Oh my gosh! Bitty is so sweet. I am from Kentucky, but now live in Indiana. My niece, however, still lives in Kentucky, in Marshall County, and survived the horrible tornado of December, 2021. They lived on Kentucky Lake, and escaped with nothing but their lives. She and her 8 year old son suffer horribly from PTSD and get so upset everytime the weather turns bad. They know how fortunate they are that they were not hurt after that tornado in 2021, but having a three story house collapse on top of them is something they just can't forget. Thank Bitty for her compassion for my family.

What a darling girl. She has such a grown-up response to the storms. Her level of empathy is very mature, for being so small.
I live in North Carolina, and two F-1 tornados were confirmed less than two miles from my house. No sirens, no warnings, NADA. So many businesses were shut down for days, and many homes are still without power. My husband and I are tootin' LUCKY that nothing happened to houses in our neighborhood besides some small branches being lost from neighborhood trees. During the storm, the beautiful incredibly old oak and dogwood trees in our yard were almost bent in half from the wind. We looked at the map of the tornados' paths yesterday and just thanked the stars that nothing happened. We are donating money, Lowe's gift cards, and cleanup time to some folks we know whose businesses really suffered damage, including the local drive-in theater that is owned by a friend's family.
Emily has such gracious kind subs. You have no idea how much your generosity means to those around you. Reading the kind thoughtfulness in the comments such as yours really restores my faith in humanity.

The hardest part with the storms when you are someone who gets scared is having to act calm and brave for the kids.

“It kinda gives me the creeps” too. I feel like I have been hyper aware of bad weather this past year, blaming the fact the fact that I’m alone in my house so it is making me extra aware of weather events.
That Colour Pop palette is gorgeous and I don’t even like warm palettes. I’m more of a Stone Cold girly and Bare Necessities imo … most amazing palettes, but this is looking nice too. This one tho- It’s got a nice balance of warm and cool tones and the pigmentation and foil on them look gorgeous, Emily! They lay down and blend beautifully too. Something I think people forget if a large palette, any palette gets too overwhelming with all the options, they are ALWAYS set up so any quad you choose it meant to work together. So take any 4 in a square and they are meant to work together.

I’ve done practice drills with the cats. I want them in the closet with the cat carriers so I practice saying Safety! And shaking the treats in the closet. And then I would say safety play sirens and shaking the treats in the closet. They kinda know now that if they’re scared to go in the closet. It might be a little much but it worked and I’m less stressed about getting them out in an emergency.
I’m so glad you made comments about taking shelter from tornadoes. There’s always a chance empathy could drive up the numbers of injuries and deaths from the storms. We should all model safety steps for our children and grandchildren.😊
Yep...super scary. Tornado took my house March 2020. Thankfully, we lived through it.

Growing up in Michigan, tornadoes always terrified me. And now that I'm out in Arizona, every so often we get that creepy yellow green sky that all of my instincts are screaming tornado! Even though I'm in the desert. I don't think that ever goes away, and That's okay, because severe weather is not something you want to mess with. So glad you are all safe

I live in tornado alley in Oklahoma. When my kids were young I would get really anxious about severe weather, but now they are grown and it’s me and dogs… now I am def more “don’t be scared be prepared”… I think the majority of my fear back in the day was bc my kids were young.
What I like about the NYX bronzer is the undertone. It has a pinky tint that looks very natural on my fair cool skintone. I've been loving the lightest shade.

I’m afraid of the severe weather. Whenever it’s coming I say my prayers. My husband watches it because if I do I will be a nervous wreck. If he says get your shoes on then I know it’s serious.
Em your voice always calms me down. You know when you’re getting ready and you have time to take your time but you still feel un easy and you have to play your favorite movie or show to feel calm. You talk about the basement for safety, but have you thought about what skincare to keep/bring with you to the basement? Especially what if you had to camp out the bad bad weather ? Do you have products you would absolutely keep down there?

I lived in Joplin, Missouri for 25 years, and lived there when the big tornado hit and tore the whole town up. It was May 10, 2011 actually. Which yesterday was the anniversary. lt was a awful mile wide wedge, rain wrapped tornado. I still have anxiety now when I hear tornado sirens go off or get a warning for bad weather. Glad y'all are okay.
I remember when Joplin got hit with that. It WAS a bad one. My grandparents lived in Joplin for a few years is why that tornado sticks in my head.

Good morning Emily. Where I live, there is currently an Evacuation l Alert because of wildfire. I live in Northern Alberta. I had to pack a luggage last night to make sure we have everything ready just in case the Evac Alert turns into Evac Order. Thank goodness the weather cooled down, so far no Evac order yet! Whew!

My house was completely destroyed by the April 2011 Tornadoes it really sucks!!! Let me tell you! I’m glad we were not home and all my animals were okay 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 I’m loving that eyeshadow look … I can’t wait to get my Colourpop pallet!!!! It’s on the way!!!

