Sometimes when I watch people play Security Breach, I have to remind myself that the game is horribly optimized, and that it's not my laptop lagging.
sometimes my youtube lags out randomly and when i watch security breach vids i literally can't tell sometimes so i have to check lol
@Burst Gaming How the only redeeming quality of this game is some of its characters. The rest like performance, quality, AI, ambience, and story are all inferior then the previous entrys also the lack of fun stuff to do and scariness of the game make it the worst of the series
And i didnt even mention the bugs, thats how bad this game is, also it is really expensive for the quality and playtime it offers and being 40+ gb is just a slap in the face of the consumer

@@tillytakestallys It's incredibly subtle, to the point it's impossible to hear when there's a lot going on. The most obvious (and when chat starts to catch on) is around 22:50. He says around halfway through the video that he turned it on and off every ~10 mins, lol.
The kicker was him claiming a group in chat was pulling an april fools prank on him lmfao. Even going in knowing he WAS making the ticking, I was like "huh, that makes sense..."
My theory is that steel wool PURPOSELY took out the movement customization in the new patch because of Spiff's silly shenanigans and miscellanious misadventures

On the topic of 30:06 with the monty ball shots bouncing almost randomly, I have a theory on that. There used to be the gator rides constantly cycling through the area during the fight (and clipping through stationary ones). At some point they got rid of them, but they might have kept the collision of the rides.

Just cleaning up meshes so like reducing mesh count, optimizing material images, helps reducing size. Like image there is a 100K vertex size model and reducing it to like 50K, can almost cut it's size by half. and meshes can take up 1-2 gigabites by them selves. So with just good old optimization they can probably cut the game size in half if not more.

Mesh count is a huuuuge part of not only reducing game size, but increasing framerate. It reminds me of Yandere Sim, which is ironically enough, my other favorite "Developer Hell (That We Should Use As A Learning Tool For All The Possible Ways Not To Create A Game)" game. Notoriously slow game. I remember someone going through the largest files, and it was always overcomplicated meshes from borrowed assets that had no business being so detailed. Like, one of them was a toothbrush. One of those photorealistic ones where you'd see every bristle.
Oh god, what line of work are you in that you've dealt with 1-2 Gig 3D files? I'm genuinely curious from a fellow 3D artist standpoint. Most I've had in an FBX is 700MB for a 12 piston diesel generator complete with internals, and THAT ran like garbage. Modo 10 was not happy trying to process 24 million triangles on a single mesh item.

That was the most intense file in the game. A fucking toothbrush. All because YanDev doesn't know how assets work.

I think what *REALLY* peeves me off about them bringing back Afton was that *They already fucking solved this problem in Help Wanted.*
In HW they introduced Glitchtrap, which was a copy of William Afton's soul at the time of his death imprinted onto the AI of Golden Bonnie, splitting one into two, to mirror how Golden Freddy/Fredbear was two merged into one (Evan Afton and Cassidy). However, since he was an AI, he split from Springtrap in the 30 years between FNAF 3 and 6, meaning he avoided Henry's wrath and now they could have a child murdering psycho in the series that not only couldn't fully die and could manipulate animatronics, but because he was a copy of Afton as he was laughing at the dead children who were trying to kill him, he's also an AI Lazer focused on murdering children, far more then Afton ever was.
So after Pizza Sim, there were three (possibly four-five) haunted/ghost-induced sentience animatronics/AIs left; GlitchTrap, the Endo Phone Guy haunts (he vanished after FNAF 1, so who knows where he is), Old man consiquences, LoLbit, and DD.
And of those five, only one still had any murderous intent left... And only one has access to the Freddy Fazbear servers...
They literally created a villian with a perfect set up to use the iconic imagery and personality without taking Afton out of his eternal torment by Golden Freddy in hell.
And then they didn't. Fucking. Use him.
Help Wanted was *literally* a steel wool game, and they didn't. Fucking. Use. The villian. They created.
Just... Holy fuck how do you fuck up that hard.
They even specifically killed off Bonnie offscreen, they could have had Vanessa just build Glitchtrap a body, but NOOOOOO, it HAS to be Springtrap. Because fuck a satasfying narrative, fuck making a new design, we have to rehash Springtrap. Because.

Nah, that was the real William Afton in Help Wanted, which pretty much undid the ending of FNaF 6 so I don't know why everyone was pissed about this. Plus, Scott is the one who writes the lore and story (and don't you DARE tell me that he retired, he still had a large amount of involvement with both games and Steel Wool doesn't have a single writer).
pretty it isn't the actual canon, but my hc is Vanny uploaded Glitchtrap into the old Afton endo/suit. it's way better to me narratively than Afton actually always coming back. that or i've completely misunderstood everything in SB, but in a game this bugged it's hard to tell what is and isn't lore

Honesty even what you described is way too extra. The moment we started introducing murder AIs the series lost all intrigue to me. It stopped being interesting after 4, it became just a mess of bullshit. Afton should’ve died in 3, a nameless child murderer with unexplained reasons. None of this “AI copied from his soul” shit

The difference between soup and stew is liquid content. soup is more broth then filling stew is less broth than filling. Stews are usually slow cooked so the broth is absorbed by the fillings so you end up with less liquid in your bowl.

