So my friend is just starting to build this deck and I was able to give her 49 of her cards, including the basic lands. This channel makes magic so accessible. Please never stop.

Dinosaurs are my favourite. However I must say, from experience, I played Gishath many times. Honestly even with ramp it is very difficult to bring him out quickly, and when you finally do it it is very easily removed by opponents or countered as everyone is aware of the danger it presents. I personally switched him in the 99 and as commander I am playing Atla Palani as it is more cheap and the mechanic of eggs is so cool and fitting for dinosaurs that I had most fun of it, also when you cast Gishath from the hand, it is more difficult to counter because most players forget that I even have it in my deck, so they do not often have counters to it, because when he was my commander most of the time everyone was saving at least one counter for it for when I cast it. Anyways that is my experience, but everyone should play what they feel comfortable.
I love the pacing of these videos. You talk fast, but I still understand what you're saying clearly. Always a good watch and always something I look forward to watching.

EDH is awesome because it's pretty much a free place for people to be creative or competitive. We don't need another channel being taken over by stupid political (both left or right I don't care) ideas. Game comes first eh.

So I instantly ran out and bought this deck mostly with singles from my lgs to help keep the lights on. It did cost me a bit more than 25.00 then I did all the recommended upgrades. First play threw with some high end decks this deck went off like a champ got my commander gave double strike bam 10 more dino's on the board definitely a blast. 2 and game the table cought on and stalled out a bit. I think I will begin by speeding up the manna base. Definitely a fun deck to play.

I started playing magic about two years ago and my first deck was a half built Gishath Deck that I finished. Even now it's not the greatest but after watching this, it gives me some very good ideas of what to fix, you're the best man!!

Pyrohemia will lock down a board if timed correctly. This deck needs penance as well. Such a cool synergy with Gishath. Also Congregation at Dawn

That is essentially an infinite combo/board wipe if you have the mana for it, ping everything and have a ton of dino tokens to swing out with.
Amazing deck, just what I needed because I'm playing a standar dinosaur tribe deck, so I have several of the dinosaurs of the list including some of the upgrades. Now I just have to play it against my friends and wish for a win. Thank you, great video.

Throwing in the Desert land from Timeshift is a nice enrage enabler too. And if you use the ramp spell from Hour of Devastation you can tutor it up as well.

@@TheCommandersQuarters Update: I just bought this deck including the upgrades because LGS EDH sales. Holy, once Gishath attacked, it immediately turn the tides.
The funny thing is my opponent played Coat of Arms, so when double striked, one opponent immediatly got KO'ed.

This is so useful, I had a couple of dinosaur standard decks that already had a solid 70% of the cards here
Gishath was my first commander deck when I started playing last year! Teemur Battle Rage is a cheap combat trick that can make your dinos hit harder, and Pyrohemia is great for enrage triggers
Ha! One I already have. I use Aether Flash, Lightmine Fieldand Caltrops for enrage triggers and Congregation at Dawn, Reinforcements, and Penance for top deck manipulation.

Rishkar's Expertise is a great card for this deck. Had one in my binder and threw it in.
Also as soon as I can find it, I'm putting in Shamanic Revelation.
Temur green and red cards compliment this deck well.

As my first commander deck I ever played being Gisath, I am so thankful for this video! My eeck has been in massive need of an upgrade and this will give me plenty of ideas.
One card I think works well for this deck is Xenagos, God of Revels. He can make Gisath even more terrifying by giving him +X/+X at the beginning of each combat, where X is that creatures power

This is definitely going to be my first commander deck.
A little update after buying this deck, I've made some upgrades (Wayward Swordtooth, Heroic intervention, Boros/Naya charm, Ripjaw Raptor, etc) but even out of the box this deck was super fun to play! It never felt like I was at a disadvantage in my playgroup, and I've even pulled out some pretty decisive victories! Very fun and effective starting point, and dinos will ALWAYS be cool

I like you how include every budget fetch land you can find. You're fixing your mana and filtering your deck for when Gishath hits. The impact of these cards are more subtle, but can lead to big things.
Also if territorial allosaurus comes into play off Gishath are you able to kick it or does it just enter the battlefield?

Great decklist! I already have a Gishath deck with some of these cards already on there. If only the LGS I go to didn't hide all the pre innistrad cards and rares.

Here's a modified decklist I set up, but keep in mind I included some cards that I already have have that you may want to swap if you're looking for a cheaper budget (especially flawless maneuver). I cut a couple of the cards that have shot up in price (e.g. runic armasaur) and put in a couple others I really like (apex altisaur, shielded by faith).
@@bobfaceasdf9251 How do you use something like that? I played MTG way back in the day but coming back to it after over a decade. What in that deck list should I keep and what should I leave out to get it to 60? Just judgement calls?
@@FilmColossus Hey! Glad to see you took a look at this one. I've made a decent number of changes since I made that list, mostly cutting dinosaurs that were just in the deck because they said dinosaur. I focused more on the turbo-ramp package instead with the idea that if I can cast gishath repeatedly that's enough to win, and also included a couple of extra-combat spells that I picked up (but they're not very budget if that's a priority). I'm not certain why you're looking to get it to 60 seeing as commander is 100 cards? But these are the basics, use value (not high-stat) dinosaurs, lots of ramp and make sure there's enough interaction.

