"Slither" is how a snake moves. You want the word "sliver." 😊😊
That Highland Titles is a big scam, there has been many more of those (including on the moon). You pay for absolutely nothing in return. I can see you need the money Rosie, but I am really disappointed in you promoting "businesses" like this.
@@Martin_Skywatcher I'm very clear about what it is they do and you're completely free to not spend money on anything you're not interested in!
@@wildrosie well said Rosie! 👍😎 You clearly stated that it's not a land to build anything, but just to have a picnic. Clear and truthful. People can decide.
@@wildrosie They do sort of what they say they do, the issue with this place is that there's no record of where any of that money is going. They do have nature preserves but nothing is being tracked, and they actually have a really bad reputation among environmental agencies in Scotland. It seems like tons of that money is being pocketed, instead of actually being used to restore land.
A suggestion for the ladder is maybe suspend it horizontally from the ceiling in front of the window, over the countertop in your kitchen. Then you could hang herbs, onions or other garden produce for drying. Also you could hang pots, pans, towels, etc. Thank you for your beautiful, calming videos.
Oh yes it would be like one of those traditional hanging laundry racks you get in Victorian kitchens
It’s done now. I suggested a few months ago to have it on a pulley.
I had the same advise as diannepoteet gave. You could hang flowers, plants, uso!!!... Do with your heart !!!! But now, you have cut it.....
I was thinking like you, a horizontal hang for all you said. However, I don't think that's Rosie's style. Husband and I are at odds with each other about this very thing. He would joyfully display all we own by shelving, hanging, using every flat surface we own to display. While I'm ok with a few things like that, his clutter sort of paralyzes my mind and I can't function in a space like that. I think Rosie is major minimalist. But like I said, I would find some of that very useful and "cottage" appealing.
Oh yes , I hang ladders and slatted sides of old baby cribs for the kitchen and for clothes drying racks wherever I need them. They are su ch a cool design element and so so functional ❤️
I have followed you now for all 75 episodes (75 episodes, that alone is an achievement).
Assume that all the episodes were compiled into a documentary.
A documentary that was shown in all countries where women are oppressed and considered second class citizens and less talented.
This also applies to many women in Europe and in the US.
A documentary film that shows that there is no difference in the dexterity,
skill and fearlessness of men and women to start and complete an advanced project on their own. In this case even in an arctic country.
Large parts of Sweden are a tough country to live in, especially out in the countryside.
Wild Rosie has shown that a single woman can live far away (Sweden is 447,425 km² in surface area with only ten million inhabitants).
In rural areas, the nearest neighbor may live 2 kilometers away or more.
Almost 6 months without sun. Wild Rosie has made a performance that
I am sure that no other woman has done in an arctic country.
My name is Kjell and I live a little further north in Sweden and know what a tough life it is in the Swedish countryside.
Living here with only one bicycle in an initially cold and drafty house, it lacks all superlatives in all languages!
Excuse my bad English!
Well said🙏
All I can say is wow
Absolutely love this idea!! Like a docuseries! Rosie is so badass!
She's an amazing young woman. Fearless too. Those camping / hiking treks of hers would freak me out. I've prayed to God for her many times. I mentioned to her she could get a trailer for her bike. Then prayed to God for Him to get her one and months later she got one given to her! I pray for her safety. It is written,
Psalm 91:10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Brave, intelligent, confident, talented and becoming more skillful all the time. She needs to get chickens. Eggs and then pooh for the compost.
I agree 100%, Kjell
Rosie i get so sad when your videos end. Its like you have become family. Best wishes from a small country town called Milang in South Australia ❤️
Me too! 2 long weeks to anticipate Rosie Sunday. They have become my favorite days ❤️
What a sweet comment! 🤗
Cleaning/redoing ceilings are the bane of the existence of everyone I believe.
5.8°C that's cold for an inside temp.
Fiberglass wall paper is your solution, and tiles behind the fireplace might fix the problem of the peeling paint.
Good job. Plenty of courage to you !
Do the floors last Rosie. It's easier in the long run and faster. Then you don't worry about drippage, spills, marks, scars and cuts that are done accidentally.
An alternative to broad spackling the entire room is to use "renoveringstapet" renovation wallpaper. It is basically very thick wallpaper that you glue on top of your existing uneven surface. When it has dried it provides a base that is stable, even and paintable.
she mentions it in the video
It’s almost impressive how this ladder idea is consistently not working out for me. I love your sense of humour😂
Jacob's ladder lol
"The ladder (or staircase) is symbolic of the connection between HEAVEN and EARTH. It represents progress, .."
