talk. Thank you sir for imparting your knowledge.

Ah, the S-Parameters, I used the Smith Chart extensively and the Vector Network Analyzer for that as A MICROWAVE Technician with only an Associate in Science degree in Electronics Technology help test, built, manufacture 'microwave stripline amplifiers' cascading them '4 - 18' Ghz here on the Silicon Valley companies during the late 80s and early 90s. Thank You Sir. I am now retired and still learning the engineering physics and the math rigors of 'electromagnetics'
ktB with Boltzmann constant, Return Loss, VSWR, dBm, dBuV, dBi, dBc, Spectrum Analyzers, Noise Figure, Third Order Intemodulation Products, YIG-RESONATORS ...; etc... etc.... :),

Thanks for glossing over some of the basics required in understanding RF circuit design, I'm a university student studying electrical engineering, currently participating in a satellite society by leading the communications division and the resources provided have been invaluable. I hope to make good progress and possibly design the entire system before graduating.
