  • I had this knock on the front suspension and I couldn’t work out what was causing it. Check all suspension components and all seemed fine.

Next time maybe worth investing in Lemforder droplinks, I've found the Starline links will only last a year or two if you're lucky, if that. Same goes for any lower arms, ball joints, etc.

My Starline wishbones are still good after 30k. I was going to put Moog or Lemforder, but my local ECP didn’t have them in stock and because I only had this day free to do work on the car, I was stuck with these.

Great job, Gentil. Your sound at the beginning and end was a bit low btw.

Thanks Frank, I didn’t use my headphones for this editing do I didn’t notice the sound volume issues. It does sound low indeed!

I replaced both front links on mine recently and the noise went away. Although now its come back. Could it be that i didn't put any thread lock on?

Did you use a decent brand of part e.g. Moog/Lemforder/Febi etc?

@@FatHead1979 whiteline. The universal ones, not focus MK2 specific

Strange, the threadlock only prevent the nut front undoing. Are they still fully tightened? Unless the noise comes from somewhere else

@@GentilsGarage I need to find the time to get the car back up in the air again. I'm hoping the nuts have just come loose a bit. Would be an easy fix I guess?!

@@R118GSiVVC should be easy. Trial and error as always, but make sure you either have a dab of threadlock or use nylock nuts
