    Quitting school is no reason to give high five.

    • @AdamBobrow

      I understand and respect your sentiments. And while maybe there was a little irony in the high-five or silliness, I DO think there is something very admirable about committing to your passion and really recognizing when it's worth taking "the road less traveled." In theory, dealing with both school and being a professional might seem or even BE ideal, but I think it's really easier for too many people to simply make the "safe" choice. It's tough for me to imagine that Truls will find himself unable to recover from not finishing high school (or passing an equivalency test) at the same time as his peers, but it seems even less likely that he will regret really going for it and devoting himself to accomplishing his dreams and creating the life he's wanted for a long time. Formal education is right for many and not necessarily everybody. I also imagine Truls put a lot of time and thought into this decision and spoke with his parents in depth before making this choice. I have lots of thoughts about this topic and maybe it's better addressed in a live video sometime soon, but I understand where you are coming from and felt compelled to share a thought in response. I hope you enjoyed getting to know more about Truls. 8>)

      There is nothing wrong in giving high 5. People like Messi and Ronaldo will give high 5 too. Let the kid follow his passion..

    • @oneredfish2046
      @oneredfish2046 Před 5 lety +5

      It's ironic that you use Timo as an example. I'm guessing you're younger and have no idea about his behaviour at the table when he was a teenager. Ask someone who was around at the time and they'll tell you that he was a complete brat from time to time. The same goes for Jan-Ove Waldner who was very nearly excluded from the Swedish league due to bad behaviour in his mid-teens. It's an age thing, not a problem and nothing to judge a young up-and-coming kid by. As Timo/Jan-Ove - or in tennis Federer/Bjorn Borg - grew up they calmed down and became the "icemen" most people remember them for. Truls will do too.

      Boll even suggested Chinese players win because they boost their rubbers and use special rubbers.His ''nice'' attitude is more like passive aggression.Waldner who had a real rivalry with the Chinese(Boll is more like the Bundesliga hero) never disrespected them in such a manner.

      How many achievers would you say there are in table tennis? Truls has silver on WJC, bronze in mens team, is Swedish national champ and just won European Junior Championships. Perhaps only world champion (singles) or Olympic champion (singles) is good enough to avoid being called non achiever?
