- I debated for over a year on whether or not to get the Oura Ring...and then a couple months ago I did.
Here's my review of the Oura Ring on it's own, its compatibility with Natural Cycles (the non-hormonal birth control app), why I switched from Apple Watch, and whether or not the Oura Ring is worth the money.

Hey ! Thanks for the review. I have natural cycles also and likewise after a good while on it I got very bad at taking my temperature. I've been thinking about getting oura ring but it's very expensive and want to be sure it'll actually benefit me for using the natural cycles app, so this review was very helpful. I think if your a natural cycles member the natural cycles app also offers a discount for the oura ring.

Such a great review! I have the same situation and loved mine. Just looking for reasons to ge the gen 3 but my 4 year old Oura ring is still in excellent condition, thanks to the protector I got from OSleeve. Guess it was wise to protect our investments, huh?

I’ve been using nc for 2 years now, I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant, we were trying for 2 years but I’ve pcos so..I ordered my oura ring to get more accurate readings especially when my baby arrives I feel it’ll be easier to keep track when you’ll be up and down at night. ❤

This is what i was looking for oura ring for menstrual cycle track as i also have PCOS which makes natural family planning difficult. I have a beautiful 2yr old bc of it lol so i order this ring to help
Honestly the Oura Ring has helped me so much in this regard! I recently found out I have PCOS as well and being able to track my cycle better and see when I’m ovulating or not ovulating (some months I don’t ovulate at all) has been so helpful

Oh 100% I do!! That was the MAIN reason I bought it in the first place! I had gotten bad about taking my temp first thing in the am and needed something easy!
Thanks for the referral code! Did you do the at home sizing kit or took measurements to compare to the sizing chart? I’m unsure how the sensors will affect the size but was looking to get the ring asap without getting the kit.
I did the at home sizing kit! It was super helpful and they got it out to me SO FAST! I think between the time I placed the order and then received the actual ring, it was only about a week and a half

@@erikanagy7371 I ended up getting a size 10 for my index finger! I’m usually a size 8, so I was surprised at how much bigger I needed. A size 9 would have fit, but it was hard to get over my knuckle and anytime my hands were swollen from working out, there is no way I would have been able to get it off 😂
I have done a lot of research into the ring specifically for the BBT tracking 😅 But I will say it wouldn’t be a replacement for my Apple Watch since the Watch definitely does actually track workouts and sleep and most other things better…I am just not sure if the newer Apple Watch’s ability to also do the body temp is as good as the Oura ring…so…I am waiting to see 🤣
Ooh I would love to hear feedback on that!! So far I’ve had a great experience with Oura and love the sleep tracking too, but I also never really used that feature on the Apple Watch so maybe that’s why I never noticed it there!
Do you use protection on Green Days? Or only on Red Days? :) Thinking of getting the ring so I am curious!
I’ve only been using it on Red Days, since Green Days are my non-fertile days 🫶🏻

Hi, im considering buying the oura ring and use it for birth control.
I have natural cycle and i dont need the ring to track anything else, so i was wondering if i have to have a membership at the oura app as well, or will i be abe to only have the natural cycle membership?
Hi there! That’s a great question! I see on Oura’s website that you can cancel the membership at any time and still have access to sleep, readiness, and activity metrics! I’m not sure if that includes heart rate or if it would still sync with Natural Cycles, so that might be a question to ask Oura customer service! Let me know if you do, because that’s so useful to know!

Unfurtunately i need an active membership on the oura ring AND the membership at natural Cycles, for it all to work. I Think that is pretty expensive 😩 so i Will have to find another natural Way for birth control. But thanks for the video !
@@LetsGetADateOn oh man that’s a bummer! I’m sorry! I was hoping there would be a work around to that! I did use just Natural Cycles alone with the thermometer for a couple months first and that still worked really well for me, if you ever want to give that a try❤️

Question - so you have to still log into natural cycle and put in your temperature from the Oura ring before you get up and move around?
Great question! No, you don’t have to do it before you get up and move around! From my understanding, the Oura Ring takes your temperature constantly, so whenever you go into Natural Cycles that day and sync it, Oura Ring will use its algorithm magic to sync what your basal body temp was. You just have to make sure you’re wearing the ring while you sleep overnight 🥳

Hi, I'm debating on getting the Oura ring with Natural Cycles. I wonder though what if I have to wake up at 7 but I have to pee around 6? Or maybe I have to out of bed 2 times. And what if I get out of bed and sleep a little further? And what if I have to wake up the one day at 7 but a next day at 10 so I can sleep in. Does that matter?

Hi there! Yes, you have to have both an Oura membership and a Natural Cycles membership! The Oura membership is $6/month and NC is $99/year
How do you find it handles variations in finger swelling? When I workout or go on long walks my fingers swell a lot. Can you bounce it around to different fingers?
My fingers always swell so bad when I workout too! My ring handles it just fine! I think you can bounce it around to different figers, but I don't think it's recommended
When you order: do they send just the size kit first? Then confirm the size and then they send the ring?
Yes! That’s exactly how it works! And they recommend you wear the ring from the sizing kit for 24-48 hours before confirming your size to make sure it’s still comfortable from all the changes in your hands throughout the day. I wore my sizing kit ring for 36ish hours and then confirmed my ring size and they sent out the ring that same day! From initial order to receiving the actual ring only took about a week. It was so quick!
Do you have to sync it to the app every morning? Or does it automatically do it for you??
You do have to open the app to sync it, but you don’t have to do it first thing before you move or anything like that like what you have to do if just taking your temp manually! There have been some days I forgot to sync til later in the day, but the algorithm works its magic🥳
Does the natural cycles app refresh your temp throughout the day or is it just the one time in the morning?
Just in the morning! Because it needs your basal body temp, so the temp that your body is when it’s not active or doing anything

Nope! Not at the same time every day! There’s also been days where I’ve forgotten to sync it and then the next day it retroactively syncs it! Which is great
@@hannpena that sounds great. After years on hormonal BC I've decided to get off it indefinitely and have been looking into getting one of these. Unfortunately they're still a little too pricey for me here in the UK so hopefully I can manage to find a cheaper one second hand.

Can you comment on the fitness specific part of the Oura ring?
Definitely!! I really love the fitness specific part-it’s great that it will automatically detect when I’m working out AND what kind of work out it is-I don’t have to manually put it in or tell it that I’m working out! And the readiness score really helps me determine what kind of workout to do that day/how hard to push myself. I absolutely love that! It’s like having my own personal little trainer on finger😂
