- Saving the best to last, I think. it took a bit longer than the others to do, as there was so much involved as you will see. this is probably the best the Pub on the layout, all it needs now is a little weathering to finish it off. Cheer's everyone.....

Cool 👍👌 the pebbles on the walls are fantastic and the interior is impressive 😍🤩
For better results for pebble dashing i will be using sand paper next time, P100 grit would look even better...thank you for commenting Cheer's Tony
@@TONYNORTHEASTERN That’s a good idea too 👌 I have used sandpaper for making asphalt roads. It was P80 if I remember well.
The Fina the grit the more realist it looks...
Lovely restoration. I was not sure about the pebbledashing but it does work well. very 1960's lol
Hi Phil as yes the pub. if i ever do one of these again. i will use 180 grit sand paper for the out walls. that's the thing when you experiment. never sure how its going to turn out........cheer's Tony
Excellent work what a difference really has made a bland building stand out.
Cheer's Rob, its worth tinkering with the old kits and give them a new lease of life, thanks for popping in best wishes Tony
Just a lovely finish, looks the piece., like the name .
CHEER's Richard, thank you for commenting, very pleased with the way the building has gone. thanks again Tony
Tony, that is as realistic as it gets. There is something wonderfully Victorian about it. Holmes and Watson could be skulking in the shadows. Kind regards, Henry.
CHEER'S Henry. great comment by the way. it was not intended to get that old victorian look it just kinda happened. which is a bonus. thanks for commenting Tony
That is a nice transformation. it is nice to bring along something old and to update it as the skills improves and make it something more unique- Cheers mate!
Thank you Ollie, like you say its worth doing bringing something back to life, with a new look, CHEER's Buddy Tony
Nice job. Don't forget the drainpipes! That looks really good Tony.
CHEER'S Alan, thanks for reminding me about the drainpipes, they always seem to get left out. cheer's again Tony
Brilliant. Thank you. At 29:13 there is a window closeup, there is a dot of what might be water or glue, with care you could create "Bulls Eye" glass panes with a dot of superglue, I think it would look good on this age of pub.
Hi Ryan, the glue mark on the window is original as i didnt have any spares to replace the windows at the time, like the idea of using glue. maybe some UHU as superglue goes white when drying. as always i do appreciate all comments good or indifferent. many thanks Tony
Hi Tony
Your very good at making things look better than they as they come
Top top video and work
You deserve all the success you get from your work mate
Keep safe ARP
Thank you Adi, thank you for commenting im glad you took the time to stop by all the best Tony. Take care
Great video. I love the pub. It turned out nice.
Hi Duncan, thank you for commenting stay safe ..........Tony
Hi Tony, just catching up on video's after being away for 10 days in Jersey lovely place, well I have just watched your renovation of the pub, pebble dasher, builder, painter, carpenter, & stone mason, is there no end to your talents, I was a decorator in my working days, and if I had have known you then we could have gone into business together and made a bob or two. Anyway your have done an amazing job on that old pub that looked like it was fit for the bin, good job well done. Regards George..
Hi George you had great weather for trip to jersey. hope you had a great time to, we would have been a great team working together. who knows we could have been millionares by now.. thanks again best wishes Tony
Hi tony, thanks for your reply, and yes we had great weather on our trip to Jersey it's a lovely place, and I think we would have made a great team, not sure what my brother would have thought about thing as we worked together still we could have made a good trio, cheers Tony. Regards George.
Beautiful job Tony......📸👌....regards Fred ....so that’s competition between the pubs the North Eastern and Wilbury Castle 😉
Hi Fred, there is still more room for more pubs, now where can I put another one. I think your layout deserves a pub to. hope to catch up soon in a couple of weeks best wishes Tony
TONY NORTH EASTERN ....is that Saturday the 7th .....fred
Cracking job Tony, the pebble dashing transforms the pub and i love the paving in the courtyard...Mal
CHEER's Mal, at first i was gonna paint the pub just white, the pebble dashing was a last minute decision, i wasnt sure about the court yard either. but both ideas worked out ok in the end, and its somewhere else for the little to drink. thanks again for commenting Tony
Now that was brilliant Tony.... 00 scale pebbledashing at its best, Oh, and mines a pint of Newcastle Brown, Please!! Id need one after a marathon re-vamp like that.
Cheer's David, im glad you could join me for that drink as it was thirsty work after all. and in this heat, that we are having at the moment that pint of Newcastle brown went down a treat, Cheer's Thanks again Tony
Mines a Guinness Tony! What a great result on what was essentially a binned item, the scratch made cobblestones look superb and the experiment in pebble dashing is a definite winner. I was considering coarse sandpaper for rendering of walls but this technique would require less effort for similar results. Paul
CHEER'S Paul. Guinness it is, sandpaper idea is not a bad one, fine grit would work. it would turn out probably better than the pebble dashing as the pebbles would more evenly spread out....thanks for commenting regards Tony
Pebble dash from ballast?! Brilliant job! I like the added lead flashing on the roof too.
CHEER'S Jazz man, Pebble Dashing has to be done using the fine ballast, and it works a treat, i cheated with the lead flashing. i just used silver Metalic paint...thanks again for commenting regards Tony
Well that is some transformation! I particularly liked the attention to the detail in the courtyard, the windows and of course, the rendering. Thanks for sharing with us how you did it. Best wishes - Pete
CHEER'S Pete. im glad to be of service, most of the things tried on this building was experimental, except build in the internal bar as i have done that before to the Metcalfe shop kit, that must have been a year back now...thank you for calling in...best wishes Tony
That is just brilliant Tony.Your very talented mate. I will be around for a couple of pints in the North eastern LOL !!!!!!!
All the best , Duncan.
Cheer's Duncan, that's good im the only one in the bar at the moment. thanks again Tony
still waiting its been a year nowlol, sorry the late reply.......Tony
when I saw you tearing this model apart at the start I thought you were nuts, then I watched the transformation, fantastic work. I learnt plenty of tricks and it put a smile on my face.
Hi Fred. i remember this one. it was a bit battered when i was given it. and a few bits missing. But as know Metcalfe kits are great for reworking. i am glad you enjoyed the video...........thank you for commenting......cheer's Tony
Cracking work mate Love the pebble dashing and all the little interior details like bar etc it really brings it alive .. Thanks for sharing .Cheers .... Pete
CHEER'S Pete, the pub is situated at the front of the layout as soon as you go into the room. it just gives you something extra to look at. and detailing is a big part of that. thank you again for taking the time to comment best wishes Tony
Nice wee job tony. Will give it a go myself.👍👍✌
Hi Colin, it will be a lot easier with a new kit, as you can plan how to go about the build, thank you for taking the time to comment . best wishes Tony... Good luck with the build....
Great video, Have the same building awaiting an upgrade. I also use white paper for the interiors as it does look a bit more realistic. Have also started trying to find small pictures for the walls. All the old buildings i have were my dads so to get them looking good again will be great. I have posted a few pictures of small renovations on my group but really should do more.
Hi Ken. its great to hear that someone else is having a go at revamping this kit. next time i would use 120 grit sand paper for the out side walls. i think that would look 1000% better, that how i did the outside walls. but yes great comment. cheer's for now Tony.
You've made a great job on this pub Tony. The only thing that springs to my mind now, is that perhaps you could have wired in a flickering orange LED in the open fireplace in the Lounge... Great job though...
Cheer's Bob. that would have giving it a nice glow in the pub lounge cheer's many thanks for commenting.Tony
You're welcome. I've got a signal bow waiting to be built and have the interior kit too. That includes a wood-burning stove, so I intend to fir a flickering LED in that...
That would be brilliant what an idea...cheer's Tony
I'll have a pint of your best Tony, very well done, like the rendering it looks great. It's all easy if you have the patience. John
Thanks for joining me John I was getting a bit lonely, being in the Pub on my own. the barmaid was getting a bit fed of me talking about the football all the time, my round is it. Cheer's John. yes your right time and patience is the key to putting any kit together....thanks again for stopping by...best wishes Tony
Awesome rebuilding!!! Love it! Regards Onno.
CHEER'S Onno. thank you for popping in, its getting a bit lonesome in the bar on my own. cheer's Tony
You are the master builder of card kits Tony, have been watching your videos but only just starting to catch up lol
Great outcome on the pub, now it’s revamped have they put the price of the beer up.. 😆 I blame brexit
Great stuff mate, have to catch up soon 😉
Garry
Hi Garry Buddy, that's why there's only one punter in the bar the prices have gone up mate. could be Brex it. mind once we are out the prices should drop as we have don't have to pay 20 % Vat wishful thinking....yes we have to arrange something soon...best wishes Tony
Spectacular. That looks amazing, Cheers, Steve
CHEER'S Steve, it worked alright in the end, a few little changes as i went along, cheer's Tony
Another great video I have learnt a lot just a suggestion

