A ride called something like the “Tornado”, had an employer who put the bar that holds us on the ride wrong somehow. In the middle of the ride, the bar came up. My cousin’s friend noticed something was wrong, was able to keep the bar down when it came loose, laughed, started talking about jt to everybody, fixed it, and carried on like nothing happened. I was the one sitting next to him in a ride that fits two people, but i was closing my eyes and curing up into the corner of my seat the whole time, so if he hadn’t been there, i would have died.

Many thoughts. Midas is a very apt name because it sounds like you made this channel to vent bile and shitpost and yet it became figurative gold. I can't put myself exactly in my shoes but I imagine the feeling being that bittersweet bemusement at something you've poured your heart into going nowhere but then something you half assed ending up working out way better than you ever could have imagined. I think it's important to recognise that while things are arguably getting worse and are certainly different. Escapism through media is nothing new, the world has always been an overwhelmingly miserable place for most people most of the time. One of the most popular forms of escapism and entertainment surrounding this has always been cynical dry and dark humour. I spent most of my time online in politics and tech spaces which are toxic as fuck. Ironically this is what lead me to discover Vtubing with the whole Nijisanji BS. I Like Vtubers because the mask of the model allows many women to express themselves more openly and freely than they could comfortably do if they were less anonymous. Fanatasy and authenticity are not always mutually exclusive. You can adjust up or down the amount of your personality you want to shine through but at the end of the day whatever character you play needs to have some foundation aligned with one's real personality if the performance is to be convincing and sustainable. In terms of getting laid most men have suprisingly low standards and most women have shockingly low standards lmao.
