  • New Zealand Tightens Work Visa Rules Amid Record Migration Levels
New Zealand has tightened work visa rules in response to "unsustainable" migration levels. Low-skilled applicants will now have to fulfil English-language requirements and will be allowed to stay on for three years - down from five, previously. New Zealand's immigration minister Erica Stanford stressed the importance of new immigration policies and said the changes are critical for the government's plan to rebuild the economy. A near-record 173,000 people migrated to New Zealand in 2023. The new work visa changes are in a bid to overhaul the existing immigration system. The influx of migrants started after the COVID-19 pandemic ended.

NZ infrastructure isn’t built for burgeoning migration. There is a severe lack of housing, public places are heaving with people, major roads are congested at unexpected hours of the day, bus drivers unable to speak a word of English. We are backpedalling to third world status.

A true report on what the new Immigration rules are.
The requirements of knowledge of the English language is important.
The employment contract is written in English and is a legal document.
Over the last 25 years plus the Immigration levels have increased unfortunately so had migrants exploitation. Much of this had happened from their own community.

Many immigrants can't be bothered speaking English, they know enough to get by, but basically can't be bothered. To me, that's disrespectful, we invite them in but get the two fingered salute in the sense they really don't want to be a part of NZ. That is the problem and our Government must do something to correct this. Otherwise ???