How about some kegs and bottles in the pot yard
Thanks again i hope you did nt mind
I dont mind any tips, hints and suggestions are always welcome. and a very happy new year to you and your family best wishes Tony.
Hi Tony,
Wow that is a massive improvement! It really looks totally different! I love the inside detail, Not sure if you will see it 99% of the time but very cool. Cheers
CHEER'S Michael, great comment, its just shows what can be done with a standard kit, but anyone can do it with a little bit of time and patience. thanks again for commenting regards Tony
This is awesome
I don't like Metcalf kits as they don't to my eye look realistic and everyone uses them. What you have done is outstanding, a real good transformation. Might try it one day with something.
Its always worth a try maybe on a old kit, just for practice......sorry for the late reply... regards Tony
@@TONYNORTHEASTERN - No probs. :)
What a transformation completely changed the look and fits in well with your layout
Cheer's thank you for commenting....Tony
Excellent stuff!
Thank you Michael, nice of you to say so....Tony
Good job, Tony.
CHEER'S Nigel, 4 pubs on the layout no quite enough for a pub crawl, lol. thanks again Tony
Hi Tony, another fantastic job you've made out of the pub. Looks ace. Loving the name change too! Does sound like a pub name. Susannah
Hi Susannah thank you for commenting, the pub name was a actual pub in south shields before they turned into a coffee bar, had many a pints in there before moving down south. Ah Happy Days...hope you are well, many thanks Tony
Renovation looks good

Cheer's Josh thanks for popping in for a swift one, all the best Tony
Cracking restoration job Tony, but what about the Pool Table, Dart Board and Slot Machine Eh ? lol (only kidding Mate!!) .....Cheers! Les.
CHEER'S Les if i had put all those into the pub it would standing room only. LoL. great ideas, but if i ever do another one i will add a pool table and darts board and a juke box..thanks again Tony
Nice job improving this popular pice from Metcalfe
CHEERS Dave, well it was going to be thrown out, so i though i make good use of it, not bad for a free bee, was'nt so sure on how many chimneys you get with the kit though, so i put two extra on...take care Tony
nice job tony
CHEER'S Paul. another little job done, what next i hear thinking...? thanks again all the best Tony
TONY NORTH EASTERN yes what next?

Cheer's Brian, as it was second hand i was not sure about the chimneys, thanks for that. got something right thanks again Tony
After the renovations will the lager be any cheaper?
Michael
CHEER'S Micheal, well from what i can see, from the amount of punters in the bar. the prices have gone through the roof....lol...best wishes Tony
