- Adding POTS lights is a great way to brighten up any space and with these new LED slim lights is easier then ever. In this video I am going to show you how to easily wire in new POTS light using the existing wiring in just a few hours. These directional lights can be used in pretty much any space and you can easily adjust the brightness with just a flip of a switch. no fire safety concerns between light heat and insulation touching?
What about cold to warm air vapour barrier issues 🤔
You are missing the junction connectors. Without this, you run the risk of having the cables cut by the edges of the boxes.
You forgot to put cable clamps where the NM cable is entering each junction box
You better pull it all down and install cable connectors on the boxes, it's a fire hazzard. And with this video the insurance company has all the proof not to pay. And 14/2 is fine, 12/2 is overkill for four 11 watt led lights.
I appreciate the feedback. I will update the video and the lights. The reason I went with 12/2 vs 14/2 is because that is what already run back to the main panel.
What about the vapour barrier?
How do you replace the LED if it goes out? it's not like a light bulbs replacement. Do i have to buy a whole new unit?
I apologize for the delayed response. Yes, you would need to buy a replacement. That being said, they say LED's will last around 50,000 hours. So unless they are on all the time you should get a few years out of them. You would need to check the box on whatever you choose to install for how long they last.

Vapor barrier? Can you touch on that please?
So a vapor barrier is usually just a plastic sheet that would go between the ceiling and the insulation. This is just a way to stop any moisture from getting into the insulation, there are other reasons too. Is there any specific you have a question about.