I totally understand weather anxiety! I'm in West Virginia and we've been experiencing tornadoes lately and it's something I've never dealt with in my 36 years. We don't even have a basement or true interior room (older, smaller house) and I'm always a nervous wreck. I'm glad you all are safe!
I used to live in Japan as a kid and we had 2-5 typhoons a year. Many up to category 5.
Once the eye passed over our neighborhood. It was amazing to be outside in it and see blue sky after all the rain and wind.
Oh friend, you should be so proud of your mothering! Your babies are so empathetic and kind. This is coming from an almost 60 year old granny, who was raised in a time where you were allowed to be a child but respectful. So so good and how you make God a center of your world is going to be so impactful to who they become.

I can only partially understand the fear and destruction of a tornado. This winter we had a freak wind storm go through part of Portland. With little to no warning a giant fir tree decided to invite itself into our house. It landed about a foot above where the dog and I were resting on the bed. I am beyond grateful that it stopped before hitting us and that we made it through with minimal injuries and that my husband and neighbors were home to dig us out. I’m grateful for good insurance but it’s definitely an exercise of patience. It took two months living in a long stay hotel before a rental house was procured. Our house.is being taken apart very very slowly, but again grateful to be alive. I never really loved wind and now I really do not like it all! For those of you experiencing the crazy climate issues, whether they be tornados, flooding, fire or hurricanes my heart goes out to you.

Emily, I’m so glad that you and your family made it through the storm safely! I used to live in the South and dealt with numerous severe thunderstorms and tornadoes while there. It can be truly frightening, so I can completely understand why inclement weather makes you nervous. Eve is such a sweetheart to care on the level that she does about those affected by the storms. You and your husband have raised such great kids!

I grew up in the Texas panhandle so my spring/summers were always filled with tornado warnings and watching the sky for that errie green tint you see as one is close. I've seen the destruction myself, helping with cleanup in neighboring towns....I understand your anxeity. Its warrented.
Tornadoes make me nervous, too, Em! We didn't have any in my immediate area of Mid-Michigan, but in SW Michigan, they had a couple in Portage that caused damage. Thankfully no one was hurt. Always enjoy Bitty's guest appearances in your videos. 🥰
Back in the 2020 during the 1st days before we went in to quarantine for Covid, we had a tornado 🌪️ that hit my town. My husband was out of town for work. My daughter was sleeping at Grandpa & Nana’s house. So I was home alone. I never heard the weather alarms 🚨 going off. I woke up to all these messages from coworkers and friends & family asking if we were ok. Freaked me out completely. 😮

In Oklahoma here and the weather has been awful here over the past few weeks! We have had multiple tornadoes with major devastation. But, our weather men here can pinpoint the tornadoes to the actual street they are going to hit! They are amazing and save lives every day! It’s still very scary as my kids live in an area that gets hit often. I’m tired of the severe weather. Love you and your channel ❤
I love living in California and we have earthquakes. But they are not as common but when they happen sometimes they happen big. I live in the Bay Area and in 1989 we had a huge earthquake and I was in my last year of Jr. High and we were out of school for 3 days. Earthquakes last less than minutes and I will take that over hurricanes or tornadoes any day. Glad you are all safe Emily
Great tornado siren sound! I grew up in Ohio and we spent many hours in the basement because of hearing that sound. I live on Long Island now, and that siren is used for the volunteer fire department. Still, after 20 years here, I immediately think, “Time to get to the basement’” 😂

I was a student at ISU doing volunteer work at a clinic in nearby Bloomington when there was a tornado warning. It was the middle of the day & all of a sudden got pitch black. The tornado jumped over Bloomington & hit the next town.

We had a tornado practically in our backyard 😩 it went through the neighborhoods RIGHT behind us. It was a baby on but roofs were gone, fences gone, trampolines in trees and power lines.. Texas has been WILD this year.

I grew up somewhere that had tornado drills, but I never experienced an actual weather alert for it until a year ago. We were in a Target and they suddenly swept everyone in the store into a storm shelter area to wait it out. Thankfully we weren't hit, but it was TERRIFYING. I was so worried about our cats back at home. Again, thankfully our area only experienced strong thunderstorms. I was texting my bonus mom so frantically 😅

A couple weeks ago we had to go to the basement here in Des Moines. Had to drag our 5 year old GSD male down the stairs because he NEVER goes down the stairs because he’s a wimp. IKR, a German Shepherd afraid of stairs, LOL. Anyway, we had one hit a few miles away in Pleasant Hill. Can’t even convey how scary it was.

Hi Emily. I share your dislike of spring for the inclement weather. I grew up with those sirens. Dad and mom called them the Air Raid sirens from WW II. Always frightened me! My husband could sleep through anything and I heard everything. Used to drive me nuts! Glad you and yours are ok. Thank you for the video. She is so sweet to hint of Kentucky and Tennessee. Sweet baby. If this weather keeps up, we are all going to have lakefront properties!