I think if you have a slightly larger budget you could add polyraptor and trapjaw, wayward sword tooth and possibly zacama. also huatli is a great addition to the deck. great budget video

My girlfriend runs this deck since Ixalan came out. She loves dinos and this is an amazing deck for starters and more advanced players and it will stand up against some of the strongest tactics out there

Great list for a meta frowning on infinite combos; smashy tribal! A great upgrade is Polyraptor and Boros Charm. If you have that plus the Forerunner of the Empire you can make I believe infinite Polyraptors until you end the loop.
Definitely a fun strategy!
I would love to see with your recommended upgrades what you would consider taking out and why.
It depends on your meta and your playstyle! I recommend you test it for yourself and make changes based on your preferences

I’ve got a Gishath edh very similar to this I made ages ago, recently tweaked it with newer cards and can honestly say Proud Wildbonder from Ikoria is a great addition! You’re basically guaranteed the 7 damage to your opponent!

I like this list and I have my own Gishath deck that I have been tunning (because that's what we edh peeps do)
I think the artifact tribal cards like vanquishers banner and door of destinies are not so good in this type of deck where we should be focusing on Gishath. Helm of the Host and extra combat steps works better for me (I have played both strategies)
Just trying to drop some helpful advice.
I also ditched a lot of the smaller dinos and focus more on bombs, value, and commander damage.
Your list did give me ideas and I would love to see a break the bank!
Also - pyrohemia is fun (especially with Polyraptor)

I built this deck with a few extra reasonable upgrades. This deck is crazy strong once you get ramped and even the small drops are good fuel for the fight. I knew I would like playing this deck but I think it has become my favorite. Such a fun deck. GG

@@TheCommandersQuarters I can't seem to lose against some power House decks. For as inexpensive as it was to build this, most of the cards of which I had, it's just tooooooo good. I did have a couple of the cards suggested as reasonable upgrades. I love all your videos even if I never intend to play that commander. Helps teach me a lot about combo mechanics. I am glad I found your channel! Keep making awesome decks!

Perfect for the R/W/G infinite Polyraptor combo. Forerunner, Polyraptor, and Cathar's Crusade. I prefer THIS infinite combo as it gives +1/+1 counters to ALL creatures you control rather than just 1 of them.
Mitch, will you ever try a higher budget? I'm honestly impressed at how well these decks run, and I'd love to see what you can brew with, say, 50 or 70 dollars
I have been trying to find a commander i enjoy for years, and i finally found one in maren of the clan nel toth. Sadly, she seems to be very expensive. Becuase you are amazing at making good and fun decks for cheap, if you could make a commanders quarters for meren (probably excluding her price cuz she is expensive) it would be totally awesome!

This badboy has become my favorite and most succesfull commander ever since Ixalan came out. I'm not running it budget though hehe... got a fucking cavern in it and half of the cards are foil, but Gishath is kinda like my spoiled brat that gets all the goodies ^_^

@@saucyToes Nah, every new expansion might come with one or two dinosaurs max like Thrasta from modern horizons or The Tarrasque from D&D. Best thing to do is buy them individually, although you might get lucky with an Ixalan or Rivals pack...

Pyrohemia would make for a good reasonable upgrade. it's a 2RR enchantment with "At the beginning of the end step, if no creatures are on the battlefield, sacrifice Pyrohemia." and "R: Pyrohemia deals 1 damage to each creature and each player." which would be the absolute best way to trigger your enrage effects at any time as many times as you want. add in something like Rite of Passage and you can keep using it as often as you want, making your creatures bigger with each use along with all the enrage triggers.
Could you make budget deck tech with Varina, Lich Queen? I'd love to see your take in making budget zombie tribal, especially with budget 3-color mana base :)

Great video! I want to build this deck, with Etali, Vanquisher's Banner and Wayward Swordtooth as upgrade. But I have no clue which cards to replace... Basics like Dreadmaw and Brontodon?
How about congregation at dawn? You can search for your 3 best dinos before gishath deals damage and put them straight onto the battlefield. Also, it's not too pricey at around a dollar

Hi, Mitch! After playing your Nicol Bolas and Zada deck techs, I decided to expand my collection with this Gishath deck. Question, what do you think about Vivien's and Sunbird's Invocation on this deck? How about Rhonas' Monument. I just happen to have those cards in my collection and I think they can be really useful especially with high CMC deck like Dino tribal. Thanks!
I don't know if you respond to comments on videos this old but, I was wondering where your reasonable upgrades would fit in the deck and what cards they replace. I have chosen "Ghalta, Primal Hunger", "Ripjaw Raptor", "Wayward Swordtooth", and "Gigantosaurus" as my add-ins and have chosen "Zacama, Primal Calamity" as an add-in and potential secondary commander. I was really wondering your input before I start replacing cards willy nilly lol.
I have a Gishath deck and let me tell you, she's a huge troll, I've hit for 20 and gotten 3 dinos out, and I have a lot of dinos in there. Pyrohemia is a fantastic card for this deck btw

@@TheCommandersQuarters I know man, i watch each and every one of the videos you upload, just wanted to make some suggestions that i find interesting, the stormy instant-sorc commanders are funny to play and i wanted to see a budget version made by you. I know those 2 are izzets, but one is a wizard tribal and the jhoira is more like an artifact-ish deck so it is similar in some ways but not at all. Anyways i will be waiting for the next video!