Agree! I laughed at loud at that observation.😂
So excited to see your vlog early this morning as I was unable to sleep...I started out painting my front concrete stoop/4 stairs a Terra Cota color, I loved it so much I painted the walls of the porch same, then the alcove, the front of the house is nearly finished, now I'll be starting the side wall and front of my tiny 1946 garage...I often ask myself, 'when will it be done'...it will be done when it's done...I think of you often and all of the 'CUTE" things you create and envy your youth, I'm nearly 75 and live alone and am stimulated by what I gaze upon, the finished work, but the gazillion trips up n down the extension ladder is a workout that I relish, my mind is focused on the execution of the next project and my afternoon power naps...just have fun Rosie and think 'CUTE'...
Thank you for your cute comment! 😊🤗
Girlfriend, you are SO SMART!
You think things through; execute the best you can for the situation.
I LOVE that you use what you have; modify the plans to use up lumber that’s on hand, or glue boards together to make it work!
I’ve always done this!
I’m definitely getting one of those electric sanders! Looks to work amazingly well!
I’ve always sanded by hand and at almost 70 years old, doing refinishing, gardening, painting, building for 50 years, my hands are very arthritic!
These tools will save them!
I just got a second-hand rechargeable battery drill. Can’t wait to try it out!
Thanks for your beautiful videos. I can’t wait till you post!
I think orbital sanders are the best ones to get... my rectangular sheet sander is a bit heavy to operate! Good luck with your renovations!!! :)
" I have so many ugly things." You make me laugh every video. Thank you!
My vision for a ladder, now shorter, is a hanging pot rack or drying rack for clothes or herbs/flowers. Even a rope candelabra ❤
Climbing plants would appreciate it too.
Greetings from Finland. Rosie I have seen all your videos snd they have inspired me so much . Iive in a log house built in 1832, out in the sticks. Your videos gives me hope to learn how to keep up the house. I am 74 years and I live alone. Love it, 5vkm to the closest village....and 1.5 hectars around me.
Have you concidered to keep the beautiful logs at least on8ne side of the wall that gives a warm and c8sy armosphere.
Similar situation here. I am sanding my floor now. Rosie's inspiration.
Maybe not enough insulation?
I have had a nightmare of a week, and today wonderful Rosie pops up on my feed. Thank you for your warm calm energy. It is rare to find someone like you Rosie dont you ever forget that. xx
If you put tile, stone or corrugated metal on the wall behind the woodstove...it would radiate heat back into the room and save wood too.
I can't believe I discovered your channel only 2 days ago ! It really became my "happy place", helps me stay focused and brings me joy and relaxation, thank you so much for sharing with us 🙏🏻 God bless you
You're an amazing woman, Rosie! Look at how far you've come. Your progress is a joy to watch, and you're so talented! I know it's been hard, but you don't give up. I hope you realize how inspiring you really are. 😊
Hey Rosie, be super careful with ashes from your wood stove! Get a fireproof ash bucket or take the ash outside immediately it can catch fire even if you think it’s not still hot! I know from experience 👍
Sometimes when its hard to live, on my own in my recyceld tiny house on the edge of the village, i think of your. And than i feel: i never give up...
Tkx so much Rosie ❤
With how long your living room was more or less your storage room it's great to see you get to it. And: you can work in a heated room, something that wasn't always a given.
I love how you approach complex projects with calm…and work things out when you are ready to do so….annd then you execute…..bravo Rosie…
Little tip is to use damp cloth and a bit of ash on it to clean the glass on your wood burner. It works a treat :)
I'd love a decorative wallpaper in the living room. It can give such a nice contrast to simple wooden furniture and give warmth and a bit of colour.
Rosie has someone who has followed you from the start of this journey I'm extremely impressed with how far you've grown. Your home is not a run of the mill home it's as unique as you yourself is.
I was just telling my daughter today - sometimes we spend so much time thinking about what we have to do (analysis paralysis) and when we actually start, do, and finish - the task is way easier and faster than the time we spent dreading it in the first place.
🏆🏆🏆
You are getting it done! Good on you!!
❤❤❤
160 thousand subscribers! ❤ Your channel is one of my favorites. You inspire me. Ive spent last three nights pulling wallpaper off my dining room and hallway. Its a bit tedious! ❤
Equal parts Downy laundry softener and warm water mixed up in a spray bottle is good way to take off walkpaper, a "tiger claw" is a round wallpaper remover tool that pricks little holes in wallpaper, then you spray the mixture, let it soak under wallpaper for 10 minutes... and scrap off with a paint scraper or metal spatula.
I can't fathom all the work and patience all this takes.