Yeah, and there are soups that are traditionally served cold, like gazpacho. He did say he thought all soup was better hot, not that they didn’t exist. Though, the ocean being more similar to tea does make since, calling it soup isn’t any more incorrect. Tea can arguably be soup tbh, or at least a broth.

I, as a Pizzeria Simulator fan and holding Henry's speech as one of the best video game speeches I've ever heard, am actually really thankful to hear your condolences. Most people are just making fun of the newest game or being angry about Burntrap. (*sigh* including myself... William Afton can burn in Hell) So, guess that's nice to hear. I miss those days.

@@ruairicorrigan3582 The game would be 1,000x better if Vanny and Glitchtrap had been the main villains (Better for Vanny just being possessed and Glitchtrap mentioned or destroyed in PQ3) than William Afton. I would actually put effort into defending some of the story elements of the game. Vanny/Vanessa and Sun/Moon are amazing and would have _made_ the game. Which is, of course, why they were pretty much cut out of the game. lol

But nah, give her that one line, make her show up like twice in game, and never do anything with her again. Except, that is, for some planned DLC or something. If you have to pay for that dlc, I'm not getting it. The only fnaf content I'm gonna buy after this is fnaf+ and the fan content, because Steel Wool has royally fucked up with SB in every way, and simply lost my trust.

Security breach is like one big fever dream. You think you've seen everything, then Spiff shotguns out another video that leaves your mind to melt
Just imagining after Daycare, Chica, Roxy, and Monty savagely turning the place upside-down to find Gregory. Meanwhile, Freddy with a deadpan face is just moonwalking his way out of the daycare.
Admittedly despite being miffed about pizzasim getting devalued, security breach has been probably the most fun to theorize about… when it comes to coming up with lore explanations for the various glitches and just not giving a shit about author intent. Like somehow the glitches actually are more consistent to the previous games than the actual story stuff is. Like giga monty technically has appeared in both ucn and fnaf world, just going by a different name. In fnaf world there are various objects you can interact with to glitch out of the map and enter something called a sub tunnel to quickly travel around the world. Hell the stupid balloon world minigame has those too and in the title screen you can see a circus with a pinwheel on it, the final location of fnaf world were the boss of the area is named “security”. However if you glitch the world too much you end up spawning a certain alligator and getting trapped with them, old man consequences, the only other alligator in this franchise who appears the same way that giga monty does.
the actual lore of security breach is pure garbage but the glitch lore is amazing

Which sounds more fun: Exploring the pizzaplex to try and discover new horrors behind our comprehension or Peepaw willy being back agaim. everything to do with vanessa/vanny has either been cut or retconned so its just not worth putting in any energy to think about them

Other more recent epiphany is that given how much the game breaks when you turn voices off, obviously chica's magic rainbow is involved. Its who Im putting my money on who the blob is actually. A rainbow is just an amalgamation of colors that anticlimactically kills the purple geist ^^

Spiff I have found a way to skip the endo section. So first you go into the vent in salads and sides, then you play normally until showtime. at showtime you make your way to el chips. You get the badge from the office, and now you should have level 5. Then you just play showtime normally, and go straight to parts and services therefor skipping the whole endo section.

i wish security breach ended up having a gameplay loop where you actually have to survive until 6am and you can only charge Freddy between the hours, but you can still have set pieces for taking out the animatronics because it makes surviving easier, and there could be certain things you have to do while in certain areas like "oh you have to make sure the power doesn't run out while your in this part of the plex or else youll freeze" or something like that. it would make the game more replayable and there would actually be stress about making sure that you save enough freddy power to last until the end of the hour making it feel more like the traditional micromanagement gameplay of the originals

Weird thought: What if they had the security bots patrol in formation, with elements breaking off to more appropriately "sweep" an area?
That wouldn't be that hard to set up, you just need nodes for their movement vectors and have the main wall of bots 'wait' for the breakaway elements to return to their formation nodes.
It would look better than random tiny patrol paths imo, and would make hiding a huge deal for when they sweep rooms.

In pizza sim Afton was kill and is in hell (a.k.a ultimate custom night being tortured by the children he killed), but some tech stuff had his spirt in or at least a copy so they got scanned in to help wanted and in one of the ending a mind swap happens (which is what happens to Vanny) so the digital Afton was put into a animatronic so that’s why he’s “alive” in this game

I would have made something in AutoHotKey.

Regarding Security Breach's story: I stand by my take that SB should've been an AU. It's just completely disconnected from all of the lore, it's a stand-alone thing, it's just a new game with a new style trying something new to shake up an old formula. It's so wildly different from the rest of the franchise that it's really difficult to fit it in, so why not just let it sit to the side and be its own thing?
And then they said, yeah but Afton sells, and they just fucked the whole thing by shoehorning in the evil pizza place under the new pizza place and now Afton's a fucking zombie ghost robot that possesses other robots to KILL.
