I didn't actually know you could cut the tail on Sam's DLC lol whenever I saw him do melee attacks I'd always roll because I thought they'd just stun him a little if I parried them
You can do it in prologue too but its a rare attack that wants you to stand in a weird spot, but its easier to find if you fight RAY on Very Hard or Revengeance.
If you think abt it sams physical ability is much higher than raidens origonal body's. He cut the mg ray in half effortlessly, while raiden had to drag the sword along its back with 2 hands
And ray, a stupid AI, managed to fool raiden 2 times by playing dead First is when he cut off its arm and second I when he chopped its other arm He even got thrown by it at that bell tower But I like the fight because of that Raiden and Ray fought like animals truly authentic to the theme song
Also Sam is still mostly human at this point. Raiden may have been a cyborg, but Sam is entirely flesh and blood under there apart from the suit he wears.
Sam's exosuit puts him over Gray Fox already and his katana is way better than Raiden's. Then Sam's style is all about hitting super hard in just a few strikes unlike Raiden's focus on speed. Raiden is no slouch either, he was able to 1v1 an exoesqueleton powered clone of Big Boss in a sword fight after all.

To make it look like Raiden was too confident about everything while Sam maybe boasts a lot because of his skills but his focus was higher than Raiden's. Also the fact that Raiden thinks he can take on Sam easily because of his upgrades, only to realize that it's a lot harder than he thought. "He barely have any cybernetic enhancements" that realization from Raiden made him look like a fool for looking down too much on Sam.
Who'd win in a fight? A Nuclear powered metal gear, with laser cutting technology that probably cost somewhere in the billions. OR One guy from Brazil.
Im just sad the SAM version turns down the music when in blade mode, the music being retained during blade mode was one of the best parts of prologue RAY to me.

It's just the effect of time being slowed. Raiden didn't have a proper blade mode until he was modified
to be fair the music wasn't synced like it was in the prologue it had lyrics blasting the whole time

Tauting makes the fight too easy and kinda boring. Making the fight longer that way has it's appeal.
They taunted at the end to deal the killing blow. A perfect ending in my honest opinion!
If he taunts, MG Ray will be more aggressive (which wasn't really a problem for that guy) but it'll end the find faster. So yeah, I agree it's boring.