I think I've seen somewhere, that the Highland titles is a scam...
But I'm so excited for the renovation!!
Oh Rosie...your Vlogs are my favourite. I have shared with my sister, who loves you too. Keep up the excellent work!
A ladder hung on a wall is good for displaying quilts, blankets, embroidery samples.
Yes, Rosie, let's do something different with this room! It may take longer than planned but we'll be here to wash.
“Slither of storage” is now my favourite phrase. 😊
I love watching your videos. Not only do you put so much work into your renovations, but also in creating incredible videos, you are an amazing woman!
Rosie, I was thinking you should clean up the attic and make that a useful storage room.
Rosie, re your watching the Korean house building on You Tube. It is actually much more difficult to create your own perfect place when working within the size and style constraints of an old, already existing structure. You are necessarily limited as far as scale goes. You are brilliant at what you are doing. Very gifted. As far as that aggravating ladder placement- just relax and let it rest there for a bit of time. Your subconscious will work it out and find the perfect spot for it. I love watching you solve problems and do it on a shoestring budget. ❤️🇨🇦
Not to mention you have to start by undoing previous work and dealing with unexpected problems like the gaps in the walls
@@kutanraor uneven floors.
Fancy tile for chimney, heat would bounce off it and help with warmth in winter
The ladder would have made an awesome drying rack, attached to the ceiling with ropes and pulleys so that you could lower it, hang your wet clothes on clothes hangers hooked over the rungs of the ladder and raise it up out of your way. Or bedding and towels.
Watching you patiently work and solve problems, as you go, has taught me to slow down and plan each move. Thank-you. There is beauty in your work but also in the process.
A suggestion: when you have left over filler type materials, in a large pail, you can prevent it from being exposed to the air in the empty portion of the pail by covering it up with a flexible wrap pellicule, hence it will stay moist and not dry up as much….
Something is beatiful with your personality telling us about Scotland.
Putting a large bucket (not plastic) of water on the fire place helps keeping the heat when the fire have gone out.
A pan of water if the wood stove will put some moisture back into the air so it’s not so drying. I have a large stockpot - a teeny bit decorative in shape - on my woodstove for that reason.
Bricks or stones
You made a lot of progress in this video, well done! And I'm glad that Highland Titles sponsored the video, because I'd never heard of it before. I recently found out that I have a lot of Scottish ancestry, so I purchased titles for my 65th birthday and my daughter's 32nd birthday. A bit of fun that will also help preserve the beautiful Scottish highlands, which she and I both love!
I identify with you going from project to project. It keeps me interested and I find I don't get bored or burnt out working on the same thing over and over. Nice to move from one room to another and one craft or whatever to another. Love how your mind works and the ideas you have. You're amazing!!
Hej Rosie! I hope you are not experiencing my mistake with the wallpaper. I also removed the outer layer of the wallpaper and was left with the inner layer which was more of a paper. So when later coating with plaster, the paper sucked up the moisture of the plaster ending up in so many bubbles. I don´t want to remember how many hours I hade to spend sanding, plastering, sanding again, plastering again to finally get a good result. I´m no expert but I think one should either just plaster away (only remove where absolutely necessary) or remove everything completely. Best of luck!
Thanks for that! I think there will be some trial and error here... hopefully my walls will give me a little less trouble than yours!!!
I personally love the 70's aesthetic so the "70's sauna" style really appeals to me :P I would build it and then spend a good while thinking about if it feels good before making a decision. Also keep in mind that this building is built to breathe, if you put something on the walls that doesn't breathe you'll end up with mold. I don't know what that paint you were thinking about consists of, but it's worth keeping in mind!
Heerlijk wakker worden met jou nieuwe video.🤗
I have the same feeling for ladders. But lately i really like them vertically with kitchen herbs in little pots hanging with hooks. It's an option. Amazing channel. My fav, absolutely
To get rid of wall paper, mix water with vinegar soak the wall paper with it and let it set a few minutes and then the wall paper scrapes right off 🙃
Rosie, I am almost positive that ceilings are just about everyone's bane of existence lol. Don't lose hope because you create beautiful things from not so beautiful. Btw...put your stove ashes into your garden. They do wonders for the Ph. In the soil. Can't wait to see your progress. ❤❤
You are the most skilled, in credible builder. You impress me so much. You keep your self focused which is difficult when you are on your own. Be proud of yourself. You are amazing. I love your channel so much. You are an artist of beautiful things.
I love this channel and this young courageous woman a lot.
God morgon, Rosie!! Perfect timing! I’m having my breakfast 😃👍🇸🇪
Happy Sunday!
