The Ruin jumpscares are kind of an inbetween of the normal 'just screams at you' and TJOC:R's "Wow they actually kill you" jumpscare. Ruin's are the screams and sometimes seem to imply how they kill the player. Pretty interesting stuff.
I like them, I did always think it was a bit silly how classic FNAF jumpscares are just "they scream in your face and you die... somehow". As it goes 3D I feel like it's for the best that they make a bit more physical sense and you can see what they actually do more
I like that Cassie actually seems to fight back instead of just letting them scream and bite her you know? It makes it feel more realistic

Real talk, people sleep on mini music boy's jumpscare. I find jumpies to be kinda... Dumb, generally, but something about how there's JUST MORE and they KEEP COMING and you don't SEE what they do, just the twitching before "haha kill children" mode engages, is bloody nuts to me. It's easily my favorite in SB, and probably the whole fnaf series. OG golden boy back in 2014 was nuts for it's own reasons of course, but man something about the twitching and the hard cut to nope just clicks with me. I like it.
some jumpscares, like Mangle's, imply a direct attack,, but then you have SB Monty who.. bites air?
the bugged Monty jumpscare where his jaws are open and the camera is just shaking is actually pretty scary to me, like that's the last thing you'd see as he rips your face off,, again, like Mangle's jumpscare
the Ruin jumpscares (especially Monty) not only are more vioIent and less just screaming at you, and give Cassie more character. I think they're neat c:

There was probably a guy at Steel Wool that secretly changed some stuff to make jumpless possible without other people knowing. There’s no other reason for the ramps in the Monty water section to exist.
Ha! You have no idea what kind of gamers there are out there that can be defeated by a stressful jump. That ramp makes sure people do not get stuck and can not finish the game. You think the game difficulty is by accident? It is far more strange how SB released in the way it did. Like dam that game is actually a risk people get stuck and quit playing.
@@TheDiner50to be fair, most of the time people dropped from SB not because of its difficulty but because it was buggy as hell. From crashes to softlocks, from enemies teleporting on top of you to unloading levels, the game was barely playable at launch (nowadays at the very least you can finish it without getting screwed by spaghetti code on every corner). Ruin is not THAT easier, it's just much more well-made, that's all. Like, yeah, it's easier, but even then there are moments that prove some sort of challenge

You can do sprintless without cheats or bugs, glamrock freddy chase is lowering your framerate and being precise and the mimic chase you can also do because his pathing is terrible down there and even if he does not get stuck you can still get him to go where you were 3 seconds ago with basic movement, also the puzzle at the end resets his distance.

I was really excited when I saw monty’s water section for the first time and said “oh wow! This might be like amnesia! This might be actually scary!”
And then I went through the water without ever feeling threatened by monty in maximum overdrive

I think what really made that area so underwhelming (aside from the lack of danger) was it it didn't even look scary. No splash of water as he jumps in. No ripples that you have to watch for to check where he is, just his dumb lil hair tuft. And the area is so small you barely even have time to become scared, just a feeling of "wait, that's it? it's over already?"

i noticed that while in the cutscene where cassie thinks to go to the elevators in chapter 1, you can move freely. the camera stays locked in the cutscene, but when the cutscene ends you'll end up at wherever you walked. i'm not sure if there are any other cutscenes where you can do this, but i imagine this would be helpful in other speedruns
Gotta give props to the viewer that gave the idea for a skip that is now used in speedruns
I really enjoyed how Sister Location incorporated multiple endings, which is something that Security Breach also did. However, in Sister Location's DLC (the custom nights), they made it clear which ending was the official one instead of leaving us with more questions and possibilities.
Pretty sure Save Vanny is canon. The arcade machine in her office in Ruin has a golden sword stuck through it in AR mode, implying it was 'conquered'. And Gregory mentions a friend with a map of the Pizzaplex during the Mimic chase. Strong implication that he's being taken care of by Vanessa now, now that she's free of Glitchtrap.

@@daymuntaku6590 I dont think its really possible for freddy to have left. freddy himself explains why it isnt during the base game, and in ruin we are chased by his headless body lol
@@meteorstarthearcher5350 in one of the endings (van one?) Gregory manages to keep Freddy running by jump-starting him with a car, and the Freddy in Ruin has 'Prototype' written on the bottom of his foot, which is not present on regular SB Freddy, so it's entirely possible that Freddy has left

I gotta say, I'm glad Ruin is more fun-type broken then TOTALLY accidentally broken like SB's base game, even if these skips are still stupid easy, at least you generally have to look for them and don't just . . . die because the game decided you were supposed to taste the void like in base game SB.

The animatronic that helped you beat security breach sprintless and jumpless is also the animatronic that caused the most trouble in beating ruin sprintless and jumpless.

I absolutely love that in every single game you lag out, it actually has a tangible effect on how things play out. Like I don't think I've ever seen a time when it's failed, and it's something that nobody else seems to have tried yet. I wonder how many speedruns for other game franchises could have saved immense time by lagging out the system!

All in all, Gregory is the real villain of this entry of fnaf games. Wanted to get out of a place that was pretty calm in the security department and decides to destroy Freddy's friends and home and commit vandalism,murder, and theft of property, and condem all of them just to keep himself out of the place.

I love how the freddy chase started out impossible with Spiff only being able to get through like 10% of it sprintless and gradually just kept getting further and further until he actually beat it
I was hoping to see if you could get through this challenge on your own after Chicken Ninja’s run. It’s awesome to see that it is possible from the hopelessness that it was after that video! Good job to both of you building off to show that it is possible!
I just remembered, sprint and jump now have their own bindings in the controls menu from the pre ruin update, Spiff doesn't have to take off the keyboard keys.
When the ideas are combined into one video you know something is up.

I wonder if the fps effects freddys movement based on receiving commands to update the path every x ms overlapping with a frame that isn’t being played. Such as 15fps would need 40ms updates to update frame by frame but 41ms would skip 39 frames before the first update goes through, giving you 2s before the run begins. But that’s just a theory. A game theory. Annnnnnnnd cut.
Loving the extra little edits along the way! Especially sounds, since I know if I missed one then :) these videos are perfect for when I eat so I'm not looking 100% of the time

I am a p big weenie when it comes to horror games and also typically I SUCK so I really appreciated the easier nature of ruin considering this franchise is one of my favorite things, and until now I havent been able to play the others because I was simply not good enough and also too anxious while playing

5:20 Actually, there is a bug where in VERY specific parts the mask will turn you, I don’t know if that would be enough to beat the game with but its a thought.
In regards to child nodes and parent nodes being coding terms. My coding professor was going over that in an entry level comp sci class and brought up what destroyers were in programming. So he then demonstrated how he could use a destroyer function to destroy all the child nodes.
Long story short, my coding prof is now known as Craig the child destroyer!

Ruin just looks like a hold W simulator. I kinda feel let down by this DLC but I’m not as connected to Security Breach as others, but it just felt so underwhelming. No threats, no challenges… idk. Thankfully spigg is so fun to watch so he makes it much more enjoyable.