Hope you decide to do ur attic space too in the future, as heat travels upward, it wud b a very cosy master suite for you. Im in awe 😮.
when I saw that corner storage and Rosie said, "it's useless" Im like to myself "you know how useful closed storage are".
It's my new favourite thing :D
@@ChrisWootenNorthCarolinano, half hour is fine.
@@ChrisWootenNorthCarolinaIt takes @wildrosie a long time to film and edit her videos. What you are suggesting would double or triple the amount of work and time it takes for each one. I think she’s got enough on her plate right now.
@@joeb4142 I agreed. Rosie works too hard as it is.
I ❤ watching you as you are inspiring. I am SO happy you’ve decided to go another way on the lounge. I’m excited to see a new treatment in the house and I think you’ll like the contrast from the work room to a calm room.
Hey Rosie!
You are well on your way with the renovations. Old wall paper is a pain in... If you paint it you get bubbles. More or less what ever you do you get bubbles😭! The only safe way is to put up plaserboard or chipboard. But it`s an old cottage so...
I have the same "rörspis" as you. And all of them has that gap to the wall. I don`t think you need/ should put something in there. You can scrape off some of the paint and take with you next time you go to town. Ask at a paintershop/ builder what kind of paint it is and use the same paint to fix it. I think you need some lime mortar to fix the cracks first.
Have you started sowing any seeds yet🌱😊? I feel the sun is getting varmer☀🌡!
Toujours aussi intéressant et très agréable à visionner pour apprendre et réfléchir.
Hi Rosie, around the chimney I see metal, stone, brick, tile or a combination of either 2 of these. They do that because of the heat and any other material can cause fire. Of course you may know this but would be nice to see those options behind the chimney.
Thank you Rosie, you are an oasis of calm inspiration for this lass in Wales. Have fun x
YOU CAN DO IT ROSIE
Hi Rosie, A few thoughts to consider, if case you already haven't. 1) I was wondering if the gap next to the chimney was there for a reason. Do you need fireproof insulation for the gap by the chimney? 2) You likely already thought of this, but could you remove one of the doors to create more wall space and storage, 3) and finally, the ladder that can find no home might be good as a hanging drying rack in the drying room…? Anyway, you're on the move again, and it's wonderful to watch your journey! Thank you sharing ~ 🙏💃🥰
Love your channel 💛💛 I thought maybe the skinny cupboard would fit brooms before the shelf make over. But you did a great job utilizing the space. Hi from NZ
Ashes kill moss and are also an fertilizer. To clean the door on the woodstove. Use old newspaper, wet it, put on some ashes, and clean the inside it is very effective. Hope you find used/old newspaper, then the whole cleaning is free. What about a Murphys bed?
I learned the same lesson with cheap caulking guns and bought a slightly better one with a shaped, rubber coated handle. It is definitely an improvement. That said, working with any caulking gun for a long time in the cold would probably hurt your hands.
I love the timber walls in the rest of the cabin. I think the area behind the chimney in a different material will give you that contrast you're craving. Thank you for your gorgeous videos, always a treat x
You are very inspiring, the way you hunker down and get on with things and don't get downhearted by the drawbacks. You are making a beautiful home.
I was so thrilled with a video popping up from you! You always bring such joy, calm, and peace to me when I watch your videos. I love watching your journey.
You might consider a metal backing behind your stove, like corrugated tin. It will reflect the heat back into the room. Or maybe fire proof brick/stone backing.
And fire proof the floor under the fireplace ?? I’m confused why wood was added over the top of the stone base
Hej Rosie good tings are comming , spring and sommer is just around the corner ❤
Can't wait to see what you do with this room. You continue to amaze me. Keep up the good work.
Yay! A new video. Everything is coming along nicely. ❤😊
Wow you're fast! :)

You are doing fine Rosie, glass wallpaper can be tricky to put up, but nice looking, and at least here in Denmark you can use it behind the fireplace, make sure you check local laws about what can be used around the fireplace?? Chimney is always tricky because off, cold/warm cycle, most paint will crack with time!!
The music you used for this video was so beautiful, perfect, thank you.😊
Another great video. I love that you think out loud, sharing the various options for your spaces. Also envy your freedom to do what you want, when you want...no one else vying for your attention. But sorry that I have to wait another 2 weeks for the next installment.😢
Amazing ,brighten my day when I see you facing every challenge with a smile.
Another fantastic transformation ahead.
Cannot wait to see what you do.
You are amazing.
Goeie morgen Rosie!
Thank you for being here this morning. Me, myself and I were really looking forward to your video 😂.
Love from Luxemburg
You're such an inspiration! Thanks to your videos I no longer have a floordrobe, but a wardrobe in my bedroom ☺
I renovated similar soft walls, tried a few different things, best result was when I took off loose wallpaper and sanded it flat, plaster if there was multiple layers or just very uneven, more sanding, then thickest cover wallpaper I could find.
I think what you are doing is remarkable! Your home is beautiful. That you are out in the middle of a forest in Winter/Spring, on your own, without a vehicle (other than your bicycle) is so courageous . Congratulations on your progress and success. ❤❤❤
Kom snel met een nieuwe video!!! Zo leuk om al die progressie te zien.💕
So good to see you "carry on" with your renovation projects. I've missed your videos. Your attention to detail, the s.ow, meticulous way you work has rubbed off on me and I observe myself taking more time instead of rushing through something. Ìt's meditative, and very satisfying. Thank you for teaching me this. 🙏💕
See if there is a cordless caulk gun that is compatible with your battery platform. I finally bought one. Your skinny cabinet is wonderful!
Fabric softener in hot water will be a huge help in removing the wallpaper. Used it many times so much that I now don’t wallpaper anywhere, love paint but at 76 don’t use that much either. I’ve hung up my DIY tools but am loving watching you face your challenges. Love your independent style.❤
you should do a lovely tile backsplash where the heater is, it can give a cottagey feel. xxx
A great start to my Sunday morning. Can't wait to see you turn this living room into utter perfection like the rest of the house!
This is the final frontier Rosie! You are making it all look so easy now 😊❤ 🏠
You are going to have such a nice calm living room when you are finished. We love sitting in front of our woodstove and watching the fire.
Also like the art wall in the study. My husband and I had scenic photos we took printed on canvas and hung those for artwork in the landing. We switch them out when we have new adventures because it is not expensive to do. You also could enlarge a photo to fit each of the niches…it could look like a window view outside.
There is actually a tool to assist with wallpaper removal. Hand held block with tiny pins that you press against the old wallpaper to create tiny holes which allow remover to soak in better.
I look forward to seeing what your living room will look like in the end. Anyway, I think it will be very nice.
I love your kitchen.......actually I love it all. I am a fan of wood.....any place....the way you use it is awesome.....open shelves are so unique. You rock.
hey Rosie, hope you are well! I have never commented on one of your but I have been watching you since you first moved in to your cabin. I think you can use the ladder in your bathroom (if there is place) as a towel holder or some kind of a drying rack for now. Or you can install it on the ceiling and let some plant hang from it or put some planters on top. Additionally, I think you should get rid of the old wallpaper altogether. I currently live in an old house as well and even the layers of paint crumble underneath (it’s rental) let alone the wallpaper. The heat changes drastically between seasons so that process might be faster and your hardwork and most importantly money might just go down the drain. The pain idea is great but you ate going to şive in this house for a long time so I think while the house is in renovation just get rid of the things that might cause more problem that you have fixed before but that’s just my opinion and I know how easy it is for me to just say things from for. I love your ideas and works so keep up the good work! Have a great day🫶🏻
Please keep in mind that with a log structure the inside materials have to remain breathable, don't use any plastics etc. or you will have moisture problems. That's why they use that "cardboard material" for the walls and then put wallpaper over that. I also have completely renovated a log home in Finland.
I love when I see your new post. After I had a very busy week it is a nice surprise to see others feel the calm that you bring to us.
Nice work! Your home must smell beautifully; all wood, pines, fresh air. Thank you for all your hard work behind the saws and camera.
Thanks Rosie for another super video. I am always checking up to make sure that I catch them as soon as they come out. Why!!! Cause am truly amazed with what you have achieved, like many I have followed your journey from the start and have watched you grow in confidence in so many ways. Roll on the next episode. 🎉❤
Hi Rosie I think you are doing an amazing job absolutely gorgeous keep going with your DIY you will get there love watching your vlogs ❤🎉
The "ladder". You seem to like the ladder aspect. So it's HOW you use it that matters.
1) Create a pot hanger in the kitchen. Using S hooks, hang all your pots & kitchen utensils from the rungs.
2) Create a towel rack from which you can hang towels - tea towels, bath towels.
3) Create a clothes rack from which you can hang clothes. An indoor drying rack for underwear.
This is exactly was I came here to suggest. Just before she cut the ladder, I thougt "why not just hang from the ceiling instead". Or use it as a trellis for a indoor climbing plant?
Dear Rosie❤
Am watching from Singapore
Brilliant, Rosie! I love a good limewash. I can almost see your living room finished: textured, warm, inviting, totally you in all your personalities.
